We really enjoyed our stay at Dancing bears. We happened to get lucky and visit when there was an abundance of snow. My kids loved playing in it nonstop followed by some jacuzzi time. Bonnie was very welcoming, helpful and responsive. Check-in process was easy. The view is very nice. Would highly recommend!
The HOT TUB alone, with the million dollar view, makes this place worth every dollar. But the cabin was cute and cozy, and the location was perfect, and the owner's communication was spot-on. Yes, the bathroom was small for me (I'm a big dude) but that's not enough to dissuade us from returning. This cabin was perfect.
Our stay was very pleasant. The cabin is well located right at the entrance of Big Bear Lake, so its easy to move around. Just a mile down the road is a very nice park and some stores. The view is beautiful and the jacuzzi is very nice! Communication was great with Bridget. We went in winter so it was all snowed in (lovely), we did have to ask to get the ice removed from the steps to the cabin and the driveway so our small car could park properly. She responded quick and the guys did a great job! Thank you

Decent place, terrible owner
Cabin was decent, a little dated, nice views. Renter beware, memorize the rules, owner will look for anything to keep your money an kick you out. The worst VRBO experience I have ever had. Owner shouldn’t rent house she doesn’t like to be bothered should you have a question. Owner also fails to mention in the rules or contract that you are under constant video surveillance. This should be disclosed to renters.

Unfortunately for Alissa, she was in complete violation of her contract, far exceeding the max # of allowable guests per contract and City of Big Bear Lake; therefore, resulting in eviction from the property upon arrival. This is the one and only time there has been such an occurrence at Bearfootin' in her 19-year history. In keeping with the laws set forth by the city and the liability, therein, we were left with no other option. I personally found alternate locations having availability for their large party, for which I provided contact/location information. Rest assured, there is not nor has there ever been 'surveillance' at the property. Bear in mind, this is coming from a woman that never stayed at the property. It is further unfortunate that Alissa resorted to such measures as to post a negative review rather than to take responsibility for her circumstances; obviously, in a measure to put Bearfootin' at a disadvantage, discouraging prospective renters. We'll continue to open our doors in good faith to our valued guests, ensuring the best in comfort, safety and enjoyment! We've been most-fortunate over all the years to have had the same respect reciprocated that we've extended to our thousands of happy guests! May the reviews speak for themselves! :)

Great Get Away
We were looking for a a nice cabin to enjoy a family weekend. This place was perfect for "us." some of the criticisms are fair, i.e. the couch cushions were pretty worn and the decorations a bit dated; but, it's a "rental". If it were my property, I imagine it would be in about the same condition. It's a great little get away cabin. it's not the Ritz and it's not a "home". it's a get a way cabin and it is perfect as that.
it's very cozy and comfortable, a place you can "kick the shoes off and rest easily". You will feel right at home. additionally, the kitchen is truly full of everything you will need should you decide to do some meals in as we did.
we felt safe and like we got a good price for what we received.
i would really challenge some of these 1 and 2 "star" reviewers to ask themselves what they were expecting. the pictures and description of this property are accurate. it bothers me that people want to pay a mid-tier hotel price for a 2 bedroom cabin in a resort location and have it be luxurious.
the owner was easy to work with and very considerate. my only criticism would be the lack of an AC, however, that's normal for Big Bear, and how far the key pick-up and drop-off was from the property. Because it's so far from the cabin, it took about 45 minutes out of the first and last day; but, those are hardly "bad" attributes.
we really loved it!

Greetings, Tony and Family, Thank you for your recent visit to Bearfootin'! I am very pleased that you found the accommodations to be comfortable, enjoyable and "perfect" for your family! We will continue striving to ensure future guests share in your same positive experience. Regarding the key pick up destination, according to MapQuest, it is precisely 4.21 miles from the cabin, being a 10 minute drive. The destination is a 24-7 operation which is considered a convenience factor for most. You will only need to bipass the cabin for key pick up when coming up the front side of the hill to Big Bear via the 330; otherwise, when coming up the 38 through Redlands or the other side of the mountain through Lucerne Valley, key pick up is on your way to the cabin as well as on your way out of town. As for the 2 reviews that you alluded to; fortunately, they are the only 2 of their nature in Bearfootin's 11-year history . . . I hope this speaks for itself! Unfortunately, there is no way of knowing when you are handing your keys over to one who is maliciously motivated or has ill-intent. It is a tactic that has become more prevalent throughout the resort during this downed economy. We are grateful for all of our lovely guests of Bearfotin' over the many years who continue to see her for her beauty and experience this beautiful paradise to it's fullest, just as it was intended! We hope to see you again . . . with many thanks and best wishes!

Wonderful Cabin! Felt at home, but on vacay!!! :) Pictures do not do it justice!
We stayed the weekend of Feb 9th, 2018 to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and we had such a wonderful time! Our host Bridget was amazing and responsive and so sweet! The pictures of the cabin definitely do not do it justice. Everything was very clean, and it is decorated to give you the feeling that you are definitely in the mountains in a cozy log cabin. The living room was so comfortable with plenty of seating options on comfy clean couches and sofa chairs and windows with awesome views. We were two couples and there was plenty of room for us and more. The TV's have cable and Netflix. We lounged and played games around the coolest coffee table everrrr (we love to fish... you'll see it... it's awesome). The crackling fireplace added to our "mountain ambiance" and the heater worked great to keep the cabin warm. The kitchen is fully stocked with all appliances (coffee maker/toaster/blender/pots and pans/cooking utensils/wine opener/crock pot/everything) and plenty of plates, coffee cups, glasses, etc. The guys cooked with the gas bar-b-q grill out back which had a full tank of propane. We had a beautiful lunch in the back yard on the cool table and benches. The hot tub felt magical after a day of snowboarding, nice and hot. Super convenient to be able to wash our bathing suits in the laundry room (full size washer/dryer). There are two comfortable bedrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs (both with doors, felt private). The upstairs bedroom has TV and a queen bed, and a twin bed nicely tucked into the wall, which is perfect in the event that you don't use it like us. We got a little warm in the upstairs bedroom but we used a small fan that was provided and were very comfortable (Bridget thought of everything!). There is one bathroom, fully stocked including a hair dryer. Location is perfect! It's a quick drive to the slopes, less than 10 minutes. We rented our snowboards from Scotty's Ride Shop down the street on Big Bear Blvd, less than a 5 minute drive, for only $25!! We picked them up the night before and dropped them off on our way back to the cabin when we were done since it's on the way anyway. Less than a 10 minute drive to Walgreens and Kmart. Plenty of room in the driveway for our two cars. Bridget has a list of very easy and clear instructions to follow for arrival and departure. We drove trash to dumpsters at Fire Department down the street, super easy (it's a Big Bear thing). Can't THANK YOU enough Bridget!! Your home is beautiful!
Quiet neighborhood with lovely lake view and tall lodge pole pines. Cabin could use some sprucing up on the exterior, Very tiny bathroom and tiny shower if you’re a 6’ guy.
We really enjoyed our stay. The location is stunning and the property is big and has many areas where kids can play. The only downfall to this property would be that it's bathroom is quite small and that the lighting in the living room is very dim. Overall., Bridget was amazing, the property is in a beautiful area by BB Lake, the property was super clean and you have an amazing jacuzzi which overlooks the lake!
This cabin near the end of a road was perfect for our family of three! It was quiet, quaint and cozy! It kept us warm and comfy while we enjoyed a few solid days of family fun watching shows, soaking in the hot tub and sliding down the little snowy slope in the backyard.
We cooked every night and the kitchen was well stocked for your basic needs!
Great communication from the owners and no issues at all on check-in and checkout.
Thank you for the memories!
Very Cozy Cabin! The cabin has everything you need for a vacation and great views of the lake. We enjoyed playing with snow just on the backyard and also enjoyed warming up by the chimney . Very close to Boulder Bay Park. Be prepared to make a two mile trip to the dumpster to deposit all trash at the end of your trip. Loved everything!
Such a cute little house. I highly recommend this house and location. What I will say is this.....The bathroom is beyond small. However this is how they were built back then so no complaints just an FYI. Absolutely love the authentic doors and windows. The house has an amazing fireplace and is completely stocked with everything you would need.
This was the perfect getaway for our anniversary. Everything was exactly as we had hoped. Communication was great and we had a fantastic time. We hope to make it back with (or without!) our kids next time.
We have rented this cabin many times over the past 11 years. We keep coming back because of location, location, location, and the friendly owner, Bridget.
Perfect and cozy cabin for a weekend getaway. The property is well maintained and the owner is very communicative. The Hot Tub was the highlight of the trip for sure.
We will be staying again!!!!!!!
Run-down and neglected property that is not even clean - Stay away
What a bust - this place shows years and years of deferred maintenance and neglect from the owner - Bridget. This place might have been nice decades ago but it is so outdated, run down and neglected - however the owner does not care at all.
Upon our arrival in September the Christmas decorations from last year were still up - well odd - unfortunately all dusty.
And so is the whole house - spider webs, dust, you name it. The carpet is ripped, a window covering that fell off is just leaning in the corner. The appliances in the kitchen are at least 30 years old, the plastic walls inside fridge have started to disintegrate - nobody should store food in there. A broken window that is covered with some plastic adds extra charm. The advertised BBQ was so filthy and has not been cleaned in a long time. The "newest addition to this gem" - the hot tub was not operational. Knobs falling off, the water murky, the hot tub cover water logged that it took 2 people to open it up. No human being should go in there.
We contacted Bridget right upon our arrival and all we got was lame excuses and that there is nothing for her to do. We had serious health concerns staying there as my wife is a high-risk individual and staying at a place that has not been properly cleaned during the COVID-19 pandemic is dangerous. Bridget accused us that we would be setting this up and we should not even be travelling if my wife is immune-compromised. What an insult.
We told Bridget that we can't stay under these living conditions and she told us we are free to leave but she would not refund us any money, not even the cleaning fee. We were at the property for about 45 minutes (half of the time with her on the phone). We left to find another place and before we even found another place Bridget removed the access code from the smart lock, effectively locking us out of the place that we booked for 5 days.
We can only warn any traveler to not book this place!
By far the worst short term rental experience we ever had in many years of travelling around the world.
This is a great little cabin for no more that 4 people. It was stocked with everything we needed, especially in the kitchen. Some good info for potential renters: There is no AC in this house, the 5 minute walk to the lake is along the busy highway.
The Jacuzzi and outside space was nice, but it would be more comfortable with better outside seating. Overall, a good stay and experience.
