This is an annual trip for my group of friends. 7 of us this year celebrating a friend’s milestone birthday. Ivana and Anthony are truly amazing hosts.
Cozy family home in a nice neighborhood, about a 15 minute walk to the main shopping area and minutes to local wineries. The house was clean and had all we needed for our stay. The host was easy to work with and she was quick to respond to questions and offer suggestions.
Lovely and spacious home near town. Lived up to all expectations - pictures and online description very accurate. Owners Ivana and Anthony were very responsive. Pool is spectacular - warm and clean! Kitchen well appointed, great for occasional meals. Four mature women each had their own room and were able to spread out! Highly recommended!
We are a group of 8 women friends who come to The Pines every February for a winter getaway. The owners are fantastic and go out of their way to make you feel so welcome. The home is large and spacious and beautifully equipped.
The property was perfect for our family vacation. The home is clean, in a good location and the beds are comfortable. The owners are very easy to access and they respond promptly.
What a fabulous house in an extraordinary location. It was the perfect fit for our family getaway. A true Niagara on the Lake property with old school charm but all the modern comforts to make it a truly special stay.
We had such an excellent weekend at The Pines!
The rooms were so cute and comfortable, the kitchen had everything you could need, the backyard with the pool (warm and clean) was perfect for an afternoon lounge.
Easy and lovely walk into the main town - ideal for a family or friends weekend!
The Pines was the perfect place for our group of 4 couples to relax, recharge and have some fun. The accommodations were lovely, stocked with everything you could need and just enough space for everyone. The location for wine tours was perfect! Ivana was wonderful to communicate with and really makes sure you are set up for an effortless stay. Would highly recommend!!!
I spent a lovely long weekend at The Pines in Niagara on the Lake with my family and friends.
The house is warm, clean, beautiful and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The owners are very pleasant, communicative and welcoming, we had plenty of space for the whole family. Conveniently located close to downtown and easy to get to. Absolutely would stay here again ☺️
Lovely looking, convenient to town, very well equipped. Everyone loved it. Having a keyless entry made life a lot easier for people who often go separate ways during the day.
The Pines is a well equipped, comfortable house for a stay in NOTL. While we had problems with the TV, the host was extremely responsive and helpful in getting it resolved.
Pretty much just as advertised. Nice, clean, and well stocked kitchen. Extra pillows and blankets, heated pool. Great location. All was perfect. Highly recommend.
From the reservation process to checkout this was an easy and wonderful place to visit. It's quiet and well decorated and provides plenty to work with in the kitchen. This is important for families with kids that constantly want to eat, lol! Location in a beautiful town was easy and the drive to Niagara Falls was along the river and a beautiful drive. We couldn't say enough about how much we enjoyed it.
The property was exactly as advertised- beautifully decorated and quite spacious. The kitchen was well stocked and the dining and living room area made it easy to have the whole group together. While it was early spring, we did enjoy some time outside on the beautiful patio - we can only imagine how fun it would be in the summer with the pool and cabana.
The owners were very responsive and easy to communicate with.
This is a great property for a couple of families or a girls weekend away.
We had a great stay at the Pines. It's located on one of the nicest streets in NOTL and is an easy walk to the main part of town. The house is beautifuly restored and very well furnished. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern fridge, stove and dishwasher. There was plenty of comfortable seating inside and outside for our party of 10. The master bedroom is spacious with an ensuite and a balcony overlooking the pool. The shower had a great shower head and my only suggestions would be to add a shower shelf for soap/shampoo and a mirror in the Blue Room. The hosts were very responsive and gave us an excellent recommendation for a special occasion restaurant. I would highly recommend a stay there.
We loved our stayed! Group of women celebrating 20 years of friendships. Great location. Kitchen well stocked and open space and pool enjoyed by all! Suggestions: need a mirror in BR at top of stairs / deck needs power wash(one woman fell on slippery surface bottom of stairs to deck). Was raining when we arrived and front entry paths were very very slippery. Oil the bathroom door with the largest BR - so squeaky. Maybe trim a few more trees to get a bit more sun on back pool area. Just a few suggestions. Would definitely reccomend THE Pines.
Simcoe Pines definitely has the charm one would expect in Old Town NOTL. Its location on a quiet intersection, but not far from Queen Street, made it very relaxing and convenient. The hosts were very welcoming, made communication quite easy and were quick to attend to our questions and requests. Overall, we had a relaxing and enjoyable week.
Pros
1 - comfortable patio, deck, and pool area
2 - kitchen generously stocked with equipment and other helpful supplies
3 - open style (spacious) kitchen and dining room area
4 - fast and reliable internet, really appreciated being able to stream music to the pool area
Cons
1 - we are people who like to read, do puzzles, and play games, so the general dim lighting in the house was problematic, notably on the first floor. Using lower brightness bulbs certainly provides charm, but at the expense of activities that benefit from good illumination.
2 - we typically cook breakfast and lunches in the homes we rent, and the stove (modern construction, antique look) had issues with the stovetop heat controls. Our hosts were quick to try to address these issues, but we still had challenges being able to set and adjust burner heat. A more permanent solution might be needed.
Ideas
1 - The first floor bedroom has a queen size bed, but is a relatively small room, especially for two people. As a result, there is very minimal space for storage, and no clothes drawers in the room. We'd suggest swapping the Bluebird room's full-size bed to the first floor room, adding a small clothes drawer, and moving the queen bed upstairs.
2 - the pedestal sink in the shared bathroom on the second floor has independent controls for cold and hot water, which makes it hard to get warm water. We just changing out the faucets to allow warm water control.
3 - we enjoyed ourselves in the patio/deck/pool area. We love all the trees on the property, but think there might be an opportunity for some judicious trimming of tree branches to enable a bit more sunlight to reach the pool.

Hi Keith,
Thank you so much for your review.
We are glad you had a relaxing and enjoyable time.
Unfortunately, our beautiful Heartland stove could not be repaired and has been replaced with a new stove.
Please note our main dining area has various dimmer settings operated through a remote or on the switch behind the front door.
We appreciate your suggestions, and we hope to see you in NOTL again.

Why they chose this property
20 years ago Niagara-on-the-Lake was ‘our place’ for weekly walks, morning coffees, and evening date nights during our 5 years of studies at Brock University. It was here we would sit and talk about our future and family. We always wanted life to bring us back to where we first fell in love; Niagara-on-the Lake. It has always been a special place for us.
Over the years we took weekend trips to NOTL with our children where they got to experience the beauty and unique charm of the Niagara region. In 2020 we were fortunate to stay at The Pines. It was at this time it became evident the entire family had fallen in love with Canada’s prettiest town. Upon learning The Pines was for sale, we knew it was a sign to plant our roots in Niagara-on-the-Lake forever and make it our home away from home. The previous owners have inspired us to continue their legacy and labour of love that they have created at the corner of Simcoe and Anne Street. We are excited to share this journey with you!
