Smooth check in. Comfortable stay. Very responsive host. Gorgeous, expansive view. Very close to ferry, however this did not detract from the peacefulness of the home.
Beautiful spot that is spacious and well equipped. We enjoyed watching the ocean action, swimming, kayaking, pickleball at the local community center, hikes, and pints at the brewery. Great place on a great island.
Beautiful home. Nightly sunsets, on the big deck, with a stunning ocean view. Very clean, comfortable and welcoming. Loved the private beach access and dog friendly fenced yard. Would 10/10 recommend to anyone asking about a place to stay on the slice of heaven that is Mayne island
Fabulous location on the water right by the ferry terminal on Maine island. So peaceful to relax on the front deck and watch all the boats harbour and sail back out to sea.The house design was friendly and comfortable inside .
Located right next to ferry terminal. Beautiful outer deck to watch the sun set. Mayne island is peaceful and quiet, best beach we found was Campbell Bay Beach.
The property is great and has all things needed for a relaxing and wonderful vacation, great deck to enjoy meals and the spectacular view, espcially enjoyed watching the family of sea otters at sunset!! The fenced yard was auch a great addition allowing us to enjoy having our dogs with us without worry. The hikes and brewery on the Island were also very much enjoyed. Irene was a great host and quick to respond to our inquiries!! Thanks for a great relaxing vacation!
We stayed for 10 days at this spacious cabin. We spent much of our time in the wide room overlooking Village Bay. When the weather was right we moved to the patio. Sunsets were often special.
We especially like the extra wide bathroom counter with plenty of room for our stuff.
The kitchen was more than adequate.
Mayne Island is a place to get away busy city life.
The cottage is spacious, clean and lovely. It has everything you could need to cook at home, including a bar b q on the back deck. It was quiet, peaceful and the fully fenced yard provided a safe space for our dog. The large windows bring in lots of light and the closed in porch suggests that retreats in bad weather could also be enjoyed because of the great ocean view and large windows.
Mayne Island boasts its own brewery, parks, some excellent local food venues and lots of interesting history. Locals are very friendly.
Cottage is private and cozy even being close to the ferry terminal. We came for rest and rejuvenation and got that and more. Views from the large deck, sundeck and staircase down to the water are breathtaking and you will be hard pressed to leave. Cottage furnishings are comfortable, well appointed decor with attention to detail. We saw seals, otters, birds of every sort and whales. Irene and Bob were attentive to our needs and provided helpful details and reminders upon arrival and departure. Island paradise served in a comfortable setting.
Had a wonderful week stay here. The house is spacious bright and clean. Fantastic views from all the main rooms. Sun room, large deck and patio are gems. Beach combing at low tide right from the yard was a morning ritual for us. Best beach for swimming was Campbell Bay with Bennett Bay being best for paddling as you can rent from the Lodge there. Not on some maps, but the best trail is at St. John Point but a walk through Mount Parke is a must as well. Wasn't in the cards for me, but I was wishing I had my bike to explore the island! The grocery store is well stocked. Be sure to check out the Japanese Gardens and spend a couple of hours at the brewery one day.
We were so pleased with the large space and location of this cottage. And everything you could want in the kitchen for cooking at home, including condiments, oil, etc. etc. So thoughtful and helpful. It was wonderful to have a fully fenced area for our dog, who greatly enjoyed all the new smells, and adventures to some of the beaches.
We had two very good lunches at the Mayne Resort, and the cinnamon cronuts at the bakery are addictive.
Irene was a pleasure to communicate with, and quickly responded to a couple of minor issues.
We had a very relaxing time….and did see several whales cavorting and spouting one day. A treat.

There is absolutely nothing to dislike about this property. There is wonderful preparation from the owners with very detailed communication about the inner workings of the place, it is very easy to find and when you walk through the front door, the view over the ocean simply takes your breath away. We spent hours playing games, listening to music and simply reading in this beautiful setting. It was perfect for four adults and they allow animals with a lovely backyard that is enclosed. Our relatives from the UK were blown away by both the quality and the situation of the home and we had such a wonderful time. I can't recommend the owners and the house highly enough. We had a wonderful time on this lovely island. Thanks so much.
We enjoyed the cabin very much. It is even nicer than the photos. The living room is very large and the enclosed porch at the back is a wonderful addition. The bathroom and bedrooms are large and the kitchen is well equipped. The view and back deck are spectacular. It’s is very close to the ferry terminal and a few times a day the ferries idle while they load and unload, which can be noisy. The rest of the time is absolutely serene. The yard is high up off the shore (hence the stunning view!) and to access the beach/shore, there are several flights of stairs that end with a final set that are winched up and down. We ended up blocking the access to those with a lawn chair as our dog kept trying to get to the beach. It is a lovely property and the owners were responsive easy to reach. Mayne is a great island which we will visit again. As others have noted, the Japanese gardens are a hidden gem.
If you are looking for a really quiet and relaxed location this is perfect. Beautiful large deck overlooking the ferry terminal and ocean. Sit back and watch ferries and amazing sunsets! Fully fenced and pet friendly.
We stayed for 1 week and we didn't want to leave! The home was clean, comfortable, and the location was wonderful - we watched the ocean from the sun-room, deck, living room, or bedroom, and watched ferries, fishing boats and sometimes even float planes come and go all day. Waking to the sound of the ocean was so refreshing, and going to sleep by the stillness of the evening was peaceful. Watching the bats come out at dusk was so cool too! Breakfasts and dinners on the back deck, feeling the sea breeze was so relaxing. The blackberries on the property were so ripe, we picked enough to make a pie and then some, which is something I've never done on vacation, and it was amazing! Everything on the island is a short drive away, so we saw almost everything and loved it all. Our hosts were so helpful, with details written out at the property, and all communication, whether by email or phone call, was handled so kindly. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
