Totally charming place. Feels like it’s being loaned to you by your favorite eccentric aunt. Very generous. For example, there’s plenty of firewood in a great woodshed adjacent to the house. They even provide a useful hatchet for cutting it up. Super location near the beach. This is a very special house. My family and I celebrated my 80th birthday there, and it was perfect.Don’t miss the terrific pastries, and perfect espresso at King Tide, formerly known as the Pacific Way Bakery & Cafe. Tom

Lovely, cozy, family friendly home away from home

Our family stayed at this warm and welcoming home over the July 4th weekend. The property manager, iTrip, is very attentive and responsive. The house was clean and ready for our arrival. It is in a great location - walking distance from the beach and the small town commercial district, near Raven, the local restaurant, Ziggy’s, the local ice cream and treats store and the terrific kids play area adjacent to the art center. Short drive to a world class public golf course. The views east and west from the house are great. We loved being there and will return as soon as we can.

We had a nice stay at this property. The living room was most comfortable and as we have rented many times in Gearhart, the location was very nice. Over the years we have thought it wise to look for the best properties to avoid any problems or issues. This property is listed as “exceptional” but I would not agree with this ranking.While it is a classic old Gearhart home and you can forgive the occasional oddity that comes along with historical locations there are glaring issues which are not “exceptional”. First off is that one shower, it is so tight it feels like a closet. The shower knob is old and takes time to get the setting correct, temperature can change back and forth during your time in there. It is so tight you almost have to remove your clothes before going in and the overhead exhaust fan sounds like a military helicopter is landing on the roof.The house can be historic but the shower doesn’t need to be. The kitchen utensils are ancient and look like they were purchased at a garage sale, whatever coating is on the pots and pans is deteriorating which makes them unattractive to put food in. Also, they are not kept in a closed cupboard but located on an open shelf next to the washer/dryer at floor level in a pet friendly house and I would not say the kitchen is well stocked. The only windows that look out to the ocean are dirt stained and one has what appears to be a BB hole in it. The term exceptional allows higher rent so i did expect more

The house was cute, comfortable and very well equipped and has a full wraparound porch with a view of the ocean. Gearhart is a cool and very quiet little beach hamlet that suited us quite well. Terrific visit.

Cute beach cottage!

Our family had an amazing stay here. Our second year in a row at this house and it didn’t disappoint! Super cute cottage feel, but also so clean and great views! The house also has a lot of stocked items (especially in the kitchen). Will definitely stay here again next summer!

Great Gearhart Trip!

Our group ranges from 8-80 and we couldn’t have had a better setup. Despite some rainy windy weather we’d rate our stay a 10. Plenty of room to curl up with a book, play games or watch sports on tv. Great amenities for cooking and sharing a meal around the family size dining table. And when the sun came out a spacious deck for more fun and food.

Cozy, homey and close to the beach!

My family loved our visit and we have frequented this cozy beach house many times. It is charming and homey with the wood-burning fireplace and picturesque views just 1 block from the beach. The claw foot soaking tub is a treat at the end of the day. The kitchen is well-equipped with pots, pans and utensils to cook whatever meals you want. We will return again in the near future!

This house really worked well for our group. The bedrooms were delightfully decorated and beds were comfy. Bathrooms conveniently located. Comfortable seating in the living room.
