Clean, comfortable, and like home. I really didnt want to come home for a few more days, but back to reality. We stayed as a family of 6 for a senior hs graduation trip for our oldest son. It has a perfect view and the access to the beach as well as other amenities in town were great. We love staying in Newport and Im glad we found this house. We will definitely stay again!

This is overall one of the most beautiful places we've stayed at. The view is stunning. The home is beautiful designed and the decor charming. Glimpses of the homeowners and family here and there makes you feel very comfortable and at home. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything you may need including a nice array of spices. The beds were all very comfortable and the linens soft and cozy. There are plenty of extra blankets and pillows. The furniture is in excellent condition and very comfortable. The house is well maintained and very clean. The balcony is fantastic! Plenty of chairs and a really relaxing space to watch the sun set. The fireplace worked perfectly to quickly take the chill off when needed. There is a really nice, private community access area to the beach that is a 5 minute walk from the house. Or you could drive and park in the little area before the trail if you don't want to walk. The beach was so clean and pristine and just amazing overall. The property management group is fantastic. I would recommend staying here.

Great spot!

We enjoyed a long weekend, with this as our home base. Great views. Easy access to the aquarium, south beach state park, nye beach, Bayfront, etc. Would stay here again!

I had an amazing girls trip with my adult daughters and granddaughter. Check in was fantastic. Super easy. Beds were comfy and the view was stunning. The only negative comment I could make is that the cookware needs to be replaced. The teflon coating is coming off and not safe to use. But, with that being said, I would absolutely return to this rental again and I would just bring a few things from home.

Great experience on the Oregon coast

We were looking for a house to rent while we visited the Oregon coast and we were extremely pleased with this find. Everything was as described or shown in pictures. Very comfortable.

Nice home, beautiful view but home smells musty

The home is as described, beautiful views. Beds are comfortable. Would have given it 5 stars if it weren’t for the musty odor. It improved some after airing out.

Grandkids at the Beach

Captain Jack's was perfect for our group - I brought three of my grandkids, ages 17, 12 and 8. There were plenty of beds and bathrooms for all. The location to the beach (a short walk) was perfect for them - they went back and forth often. We cooked a few meals in and the kitchen was very well-equipped. Everything we needed. Everything at the house worked as expected and we very much enjoyed the location and our stay!

Captain Jack’s - Ahoy Mates, you will enjoy,

Fantastic view of the water. Nice location in a part of the Oregon coast we haven’t seen much of. House is nice set up with kids’ room in the basement and two nice sized bedrooms upstairs. Lovely large living room and kitchen with good dining space. Never did find the way down to the beach, so ask ahead, but we were here in winter and it was raining anyway. Exceptional - will definitely stay again

Beach house

I choose the house to see sunset on the beach. That happened. House had everything we needed. Well taken care of. It smelled good even. Plenty of towels. Beds were comfortable. Path down to the beach. I’d stay again.

Stunning view and comfortable house

Overall our stay was great and we enjoyed the views despite the continuous rain (normal for the Oregon Coast at this time of year).Two pieces of feedback from all of us- 1) Time to upgrade the pillows. We all wished we would have packed our own as the pillows are old and very flat in every room. 2) Would have been nice to have either (or both) tinfoil or plastic wrap available in the kitchen.

Nice spot near Newport

We stayed here for several days for a family gathering. The house is older, but well kept. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking simple meals. We had a couple small maintenance issues, but they were very responsive and offered to fix anything same day. The basement bunk room isn’t the most inviting space, but offered the extra beds we needed. Overall, the house suited our needs, has a beautiful view, and we were happily with the responsiveness of the rental company. Close to Newport so very convenient. Would stay here again.

Great Family Get Away

This is a lovely house for a group. 2 bedrooms up with 2 baths. Sleeping for 5 down below (kids or teens best). Plenty of room on the deck for everyone. Room for all 6 of us to six comfortably in the living room overlooking the view. The only issue was that the refrigerator broke before we arrived. It was replaced with a different one in the same room. The only downside was no ice maker. Otherwise, it was a comfortable, roomy house.

Relaxing stay

Captain Jack's is a comfortable home with an incredible view. We had a week of relaxing coastal enjoyment and the house, although in need of a little updating, was very nice. A few things need to be noted: the sliding glass door to the deck is almost impossible to open and shut; the 3 plastic deck chairs are pretty flimsy and need replaced; the leather couches are getting pretty worn down; and although a bbq is noted, the one provided is unusable. It's small and rusted out. Still despite those items we enjoyed our time. Meredith Lodging was very prompt and helpful with our inquiries.

Great Ocean View Property!

We had a beautiful view and a comfortable stay. We had a small issue with the TV but the property management company was able to remedy the problem same day! I would recommend that they get some sort of disinfectant schedule for the dishwasher, we needed to run several clean cycles and physically clean out the filter to ensure it worked properly and was clean of mildew. I understand it's hard to do in a humid environment, but we did put some time into taking care of us so we didn't need to wash by hand. Aside from two minorish issues, we had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend!
