We live and work on Vancouver Island and and in our spare time we enjoy all the outdoor activities offered in and around Sooke: hiking in the hills and driving down the coast, kayaking on the Basin, cycling on the Goose and swimming in the beautiful fresh water lakes.

We love hosting because we love where we live and all that it has to offer. Sharing that with visitors is a real pleasure. In addition we have both worked in busy jobs and know how important a break can be to restore and recharge and we have kept that in mind with all the details in the cottage to help our guests relax and unwind during their stay with us.

Hare Cottage is just a 3-minute stroll away from the renowned Galloping Goose Trail. Cycle, stroll or run on this picturesque multi-use trail, formerly a railway line, that takes you on a 55-kilometre journey from Sooke to Victoria. Scenic water views of Sooke Basin await you just a 10 minute stroll from the Cottage along the trail.

The Stickleback Restaurant, with one of the best waterfront patios in town is within a leisurely 15-minute walk. Need to grab some essentials? Fear not, as a quaint grocery store and a convenient gas station are also just a short 15-minute walk away.

Nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers will find themselves in paradise with access to established hiking and mountain biking trails in the Sooke hills, all within easy reach.
