Very quiet neighborhood, a little challenging to find, but very friendly and helpful neighbors. Excellent location to Chester and amenities. We enjoyed our stay.
Sept. 28 thru Oct 1, 2026. Nice property inside! Finding it would be easier from the Duke Rd. Intersection. All facilities were fine, plenty of space, clean and comfortable. Nice to have washer/dryer full-size! Chester is a nice little harbor town, good food, too! Excellent access to Halifax, Peggy's Cove, and Lunenberg!
Clean, comfortable, quiet and a short drive to the very pretty town of Chester. Good hot water and nice laundry room. Allow time for the host respond because he doesn't respond immediately. The pillows weren't great so you might want to bring your own. There was no screen in the bedroom window and no working fan. The dishwasher wasn't hooked up. I wish there had been a table on the little deck outside because the light over the dining room table was too bright.
If I could give our hosts a thousand stars, I definitely would! The property was even more beautiful than we anticipated. The cottage has a whimsical feel with an amazing Nova Scotia flair to it. It's far enough from everything in Chester that it's an escape, yet close enough that you don't need to drive too far for any sightseeing. The farmers market was busy both Fridays we went (both early and near the end). Our hosts had everything we needed at the cottage to help us out while we settled in for our 10 day stay. The cats and racoon (lol) were a lovely addition. The neighbours were also pretty amazing!
We loved our stay with our two adult children and their spouses. This is a great spot close to many attractions, restaurants, bars and beaches. We would happily come here again.
This property is a hidden gem! It had everything we needed and we enjoyed its remote location. Super quiet and peaceful! Everything was very clean and comfortable. The space was a great size and the beds were very comfortable. It was a wonderful place to stay and we highly recommend it!

The hosts were so accommodating and made us feel welcome! Our kids and dog felt right at home - they have so many special little touches that make you feel like you’re not missing anything. We’ll definitely be back!
The home was clean and comfortable. I really appreciated that I was able to bring my dog with me.
I was there for a horse show and the location was super convenient.
Stayed here and used it as home base for day trips around the South Shore. Cute decor...so bright and cheerful. Didn't really use the kitchen (ate out), but seems well equipped. A very quiet spot - no traffic noise at all, so very relaxing and peaceful when we were here in the evenings. A little further than walking distance from Chester town (for older folks ) but very close to amenities and a very nice walking trail. Would book again. Thanks!!
The property was very quiet and surrounded by trees. It was a walkable distance to town, but sadly I couldn’t enjoy hiking the Chester Connection Trail not more than 500m away due to the fire bans. It was a great stay nevertheless. Thanks.

This property was close to events. Had lots of room and was well stocked with supplies. Was in the woods and private from neighbours.
The house is nice inside and has all the amenities you would expect. The location in the town of Chester is a great location. The town of Chester is amazing, there is easy access to the south shore and reasonable distance to drive into Halifax. Overall a great central location to explore Nova Scotia. The house suited our needs perfectly for the 9 nights we stayed there. I would definitely recommend it!
Very nice and comfortable. We were able to watch Red Green Show reruns and relax. The only problem we had was that one day before our stay was to begin, vrbo claimed we had no upcoming stays booked. That was stressful. It was not the fault of the property owner.
This property was a lovely place to stay for our time in Chester. Nestled among large trees and vegetation it creates the feeling of isolation while being close to Chester's selection of restaurants and amenities and being a comfortable 35-40 min drive to Halifax for visiting all of it's sights.
When in Chester checkout Jamal's pizza for yummy pies and Halifax style donairs, the Rope Loft for more upscale dining, and Kiwi Cafe for great selection of sandwiches for lunch.
I had a fantastic stay at this VRBO property! The accommodations were clean and comfortable, and the quiet location made for a perfect retreat. What truly stood out was the quick and fair problem-solving from the hosts. When I encountered a minor issue, they responded immediately and resolved it efficiently. Their dedication to guest satisfaction is evident. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with excellent support!
Very nice, lots of charm, nice welcome by cedar waxwing. We thought it would help if there were some printed instructions on site, e.g., for replacing water jug for drinking/cooking water, for heat exchanger, for what goes where in the green, blue, and gray bins. We would have appreciated an extra blanket in the bedroom for cool nights. The hosts were very responsive to questions.
This was a family vacation for a few days in NS. The cottage had ample space for our family of 5 - 3 teens, my wife and I. It is a quiet location, which I like for trips like this, I had some of the best sleeps ever. The town itself shuts down early, very early, so if you need things you are best to get them early. Would recommend venturing to near by Chester Basin for a meal at Seaside Shanty.
Depending on what you want to do, you are a bit of a trek from Halifax so plan accordingly but you have a great coastal drive back if you take the Lighthouse route which will also take you pretty close to Peggy's Cove which is a great stop.
The hosts were very responsive, no issues getting in or out of the cottage or finding things we needed. The only issue we had was with the VRBO app itself, which had nothing to do with the hosts.
Would stay again!
