3 min walk to exquisite Hermosa Beach! No roads to cross or hills to hike!

Located at Playa Hermosa (beautiful beach) which is the north end of Santa Teresa. Beautiful custom built, in 2009, 1 bedroom, bath, full kitchen. Artisan created windows & bamboo ceilings! Located just 750 ft to most amazing beach & surf around, only a 3 minute walk. Incredible living along with Surfing, Yoga & First Class dining in this cool spot at the north end of Santa Teresa-Malpais. We hope you enjoy our Special Spot! We also have Full Moon #674745 (2 bed, 2 ba) on the property for a larger group or rent both.
Spacious, open with all its windows, & very well equipped, Half Moon is a 3 minute walk(750 feet) to the beach, which is located at the north end of Santa Teresa, on the Playa Hermosa Beach access. It was custom built in 2009 with lots of bamboo & custom cabinets & doors, as one of our get-aways - now (January 2017) we find we are not there as often as we would like, so we will share our spots with you! Half Moon is perfect for 3 adults or 2 adults and a young child. The roomy, air-conditioned bedroom with a queen bed, has its own garden bathroom. Comfortably furnished, totally air-conditioned, the kitchen is fully equipped - refrigerator, range/oven, etc., and a safe for your valuables. Beautiful split bamboo lines every ceiling in the home. No alarms necessary! Outside are 2 patios to watch parrots, hummingbirds, iguanas, etc. No alarms necessary! The howler monkeys visit, sometimes twice a day! They troop along the treetops and graze on leaves and flowers of the trees on the property. The beautiful beach is about 700 feet away and only a 3 minute walk with no hills to climb and no roads to cross. You can call in for chef services, indulge in a massage at Spa Bambu, yoga or Pilates instructions at Pranamar or Flor Blanca, arrange surf lessons, go horseback riding at a nearby Eco farm, take a drive and discover why we built in this beautiful area of Costa Rica! We are around a 5-10 minute drive south, into the town of Santa Teresa. Malpais is another 5 minutes further south from Santa Teresa. We are 5 minutes to Manzanillo, which is to our north. Our area was featured in the New York Times Style Magazine - Travel in May 2016.

I grew up on Long Island and spent my summers at the beach. Will's father was in the Navy so his life has always been around water. In Virginia Beach when he was around 13 he started surfing and found his passion. When we are not in Costa Rica we live on the Outer Banks of North Carolina in Southern Shores. We live on a canal for kayaking and boating and moments from the Atlantic for Will's surfing, close to Duck, Corolla , Nags Head and an hour from Hatteras. We have been in the Property Management and Real Estate business for 25 years here founded 2 fantastic companies Corolla Classic Vacations (subsequently selling it in '08) & Corolla Real Estate. We know the importance of maintaining and upgrading. Our hearts are always in the arena of taking care of people and houses on the beach and providing the best vacations.

Why they chose this property

We first vacationed in Santa Teresa in 2004 and found a place we kept wanting to return to. In 2006 we purchased property on the Ocean in Manzanillo. Then we purchased this piece in 2007 and after careful consideration and collaborations we built Full Moon and Half Moon. We love the location because we can walk to the this beautiful beach. We chose this area because it still holds a relatively rugged feel with its dirt roads and low level development. People from all over the world live and vacation here. Because the area attracts surfers along with health conscience individuals it is forefront with Yoga Retreats Spas, and emerging trends for your body and soul. You will find it to be a very youthful and entrepreneurial area. Wonderful restaurants or chef services provide the best and freshest foods for ultimate dining. Our area was featured in the New York Times Style Magazine - Travel May 2016.

What makes this property unique

Half Moon is understated, but I believe it is also beautiful! Those bamboo ceilings are a constant reminder that you are in the tropics. Seeing the monkeys in the trees from your - awesome! We always meet someone new while we are here as everyone goes to the beach to watch the sunset before dinner.
