Private beautiful home with multiple settings for delightful conversations-a library, a solarium, a three season porch, a patio, and a fire pit! Close to Stillwater with all its shops and sights and high end dining sure to please (Lowell Inn and Lake Elmo Inn)!

Our experience with this little hobby farm was absolutely incredible! We loved everything about it, from the relaxation of the solarium to the incredible walks around the property. The weather was beautiful and it truly felt like an escape from the city even though it is just minutes away from any convenience we needed. My adult kids came for a few gatherings and brought their guitars to play and sing in the barn and I have to say that the acoustics in there along with how clean and inviting it is to hang out just made the trip so much fun! We'll absolutely love to return to this wonderful property!

Amazing Cedar Grove Company Retreat

This was my first VRBO experience and it was amazing. The place was extra clean, spacious and very comfortable. It was so beautiful inside and out, with lots of wonderful touches and our host was very helpful and welcoming.

Beautiful location. Entire property extremely clean. Bedroom layout perfect for our group. Lots of room for entertaining. Fireplaces throughout. Convenient to picturesque (decorated for Christmas) Stillwater and St. Paul (some attended Jr. Hockey Tournament). Although December, some walked the groomed trails throughout the 14 acre property. The home itself, as well as the decor, were just loaded with character

We had a great time! Family and friends, ladies weekend. The place was beautiful inside and out! Very quite and full of natural beauty. We all enjoyed our time together. Would love come back!

House was very beautiful and had nice rooms/decor/outdoor areas. Upstairs bedrooms were small with some cramped headroom. It was difficult with 6 of us to only have one shower, but we enjoyed it! We would stay there again with smaller group.

From the owner: "Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are glad that you enjoyed the property inside and out. We have a unique property from 1856, and we have enjoyed it very much. We have 3 nice-sized rooms and 1 cozy but comfortable private room with a single bed. The upstairs bedrooms have sloped ceilings, so the “bunk room” with 4 single beds we show to accurately reflect space. The bathrooms: 1 standup shower, 1 bathtub with a shower head, and one half bath on the main floor."

Family girls’ weekend

We really enjoyed the property! We had 8 people in our party and everyone raved about it. There was plenty of space, charm, and it was in a great location. It had a private country feel to it yet we were less than a 10 min drive to downtown Stillwater. The hosts were very responsive, thorough, and thoughtful!

This is a gorgeous property! There were 6 adults and 2 small children and we made the most not only of this home, but also nearby activities. The private walking paths were great...perfect for a quick walk or a not so quick walk with a 3 year old. One of the favorite rooms was the solarium and we made use of the big fire pit and the projector in the barn for a night of karaoke. We all left refreshed!

some improvements needed

So much was excellent about this house except the exposed metal from partially removed heating along floor, ugly and dangerous. The only shower is in the master bath, the upstairs tub has a hand held hose like faucet that really does not work like a shower, the narrow stairs to the second floor were also dangerous, no handrail.

We have addressed the exposed metal from the old heating floorboards to ensure safety and comfort. The upstairs bathroom features a classic claw-foot tub with a handheld shower head, and the large, updated shower is located in the master bath.The stairwell is narrow due to the home’s historic design, but we’ve added a custom metal handrail to improve safety for our guests. We appreciate your comments as they help us continue to enhance the guest experience."

The cottage itself was absolutely adorable—cozy and quaint, with all the modern conveniences you could ask for. It felt like a perfect blend of rustic charm and contemporary comfort.The sleeping arrangements were fantastic, with plenty of space for everyone to relax and get a great night’s sleep. Whether we were lounging in the cozy living room or gathering around the table for meals, there were so many lovely areas to spend time with friends.
