Rustic comfort. This charming pre-Civil War log cabin is nestled deep in the woods close to the entrances of biking and hiking meccas Pisgah National Forest and Dupont Forest, and the mountain town of Brevard with its several fine restaurants. The completely renovated interior features a fireplace on each floor, with a kitchenette equipped with a mini-refrigerator and a number of portable cooking appliances, comfortable family room, and full bath on the first floor. There is a spacious second floor bedroom with two bunks, each with a single on the top and a double on the bottom, and a king bed which can be partitioned off for privacy. There is also a half bath on the second floor. A washing machine, dryer and full refrigerator are located under the first floor, and there is a charcoal grill in the attached garage. The cabin has a furnished porch overlooking the enclosing woods and includes access to a spacious split-level deck nestled in mountain laurels, perfect for cocktail hour or a big family supper. If more than eight are in your party, Civil War era Aunt Babbie's Cabin is steps away, sleeping three (five, if the pull-out sofa bed is used), with one bathroom and a full kitchen.Amenities:

Sara’s Cabin was delightful, just what we desired. Our only recommendation is to make sure you arrive in daylight as the road to the cabin is challenging !

The cabin, and surrounding area was beautiful. The drive is a bit sketchy at night. Missed the driveway, but figured it out (small house number markers on trees. Keep a sharp eye out). Cell service is almost non-existent, so save all you maps in your phone. There is no wifi, so trying to get directions online before you leave cabin is not an option.Overall the stay was great! Love the privacy and quiet, and the old rustic cabin vibe.

Beautiful rustic secluded and romantic cabin. Friendly and helpful staff
We had a great time at Sarah’s Cabin. The location is very private if you book the adjacent property. The cabin is perfectly rustic yet with modern amenities. Pleased in every way. Would definitely book again.

We loved Sarah’s Cabin! Great experience especially given the COVID circumstances.
We loved Sarah’s Cabin! Great experience especially given the COVID circumstances.
This cabin is beautiful and is in a secluded spot hidden amongst the trees. We loved the porch and its rocking chairs, the garden, the dark night skies, and the super cool tree bunk beds with chalkboards! The cabin is not too far from the downtown area of Brevard, which is pleasant and quaint. It is a bit difficult to get to the cabin due to its secluded location, so make sure you arrive before dark. Also, we had excellent communication with the property manager, especially when we got a bit lost. We will be back with more people next time!

Consider adding a "Know Before You Go" section to your confirmation.
Consider adding a "Know Before You Go" section to your confirmation. It would be a shame if someone was disgruntled with this fabulous cabin because they had inappropriate expectations. Consider something like the following to your confirmation:
- Wet bar has toaster oven, microwave, drip coffee pot, and blender. No kitchen. Plan for a counter-height fridge.
- TV is via antenna; DVD player in living room.
- Located on a gravel road.
- Kids should bring water shoes or old sneakers to explore the creek.

This was the most amazing trip.
This was the most amazing trip. Our kids will remember this time with our family for along time. We enjoyed everything about the cabins and the thoughtful amenities for us to have there that we didnt think of or need to purchase. This is such a beautiful cabin words cannot describe how beautiful and quaint it is. friendly

Loved that we could text a question and get a quick response!
This was a great private cabin. Sarah’s Cabin is spacious and beautiful. The private gravel road has a creek that is walkable distance. Property manager arrived without advanced notice which is ok but since I didnt know them, was concerned. Kitchen lights weren’t working but I did let property manager know when he arrived unexpectedly. Checkout instructions in cabin were different from ones received in email. Overall, we had a great stay. It was wonderful and we would return!

Very nice, just we were looking for a couple of nights. Very charming. We might be reluctant to stay much longer than 2-3 nights, though, due to lack of adequate kitchen facilities. That said, it was perfect for our short-term needs and we'd stay again.

Wonderful property.
Wonderful property. Just what we were looking for. My critique items are the following: Only about a 1/4 roll of toilet paper when we got there for our week stay. Didn't even see a toilet roll holder in the downstairs bathroom. Kinda weird. Although we didn't go on vacation to watch TV it would be nice if the TV in the living room was on a swivel mount so you could orient it to the sitting area better. Terrible set up for watching TV. Not sure if there is recycling service or not. If so it should be annotated better in the house information or the trash cans marked better. We ended up bagging our recycle trash and riding with it for 7 hours until we got home. I can understand the instructions for having guest clean their own dishes but I would just let your cleaning services strip the beds.

Wonderful mountain place to be!
We rented this place with our kids (14, 10, 10) and loved it! The cabin itself is super-neat and comfortable. The owners have added a lot of interesting touches (vintage decorations, lots of porch sitting furniture, portable fire pit for the terrace, porch dining table, etc.). There is a smaller cabin next door that you could also rent if you had a large group needing a full kitchen. Very comfortable with extra blankets, towels, washer/dryer, etc. The kids loved the creek (walk down the access road) with teeny waterfall. Bring water shoes or old sneakers for kids to wade in the creek. We can't say enough good things about this place and its charm and comfort. The owners have gone out of their way to make staying here special. They may stop by and leave you fresh flowers or tell you more about how the cabin was moved, re-built, and decorated (which you will be curious about). Photos posted don't do it justice.
The cabin is only 15-20 minutes from downtown Brevard and 25 minutes from Sliding Rock and Mirror Falls. It's out in the country/mountains, but close enough for day trips. Stop by the Brevard Visitor Center to get maps of local waterfalls and other explorations. Key pickup/return was in downtown Brevard and was super fast (less than a minute).
Know before you go: There is a nice wet bar, but no kitchen. We cooked on the grill, toaster oven, and microwave just fine, but plan menus accordingly. The fridge is counter-height, so bring a cooler for food storage or plan accordingly if you plan to stay out here for many days without restocking. TV is via antenna, so bring DVDs if you need media. (RedBox machines at Walmart, Ingles). The last mile or so is a gravel road that is a little hilly and had a few (avoidable) ruts from a recent storm, so don't plan to drive your Lamborghini (fine for minivan or regular car).

Beautiful, serene location with perfect mountain charm
Wow! The story of rebuilding this beautiful cabin is incredible! The owners have captured mountain cabin with modern amenities. It is so peaceful! The location is convenient to trails and downtown Brevard but tucked away. We explored the property and spent a lot of time on the porch! Kids were disappointed for about 5 mins with no WiFi. They realized being outside was amazing! We took games and enjoyed family time at table on porch. The other house on property is pretty close so glad no one was renting it. It would be great to have multiple families in the two houses together though! Beautiful fire pit area shared by the two.
We will definitely be back!

Amazing Cabin!
My husband and I loved our visit to Sarah's Cabin. Hope did a great job of checking us in and even made a special trip to the cabin the first night to replace a battery in the smoke alarm! The charm of this cabin is amazing. We enjoyed fires in the fire place, eating out on the beautiful deck and hiking up the road along a stream seeing several small waterfalls. The kitchenette was not a problem and the fridge although not a full size was plenty spacious enough for our items. We had the special treat of meeting the owners who were so gracious and friendly. We would highly recommend this cabin!
