Wonderful stay in a charming and comfortable cabin in a private, peaceful location. The cabin was very clean and had all the necessities including linens and towels (bonus for us on MC's). Outdoor decking and furniture allowed for relaxing views of well maintained property and surrounding forest. We would definitely stay again!
This small cabin was a perfect place to relax after hiking all day. It was clean and the furniture and beds were comfortable. The air conditioner was much appreciated on the 90 degree day. I am glad I arrived before dark as it would have been a little difficult to find without daylight. It was about 10 miles to the Barnard General Store that had everything I needed to stock the fridge. I would definitely stay again.
This was one of the best properties I've rented on VRBO. It was very roomy and had a great homey feel to it. It was beautifully decorated to remind you that you are on vacation in a VERY secluded location. Everything we needed was available and had a great internet connection so my wife could conduct an online training. Despite being far from supermarkets we got a fantastic selection of food options from the Barnard General Store and Kiss The Cow farm (HIGHLY RECCOMENDED!) and cooked nearly all of our meals at the cabin. Beds were extremely comfortable and such a great place to just "hang" and take a break from your life!
Norma was incredibly responsive, has a great stocked cabin, and was exactly what we needed to unwind and relax. Follow her directions to get there - and do it in the daytime - but do yourself a favor - book this place!
We had a great time at Norma’s cabin. It was a nice getaway in the country and the cabin had everything we needed. I didn’t realize from the listing that neither of the bedrooms had doors but I might have missed that. Norma was great to communicate with. Thanks for a great stay!
We decided to "runaway" from the craziness of Covid and this was exactly what we needed. Board games, playing ball in the beautiful manicured lawn, and star gazing and/or satellite searching on the porch. Silver lake was a breath of fresh air, a sense of "normality". The cabin is clean and comfortable! Norma is very easy to work with and gets back to you with any questions very quickly, this was our second time here and will definitely be back!
This beautiful cabin sits on a quiet wooded hillside. It’s interior is northwoods charming and everything you could imagine for a comfortable stay has been thought of. It is a great base for exploring Vermont and a comfortable, cozy place to return to in the evening. A farm store, Kiss the Cow is a half mile down the road and is filled with local meats and produce and had the best homemade ice cream on the planet. If you are looking for quiet beauty at a great location this is the place.
Second time staying! Love the nice little touches, upgrades. Peaceful, beautiful, comfortable, nice to unplug. We had an absolutely amazing time here!

Like a dream!
We just got back from our stay at Mountain Meadows and I can’t say enough great things about the place!
I stayed with my husband and our two young children, ages 3 and 4. The cabin was comfortable, very clean, and beautifully maintained. We loved everything about it! The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of cookware and some pantry items.
There was also plenty of room to spread out and get comfy, games to play, books to read, or coffee to enjoy on the deck.
The property was so gorgeous! Also beautifully maintained, there were many features we loved exploring, the gnomes, the fire pit....
And the stars!!! Oh my the stars!!!!! Coming from the greater Philadelphia area, we have a lot of light pollution. We were lucky to have clear nights to see so many stars, meteors, and the Milky Way!
Thanks for sharing your lovely home with us! We can’t wait to return next year!

Gorgeous all around! We would definitely go back!
Beautiful property inside and out. House has more room than you'd expect. Great layout to move around in. Give it 4.5 out out 5, only because we had to clean the frig and grill upon arrival. Minor detail. If you want peace and quiet, to relax and unwind, this is the place to get away from the busy life.

Get away from it all
We had a great time at this cozy cabin! I was glad we read past review that suggested finding cabin during the day, directions given by owner were fantastic, but it is out of way so day arrival would be smart. We have a naturally loud family so it was relaxing not to have to shush family every 2 minutes, the kids had a fantastic time playing in the yard and then at dusk the thrill of possibly seeing a bear or moose kept us all amused. Cabin was very clean and had all the amenities that one would need. Highly suggest going to Silver Lake state park, it was so serene, and again, kids loved swimming in the very clean lake. A fantastic find was literally a mile from cabin, on Friday and Saturday nights a farm down the dirt road has a band and a cantina in a field, bring a chair/blanket and relax! All in all we will be back: it was a much needed, away from it all, no cell phones/service, just family time...that was much needed before the craziness of school starts again! Thanks for your hospitality!

Wonderful getaway
My husband and I and our 3 adult children stayed four nights in this charming cabin in the woods. It is secluded yet it is an easy and scenic ride to Woodstock, Quechee and surrounding areas.
It is a great place to unplug and unwind. We enjoyed the beautiful Vermont fall during the day and had bonfires, watched movies and played games at night.
Norma, the owner is very easy to work with. The cabin is very clean and well stocked with kitchen supplies and extra linens and blankets if you need them.
It is a great place to get away from it all

Quiet Cabin in the Woods
We stayed for a week at the beginning of June. The weather was super and the cabin was adorable. I would not advise trying to find it in the dark the first time. Thankfully my sister lives there and had scouted it before we arrived. The kitchen had everything you could ever need and the movie selection was pretty good. The bathroom was nothing to write home about but it got the job done. The cold water is so cold it makes your hands hurt when you wash them. Loved the cabin and would rent it again with no problem.

Great Place, Great Deal
This review is a bit belated by 1.5 years, regardless...my family and I were in Barnard for a wedding in Oct of 2013 and stayed in this cabin. It was perfectly ample for our small family and could accommodate much more. It was a comfortable and simple cabin with everything we could need. The wood stove was kid proofed and we found toys here and there for toddler fun. Wood was also readily available to keep the cold at bay during the late October nights. We live in the high Sierras of California and are quite used to chilly nights and making fires. Some might consider this a rustic feature but we felt right at home. We will definitely book here again for our next trip to the area.
