5* Property, Lovely Hosts and a Stunning Location

We had a fabulous stay. Sandra and Any are delightful hosts and gave us some top tips about the local area. The house itself is wonderful - truly a 5* property - and we can't wait to return.

Maidensea House family weekend

A spacious and well maintained house in an idyllic setting. Spectacular views from the house down to the sea at Maidencombe. We had a superb family weekend for 11 people and no-one wanted to leave - we hope to return for another stay sometime.

The stay was really nice. Te property was amazing with delightful views. The location was amazing with nice local pubs and the most amazing coastal walks. The whole family had a great time and even when it rained we were able to make use of the cinema and games room, meaning that every day was a full on holiday day. Champagne Ladies

What can we say other than “absolutely fabulous “. The house is amazing with beautiful views and facilities. Every bedroom is a good size so no one felt disadvantaged . The pool is perfect and beautifully warm . A big advantage is the local pub where we enjoyed a wonderful Sunday Roast . We felt very privileged to stay here and will visit again .

Excellent

We had an excellent weekend helped by the weather and also the facilities that the property offered. Even if it had rained the use of the heated pool, cinema room and the games room would still have gone down well. Our only small moan would be that my wife found it difficult to get out of the lounge settees. Would definitely recommend it to others.

My stay

My overall view of this property is 10 out of 10. The only thing i could pinpoint that was wrong for me, as a wheelchair user was that the downstairs bed was too high and that there wasnt a shelf to put toiletries on in the shower which proved difficult for me. The house is beautiful and has got everything that you need for a relaxing holiday, and the children loved the pool and exploring the gardens. I would recommend this holiday home to anyone. Thankyou for letting us stay

Paradise in Devon

We rented this fabulous holiday home to accommodate our extended family of 7 adults and 4 Granddaughters for our 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration. The accommodation is exceptional with modern facilities and styling including state of the art kitchen and en-suite bathrooms. All rooms were immaculately clean and exceptionally comfortable. The indoor swimming pool and games room are superb and very popular with the whole family ( aged 11-76). The local beach and period Tavern are excellent diversions. Many thanks to our hosts, Anthony and Sandra, for an outstanding and memorable visit to this exceptional house and garden including a Devon cream tea waiting on arrival.

Thank you so much for your review, it was a pleasure meeting you and your charming family as it was just this sort of group we had in mind when we first started looking for Maidensea House. It took us 5 years to find a property with the potential to match our dream, and another 3 years to complete it, so it is very gratifying to hear that it worked for you. I hope your further travels went well, and wish you a safe trip home. Happy New Year, and hope to be able to welcome you back in the future.

Large country house in idyllic setting

The property was exactly as described. We were a family of 10 with 6 additional family members joining for the odd night during the week. There was ample room for everybody. The house is beautifully appointed with all the basics we needed. We would love to return one day. The pool was a huge success with the children. The local pub is an easy walk. The small pretty beach and coastal walk are only slightly further on but they are a more strenuous walk due to the steps and hills required to access them. This should not deter any normally fit person. The views from the house are gorgeous especially when the sun hits the sea. I can’t overstate the beauty of the place. The owner is responsive and proud of his property which is why it’s so well cared for. Access to the property is a Devonshire country lane which comes with challenges but careful drivers will not have a problem. A mirror on the opposite side of the road at the entrance would be my only suggestion for improvement. We loved it. Thanks you to the owners for allowing us to stay.

Beautiful house, beautiful views!

The owners Ant and Sandra couldn’t be more helpful if we needed them in any way especially for us leading up to our stay was so easy to contact and help. The house is beautiful each room well equipped, the views are something you don’t want to leave, the pool the kids loved as well as the games room! For us it was the area have to drive to most places and roads are narrow and steep apart from a pub and cafe at the bottom of the hill and a tidal beach that’s all you have , parking down the bottom down the hill in peak times is quite impossible unless super early or late! For us would of been good if we could of strolled along the beach with more bars/cafes etc! But with this being said the property is stunning and we didn’t want to leave just got to be happy to drive with having a family especially!
