If you can handle 32 steps up to the door, you are in a beautiful, spacious and clean apartment. The Oltrano location is a refreshing oasis from the city center of Florence yet an easy walk to the manor sites. The neighborhood has many small but very nice restaurants as well as groceries if you want to stay inWhen we had trouble with the hot water, the management company was quick to respond and fix the problem.
This was a perfect apartment for my weeklong vacation in Florence! Walking distance to all the major attractions, but right across the river in a quieter neighborhood. Convenient to bars, restaurants, groceries and laundry facilities. Quiet place to get some rest after a busy day, and also close enough to head right back out after a short break if you prefer. Great host, easy check in, apartment exactly as advertised. Grazie!!

Thank you for your positive review! We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the apartment. We will be happy to host you again!
The property is just as described. The neighborhood is quiet enough but also centrally located to walk anywhere desired. I really appreciated the communication for checkin with Lesia, she was extremely helpful. Would recommend this stay to anyone. The only thing that I would have asked for additionally was to have the detergent on hand so that we could easily do a load of laundry.
Our family of 4 stayed 2 wonderful nights at Casa Carolina. The place is spacious with all the modern amenities. We made good use of the washer/dryer to catch up on our week long load of laundry. Our beds were very comfortable and my wife wished she know where to get the pillows. The shower water got really hot and really cold, we learned to set the water flow not too high. This seems to keep the water temperature constant. The neighbors were quiet. There is a wonderful little grocer just next door and location wise...just a short walk to the bridges. For the value, location, and overall stay experience, I would recommend everyone to stay at Casa Carolina.
I usually try to submit positive reviews but I’m afraid there were simply too many problems with this apartment from the moment we arrived. Overall it is very basic and with very little attention to the essentials: air conditioning was not operating; there were very few kitchen essentials (no basic condiments, no basic equipment eg saucepans) no kettle and no way to we could even use the very limited electrical equipment that was there (such as very basic bench top griller) due to the lack of appropriate adapters to their own power sockets, a number of lights do not work, the gas cooktop was not operational, and window fly screens in disrepair in some places The property manager arranged assistance with delivery of power adapters, repair of cooktop, correction of air conditioning, replacement of light globe and delivery of saucepans and an electric kettle. The lead up to this was disappointing and time consuming. This was not the start to our stay in Florence that we hoped for, nor what we anticipated given the description of the apartment (and the price). It is difficult to imagine that these problems were new, and gave the impression that there was little maintenance, that the apartment had not been used recently and that there was little regard for the comfort of customers. The location is good.
We had a good stay at this VRBO in Florence, especially if you’re looking to experience a more local, non-touristy side of the city. The neighborhood had a relaxed, slower pace and was surrounded by great restaurants, bakeries, and supermarkets, which made it really convenient for everyday needs. The apartment itself is on the 2nd floor (about four flights of stairs) with no elevator. This wasn’t an issue for us, but it’s something to keep in mind for anyone with mobility concerns or lots of luggage.Inside, the space was well laid out (if is not pulled out into a bed as it then blocks the door). The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed to cook meals and make coffee each morning, which we really appreciated. Communication with the management company was smooth and responsive—they even dropped off toilet paper quickly after it was accidentally missed during setup. There were a couple of downsides worth noting. The couch isn’t the most comfortable for sleeping, so if you’re planning to use it as a bed, just be aware. Also, there’s a small dog next door that barked quite a bit from the mornings into the afternoons, which could be a bit disruptive at times.Overall, a solid stay in a great local neighborhood—especially for those wanting a more authentic Florence experience.
