About this property

Stylish Victorian 2 Bed Townhouse

Stylish Victorian terraced house on a private road in the Oxfordshire market town of Banbury.

Enjoy the cosy living room with wood burning stove, the sunny courtyard, or a walk in the local countryside.

The house is an easy walk from the station and very well situated to visit Bicester Village, Silverstone, Aynhoe Park, Blenheim Palace, and the Cotswolds villages.

The station with fast trains to London, Oxford, and Birmingham is within 10 mins walking distance.

I spent many happy years living here as my sole residence and have been lucky enough to be able to keep the house as a retreat and a holiday let for others to enjoy. This house is packed with period charm, which we’ve carefully and sympathetically modernised. You have full access to the house and will find it to the standard of a well-equipped bed and breakfast without the awkwardness of feeling you're in someone else's house, as it is used solely as a holiday home.

There’s a brand new bathroom with a fantastic shower, wooden sash windows throughout, a Morris & Co tiled fireplace, and a bright courtyard garden.

The house isn’t child-proofed and may not be suitable for young children or those with limited mobility. The fire doesn’t have a guard and the stairs are steep without a gate. Please take this into consideration and feel free to ask me for more details.

NB - one or two pictures are from before I had the floors done. Wooden flooring throughout downstairs now!

The property has one parking space - but it’s not a very large one! If this might be a problem for you, please take a look at the photos in the listing and the reviews from my previous guests for more information.

Holiday base
The property was ideal for exploring the surrounding area. Parking was tight, any vehicle larger than a mid-size SUV would stuggle to park. A very minor fault, Property was clean.

A lovely place to stay
Perfect for our one night stay. The road was a little tight as we have a longer car but we managed. The house is beautiful and we loved it thank you.

Lovely compact house
The house is small but very nicely decorated, with lots of lovely touches to make your stay comfortable and an excellent ground-floor bathroom. We had a little trouble finding it at first, as we arrived after dark. Milton Street is very narrow and we drove past it twice without spotting it but once there it was fine! Lauren was a very friendly host and answered our pre-arrival questions quickly and efficiently.

Ours was a two night stay to visit friends nearby.
They property was clean and stylish. It has its own parking spot, but a small car would be better, as it is on a very narrow country lane. It has a lovely atmosphere, with a small enclosed courtyard for if you take the dog. Great stay.

About the host

Your host

Host profile image
I'm fairly new to VRBO but I've been hosting on another platform for a few years now. I hosted hundreds of guests and have been lucky enough to stack up an average 4.9 star rating. As a host, I welcome you as I would a friend. My house isn't soulless & sterile, it's a real home filled home comforts & personality. I've done everything I can to make sure you feel taken care of as soon as you arrive.

Why they chose this property

I'm not local, I moved to North Oxfordshire from Yorkshire almost 10 years ago. It's a great location to visit, the town is an easy walk from the house with lots of bars and restaurants. You're on the doorstep of The Cotswolds and the surrounding countryside is absolutely fantastic. For those travelling for work, we've hosted lots of professionals and the house is geared up with everything you might need. We're very handy for, and have hosted lots of people working at Bicester Village, Soho Farmhouse, Silverstone, Horton General Hospital and of course the many businesses based in Banbury.

What makes this property unique

Everything about my house has personality in mind. It's been sympathetically modernised whilst maintaining and re-instating period features. I've made sure to include everything you might need (including everything you've forgotten to pack) so you'll find a well stocked kitchen and bathroom, full laundry facilities, fast Wifi, a TV equipped with streaming services, cosy bedrooms, and pretty much everything you need to feel at home straight away.
