The location was great for ease to getting to the trails and restaurants. Communication was easy. We enjoyed all the space for our family. The hot water in the shower was slightly difficult for me to figure out. The washer was unfortunately broken.

Linsey and her family were truly lovely, and it was a pleasure meeting them and hosting them. Just a note about the washing machine, which wasn't included in the March bookings because it was out of order, but it will be restored soon.

The apartment is on the top floor. It has 2 bedrooms and one bathroom. It worked out for our family of four, however, the bathroom is tight. The apartment is on 2 floors as well and has an outdoor rooftop patio accessible by ladder. It had everything we needed, however, even though the photos show a washing machine, it is out of order. The host, Matteo, is very nice and helpful. He provided many recommendations that were very good. Monterosso is a very nice walkable town. The train is roughly 10 minutes walk to the apartment. Some of the other towns were much more pitched and required hacking uphill or many steps which was lovely but it would be tedious with luggage. Overall this is a great spot I would recommend.

I thank Paula for the report: at the same time I would like to point out that the washing machine was replaced at the beginning of May 2026, therefore it is new and works perfectly. Regarding the stairs, I also want to point out that the 5 Terre and Monterosso are typically characteristic towns where there are no city-style apartments, so the stairs are a typical feature. Despite this, the apartment is very large, comfortable and the stairs are easily accessible.

We had such an AMAZING stay in the rental apartment located in a perfect location of Monterosso Al Mare. Everything was just as listed on the ad. We were able to walk everywhere from the apartment easily to/from the train station, to the beaches, to shopping, delicious restaurants and the grocery store is just steps from the apartment entrance. The AC and ceiling fan were life savers with the heat we experienced in June, we were very comfortable. We stayed 3 nights and looking back, wished we would have stayed longer. On our two week trip, we visited Milan, Monterosso, Vico Equense (Amalfi Coast) and Rome and my husband, two adult daughters and myself all agreed that Monterosso was our favorite location/stay. Matteo was so helpful from the time we met to the time we departed. He also was very helpful with advice for navigating to the apartment using the train system from Milan (using WhatsApp). He helped carry luggage to the apartment while giving us a tour and recommendations on the way from meeting at a restaurant nearby. He treated us like family and was avail to answer texts the entire stay. We loved sitting up top on the Terrace and we used the Laundry machine a couple times, so helpful! Everything in the apartment worked properly with no issues at all. We are so grateful for Matteo and this unforgettable stay on our first time to Italy. We highly recommend and hope to go back again someday.

Great location to visit Cinque Terre. We enjoyed the room, including the rooftop porch with great views for sharing a bottle of wine. Matteo was a fantastic host. He was very responsive to questions and helped with dinner choices.

Matteo’s flat was absolutely perfect. He had everything we would possibly need - oil and vinegar for salads and cooking, coffee for the mornings, extra pillows and towels. The rooftop terrace was perfect. We could have sat there all day and night taking in the sea and the small town. All of his recommendations for food were perfect. Be sure to visit his family’s restaurant as well as the one right across the street. We got takeout from there our first night and dined Al fresco from the terrace and it was perfect. Also rent an umbrella and chairs from bar bagni for a wonderful day at the beach. It was perfect. Thank you, Matteo, for being such a gracious host!

We absolutely loved this stay on our trip to Italy. Matteo is the best host I’ve ever encountered. He met us close by the apartment, was extremely friendly, helped us with the luggage and wanted to be sure we had the best trip ever. The apartment was even better than expected with the roof top patio being amazing. When we left, Matteo met us for coffee in the morning, took some photos and showed his appreciation. We would 100% return when we come back to Monterosso. Thanks to Matteo for making our vacation extra special and also connecting us with discounts at certain establishments.
