About this property

A house like a boat – living the sea in the heart of Monterosso

Submerge yourself in the beauty of the sea at our cherished coastal retreat, thoughtfully designed to exist in harmony with its surroundings. As Frank Lloyd Wright once said: "No house should ever be on the sea or on anything. It should be of the sea. Belonging to it. Sea and house should live together, each enhancing the other."

Our home, long enjoyed by family and friends, has welcomed Vrbo and HomeAway guests since 2015. Every detail—from our personal touches to the carefully chosen furnishings—creates a sense of belonging. Guests often tell us they feel less like visitors and more like residents of Monterosso.

Perched on a rock in the heart of the bay, the house sits just five meters from the sea. Fully renovated in 2012 and further updated in 2023 with new windows and doors, it offers comfort and efficiency through air conditioning, heating, and reliable Wi-Fi.

Inside, a spacious living room and a cozy double bedroom open directly onto a sea-facing terrace. This outdoor area includes a dining table, chairs, an outdoor shower, and a private staircase leading straight to the water. Please note: due to its height, the terrace is not suitable for children.

The property also includes a second bedroom with a large bunk bed, two bathrooms (one with shower), and a fully equipped kitchen for cooking enthusiasts. Each room has generous storage, a desk, and seating.

Access to the house is via a ramped staircase leading to a small courtyard with laundry facilities. Our seaside haven combines minimal material comforts with maximum emotional connection—an experience that truly belongs to the sea.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- Access is by stairs only; the property is not suitable for guests with mobility issues or wheelchairs.
- The house is about 550 m from the train station (public cab service available).
- No private parking. The nearest public pay parking is about 800 m away (cab service available).
- For safety reasons, we don't accommodate children under 12 years.
- Additional guests beyond the first two incur a daily fee (see “Booking Summary” for details).

- Be mindful of pickpockets in crowded areas during summer. A little care ensures a peaceful holiday.

Staying at Enrico & Elena’s Casa Cappuccini in Monterosso, Cinque Terre was an unforgettable experience. The home truly felt like “living on a boat”. It is perched right above the water, with the sound of the sea and breathtaking views all around us. The terrace patio was a highlight of our stay, offering the perfect spot to relax, soak in the scenery, and enjoy some great people-watching throughout the day.The house itself was exceptionally well-equipped; with everything we could possibly need for a comfortable and easy stay. Its location couldn’t have been better. It is just a short walk to the town, train station, and a variety of wonderful restaurants.Our host, Cristina, was incredibly welcoming and thoughtful. She met us upon arrival, made sure we were settled in, and ensured we had everything we needed throughout our stay.We absolutely loved our time here and would highly recommend Casa Cappuccini to anyone looking for a unique and memorable stay in Cinque Terre.

Excellent unique place to stay in the best location of Monterosso. The beds were all comfortable, the house and kitchen were well stocked and there was easy access to the beach. The terrace was a wonderful place to spend time and watch the views and the different concerts that took place below every evening during our August visit next to the property- piano, rock and a comedian.

This property was commissioned and built in the 1960s by a local construction company, under the direction of architects Zuccotti - Lenti, for our uncle. During the refurbishment, we did our utmost to preserve the original furnishings—and, above all, its distinctive character and spirit!
