If you are looking to get away from it all, then Cozy Creek Cabin is the secluded mountain retreat you have been searching for. This custom built log cabin is located off the beaten path, yet centrally located in the mountains of Wilkes County with an approximate 30 minute drive to West Jefferson or Wilkesboro, and an approximate 40 minute drive to Boone. With a less than 15 minute drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway, this location is ideal if you would like your own personal mountain creekside hideaway far removed from the hustle and bustle. We are approx. 5 miles to both Wonderlust Acres and Sky Retreat!

As you arrive and step out of your vehicle, the first thing you hear is the rushing sound of the bold creek that surrounds the property.

As you enter the great room, you will find sawmill pine floors, leather furnishings, and a wood-burning stove fireplace. Firewood is provided!

But you won’t have to be completely disconnected, unless you want to. The cabin has 1 GIG Fiber WIFI for all your streaming or business needs and a 60” Smart TV with access to all of your streaming accounts.

The kitchen has stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, farmhouse sink and solid wood cabinetry. It is stocked with essentials like dishes, cutlery, flatware, pots, pans, utensils, blender, slow cooker, drip coffee maker and a Keurig. There is a full washer and dryer in the mud room.

The main level primary bedroom features a king bed, its own flat screen smart TV, and French doors that lead out to the deck, where you will find a high quality Hot Spring hot tub, perfect for romantic nights. The adjacent bath features a custom cedar barn door, tile flooring, an antique claw foot tub, separate glass shower and a custom vessel sink vanity made from a large cedar tree.

The second bedroom is located upstairs and features a very comfy queen bed. A full bath is also located upstairs. The leather sofa in the living area of the first floor is a queen size sleeper sofa.

The best features of Cozy Creek Cabin greet you as you step outside. Sit on the covered porch in the oversize rocking chairs, or catch some rays on the sun deck, or play a game of cornhole. Bring your smores and chill out at the fire pit located just steps away from the soothing view and sounds of the bubbling creek.

Cozy Creek Cabin was built in an idyllic mountain wilderness setting to provide peace and tranquility and an escape from the stresses of everyday life. We invite you to relax and unwind at Cozy Creek Cabin.

*Please note that our cabin is in a very remote location. There is a place where you drive through the creek in your vehicle just before you reach the cabin. It does not require a 4 wheel drive vehicle, as it is very shallow at the crossing point, but vehicles with a higher ground clearance are recommended, such as a small, mid or full size SUV or truck. There is no cell phone reception at the cabin, however you can use your cell phone on our WIFI connection by enabling WIFI calling in your phone's settings. There is also a house phone for guests to use at no charge.

Pet Policy: We accept pets at Cozy Creek for an additional fee. There is a 2 dog limit and no dogs under 1 year of age are allowed. We require that you crate your pet if you will be leaving them at the cabin unattended. The pet fee is $70 per stay and is non-refundable.

WINTER WARNING:
The North Carolina mountains are prone to snow and icy conditions during the winter months. The cabin is located on a gravel road. A 4-wheel drive vehicle will be required if there is snow during your stay. We have driven from the cabin in 6 inches of snow in a 4 wheel drive truck with no issues.

Welcome to our property! We are the Watts family from Thomasville, NC. We enjoy building and design projects, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Why they chose this property

I have always had a dream of having a log cabin tucked away in the mountains. I even painted a log cabin hideaway when I was 10 years old, and it sits in our cabin today. When Bobby caught the dream as well, we started searching for land so that we could build what we wanted. We looked first in the Asheville area, but decided that would be too long of a drive for weekend getaways. Then we found the listing for the wooded lot with a stream in the "community" of Hidden Cove in Purlear. When we first walked onto the property, we fell in love with it instantly. We still looked at a few others, but we could not get the beautiful sloping land surrounded by a rushing creek out of our minds. So we bought it, and soon thereafter purchased a log cabin kit. It was hard work, but after a few years, we finally had our dream come true. We find much peace and tranquility here, and we are happy and excited to share that gift with like-minded people who are looking for a respite deep in the woods, where a river, or large creek in our case, runs through it. Come listen to the sounds of the cascading creek and see why we fell in love with this property, and we promise you will want to come back for more.

What makes this property unique

Cozy Creek Cabin was built with blood, sweat, tears and a whole lotta love. Bobby did much of the work himself. We hired a contractor that specializes in log homes to stack the logs and do the framing, but Bobby, a former contractor himself, drove to the cabin site almost every weekend for a solid year to lay the foundation, build the large fireplace and chimney, finish the interior and do the stonework. We found the antique claw foot tub in a 1900 house in Greensboro that was being refurbished. We had a large cedar tree at our former home in Thomasville that was damaged from an ice store, so it became the sink pedestal in the master bath, as well as the cedar branches that adorn the banister and balcony of the custom cedar staircase that Bobby built. You can still see the sawmill marks in the pine flooring that Bobby laid in the living room, which Bobby's dad hand-sawed himself at his own sawmill. A special memorial to Bobby's dad, who left us for heaven all too soon. Come see all of the personal touches that adorn Cozy Creek Cabin, from the handmade raw edge dining table, to the rustic bear and woodland decor, to the enchanting string lights at night, you will feel peaceful and cozy at Cozy Creek Cabin.
