Very nice get away in the woods. This is the perfect place to come and relax. Swinging on the porch listening to the creek is wonderful. I would recommend this cabin highly. It is down a very long dirt road and crossing through a creek.
Hosts were very accommodating and responsive when weather delayed our stay. The house was clean, well cared for, comfy and cozy. The creek and hot tub put it over the top. Will definitely be back!
What a great place! We had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, great place to go for a hike and the creek just makes the atmosphere. It IS RE-mote feeling and the roads are winding, but is certainly makes the drive interesting. It was a great location for a wedding we attended at Sky Retreat 7 miles away.
We loved our stay at the cabin! We spent everyday enjoying the outdoor fireplace, walks around the mountain, & sitting on the porch. Neighbors, Jane & John, joined us near the creek one day. They shared a little history about the area & invited us to check out the local stores. We will be back for another visit in the near future! Thank you to our wonderful hosts!
They call it the “Cozy Cabin”, and it is! Beautiful setting by a stunning stream. The cabin utilizes its space well, and the fireplace makes it a cozy place to watch the fire, read, or watch a little tv. Secluded and private yet not far from W Jefferson. It was perfect for my wife and I along with Tucker!
Although the location is quite remote, it was worth the drive for this charming, comfy cabin! All of the beds were very comfortable, including the queen sized sleeper sofa in the living room. It has tons of curb appeal and well decorated- including a cute Christmas tree. We really enjoyed the weekend and Mitzi was a wonderful, very responsive host.
Wonderful escape at the perfect cabin! The only negative was having to leave! We enjoyed our time at the cabin very much. Thank you for sharing this special place.
Great cabin and very relaxing. Don’t like not having cell service because of my mom not being able to get ahold of me if an emergency but it was great otherwise. Good getaway.

Sonja, thank you for staying at our cabin and we are glad you enjoyed it. Just want to say that while there is no cell signal at the cabin, guests can put their phone on WiFi calling and enter our password and still use their cell phones. And there is also a landline house phone guests can use at no charge. We are sorry these options didn’t work for you, but glad you had a pleasant stay otherwise.
This is hands down the best vacation recharge rental house we have ever stayed in , we will be coming back every year! The cabin is beautifully built, very stern , very clean , just breathtaking views! The stream next to the house is addicting to sit next to...you will consume all the peaceful, relaxing and fun vibes here!
It was very peaceful. Family loved it. Only wish the shower in main bathroom had a caddy of some sort for shampoo bottles ect.

You are totally right, Jessica! So, I just ordered a shower caddy :) I had been meaning to and kept forgetting, so I appreciate your feedback and we hope you come again!
Such a lovely property - we all had a blast staying here! Our favorite spot was outside listening to the stream. Never knew a place could be so quiet and loud at the same time! Take the time to relax on the porch or down by the water: you won't regret it. Can't wait to stay here again
This cabin and location were exactly what we needed! It is clean, well stocked, and the surrounded property is a dream! The owners were responsive and very helpful! We enjoyed the property and spent a few days hiking local mountains!
Beautiful home, extremely clean, quiet and a host that was so easy to work with.

Why they chose this property
I have always had a dream of having a log cabin tucked away in the mountains. I even painted a log cabin hideaway when I was 10 years old, and it sits in our cabin today. When Bobby caught the dream as well, we started searching for land so that we could build what we wanted. We looked first in the Asheville area, but decided that would be too long of a drive for weekend getaways. Then we found the listing for the wooded lot with a stream in the "community" of Hidden Cove in Purlear. When we first walked onto the property, we fell in love with it instantly. We still looked at a few others, but we could not get the beautiful sloping land surrounded by a rushing creek out of our minds. So we bought it, and soon thereafter purchased a log cabin kit. It was hard work, but after a few years, we finally had our dream come true. We find much peace and tranquility here, and we are happy and excited to share that gift with like-minded people who are looking for a respite deep in the woods, where a river, or large creek in our case, runs through it. Come listen to the sounds of the cascading creek and see why we fell in love with this property, and we promise you will want to come back for more.
What makes this property unique
Cozy Creek Cabin was built with blood, sweat, tears and a whole lotta love. Bobby did much of the work himself. We hired a contractor that specializes in log homes to stack the logs and do the framing, but Bobby, a former contractor himself, drove to the cabin site almost every weekend for a solid year to lay the foundation, build the large fireplace and chimney, finish the interior and do the stonework. We found the antique claw foot tub in a 1900 house in Greensboro that was being refurbished. We had a large cedar tree at our former home in Thomasville that was damaged from an ice store, so it became the sink pedestal in the master bath, as well as the cedar branches that adorn the banister and balcony of the custom cedar staircase that Bobby built. You can still see the sawmill marks in the pine flooring that Bobby laid in the living room, which Bobby's dad hand-sawed himself at his own sawmill. A special memorial to Bobby's dad, who left us for heaven all too soon. Come see all of the personal touches that adorn Cozy Creek Cabin, from the handmade raw edge dining table, to the rustic bear and woodland decor, to the enchanting string lights at night, you will feel peaceful and cozy at Cozy Creek Cabin.
