This was our second time staying at Juan’s place, and we had another wonderful stay! We really enjoyed the house and the swimming pool. We noticed several nice upgrades since our last visit, and the house was very well stocked with everything we needed. It was comfortable, relaxing, and felt like a home away from home. We would definitely stay here again!
Absolutely perfect for our family! The condo was clean and uncluttered, which is always appreciated. The communication could not have been better. They thought of everything thing here, there was not a thing that we needed throughout the week that wasn't there. We will definitely stay again.
The property was just as pictured and a great place to stay for families. It’s a beautiful home and a great backyard. I would highly recommend staying here.
Great communication with Juan, super responsive. House was very clean, great property. Kitchen and grill area was well equipped. Super property, loved hearing the waves even being a block off the waterfront!! Very spacious and ample of room for our entire family of 9. Had an excellent time!! Next time, need to stay longer!!
Right along the pristine beach. The condo was well furnished and clean. The resort was well maintained and lots of amenities including amazing pools and hot tubs. Can't wait to come back again

Mahalo for the 5-star review, Ranjith. We are delighted to hear you enjoyed the property!
Had a wonderful time staying here. House is amazing. Host was very helpful and communicative. Amazing landscaping. Kids loved the pool. Would definitely recommend staying here.
We so enjoyed staying at this property! It was a beautiful home and you can hear the ocean from the back yard. Only a 5 minute walk from the house, and we were at the ocean and able to walk on the lava cliffs.
The only thing that would make it better would be Air Conditioning, but I'm not sure how many homes in Hawaii utilize it.
Thanks, so much, Juan and Yvette for making our vacation lovely.
Villa Paradiso is an amazing, well kept property. Check in process went smoothly. We appreciated the tips provided by Yvette on local places to check out during our stay. Very quiet neighbourhood. Lots of space. Kitchen is well stocked with appliances and we loved having the ice machines. Only regret is not staying longer.
We had a great stay here, the hot tub and pool were great, lots of toys and things for our kids to play with in the pool. The house was amazing right from the attached garage to park in to the pool table and bedrooms, i would highly recommended staying here. I talked to the property owner and asked if there was a pack and play for our baby to sleep in, he said no but he ended up buying one just for us. Great service altogether.
We really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely recommend this home—I’d happily come back again.A couple of things to keep in mind for future guests: the spa tub/jacuzzi never got very warm, even after following the property manager’s instructions. It still worked out for us, but we were hoping for a hotter soak. Also, plan for a check-in meeting with the property manager on your first day. I understand the value in that, but with a shorter stay, we would have appreciated the option to opt out so we could start our day earlier.Lastly, there’s no A/C, which made some nights a bit uncomfortable with the Hilo humidity. There are plenty of fans provided (which we appreciated), but A/C in the bedrooms would make a big difference—especially at night when trying to sleep through the coqui frogs.
6 of us…three couples all over 65. We came to Hilo for the Merrie Monarch Festival Everything as described. Incredible setting. Beautiful home. Huge kitchen, large outdoor pavilion. One minor inconvenience…We had some issues with water pressure the first night when we went to take showers. We called property manager first thing next morning and WOW…she was on it. Got it fixed fast and efficiently. (The PM Yevette was incredible at her job! ) Pre visit owner Juan was very responsive and professional too. Thank you for letting us enjoy this beautiful property
We rented this property because the cost was reasonable for the time of year, compared to an equitable home on Kona. We found the house fit the needs of our family of 10 very well. It is spacious, beautiful, and clean. The pool, hot tub, and outdoor kitchen were great in the evenings when we returned from our adventures.
We will note that despite being here at the end of December, it was still pretty hot in the house despite all windows open and fans running. It cooled off nicely by 12:30/1:00am. I imagine the summers here are very hot since there is no AC. The house manager was awesome, giving us tons of tips and things to do if we were looking for more. Overall, a great place!

Disappointing
Photos of house were misleading. It needs a lot of maintenance. Billiard table is on second floor so inaccessible to family members with leg issues. No AC. Cockroaches in house. Rats in yard. Pool guy showed up often and at random times instead of when scheduled.

The photos of the house are all a recent and trustworthy representation of the house status. I spend quite a lot in maintenance to have the house in the best condition possible. Yes, billiard table is in second floor and there are stairs to access it as shown in the pictures of the house.
There was no report of roaches or rat sighting in the yard during the stay but just in case I have placed multiple traps to cover both.
Pool guy shows every Monday and Thursday (as described in guest book) at around 10am and he cleans the pools and maintain the yard so guest can have everything to their liking and he tries not to be intrusive of guest activities.
Villa Paraiso exceeded our expectations in every way! We visited to celebrate my retirement and traveled with my two daughters, their husbands, and two grandsons under one year old. The house was perfect for our group of six. The kitchen was incredibly well-stocked with everything we needed and more. The pool and tropical yard were stunning—like staying in a private botanical garden. It was the ideal setting for both relaxation and family time. Juan was an amazing host—responsive, thoughtful, and went above and beyond, even purchasing a second high chair for our visit. We felt truly cared for throughout our stay. Villa Paraiso made our trip unforgettable, and we would love to return in the future. Highly recommend! The pool and lush yard made us feel like we were in a private botanical garden—peaceful, beautiful, and incredibly well-maintained. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we could possibly need, making meals together easy and enjoyable.Juan was the perfect host—attentive, kind, and thoughtful. He even purchased a second high chair just for our visit, which made things so much easier with two little ones! This home made our celebration truly unforgettable. We would return in a heartbeat and highly recommend Villa Paraiso to anyone looking for a relaxing, family-friendly escape in paradise.
This is a well-maintained property, although it does suffer a couple of (understandable) natural issues, given its proximity to the ocean. Very spacious, there were nine of us total including a year old baby, a five year old and seven adults. We were never crowded. We had rain every day, but the house is designed nicely to accommodate outdoor activities even when the weather is not cooperating.
The pool and spa or wonderful, although the spa needs some maintenance, it has sharp edges on the steps that got us a couple of times. We had never done a VRBO, previous stays we’re at resorts when we’ve come to the islands, so this experience was new to us. While I missed having service professionals to see to all needs, a very happy stay was enjoyed by all. Be aware that the house is in a residential area that is well off the beaten path, and you’ll need to plan ahead regarding grocery shopping and restaurants, etc. and Hilo. I found a ‘local’s only’ market very close by, and made several trips to it over the week to get treats. When we return to the Big Island, we’ll look to stay here again. Highly recommend.
We had an amazing time staying at this property. The entire property was very clean and well maintained. Maku'u Point is worth the short walk and the Tin Shack Bakery makes the best coffee and sandwiches.
7 of us recently stayed at the Villa Paraiso and it was a nice, quiet, relaxing enclave. There's tons of space to spread out - we did not feel crowded at all. Everything was as-advertised and clean. Very well stocked, from every possible kitchen item you'd need (including spices), to all the beach accessories you'd need for a day on the beach (umbrellas, chairs, cooler, etc). There are also several bikes for use, and an extensive library of DVD movies. A whole chest full of pool toys for the pool. Not a far drive from Pāhoa or Hilo. A good central starting point to get to the aforementioned towns, Volcanoes National Park, beaches, parks, etc. Pool, spa, lanai great to come home to and relax after a day of exploring.
Communication with both the owner and the on-island manager was great. Check-in instructions were clear and easy.
We were greeted by the manager on our first morning and she had some great recommendations for local things to do and see.
My only complaint is that we should have stayed longer!
Don't be alarmed if there are a few bugs, it's part of life on the island.
After two weeks at resorts we loved being able to settle our family into a house to relax & cook for ourselves. No hitches in getting into the home & caretaker was a nice source of information & easily reached. Great location to easily drive to everything we wanted to see on this side if the island. Kitchens both indoor & outdoor are great & I personally enjoyed after resort food. No A/C in house but that is no problem once you get the house opened up & breezes come through. If we get back to Big Island again this house will be a repeat if available.
Loved staying at Villa Paraiso in Keaau, HI! The property was magnificent and perfect for our group of 10. Plenty of room for everyone to enjoy their stay. My grandchildren loved the pool and we spent many hours seating out on the lanai. Not enough can be said about how great the kitchen was and it allowed us to serve most of our meals in a relaxing manner. Hated to leave at the close of our 10 day visit.
Our family of 4 (myself, my husband and our two boys 6 and 9) stayed at Villa Paraiso for 8 days. We were looking for our own place removed from town and the touristy spots, and it did not disappoint. The house is a good 15 minutes from a local market and 20-30 minutes from restaurants in the area, but if you’re ok with being a little farther out and getting that true local feel, this is the place! Juan, the owner, was more than accommodating. So much so that he was willing to buy a small stand up AC unit for the downstairs bedroom (I was a bit nervous renting a house in Hawaii in June with no AC). I do have to mention that there were a few nights that were very hot and uncomfortable (the upstairs bedrooms have a bamboo floor so AC isn’t possible there) but we are also from Colorado and not used to humidity. There were also a few nights where it cooled off nicely and the breeze from the ocean made it much easier to sleep. Definitely something to consider if you’re thinking about visiting in the summer though.
That was the only downside to the house. The pool and hot tub were amazing…we spent the majority of our time there (the pool toys for the boys were a huge hit). The house itself is lovely and spacious, perfect size for our family and would accommodate more people easily. The kitchen is huge and well stocked. Juan also has an extensive movie collection so we enjoyed family movie nights and my boys also enjoyed playing PlayStation games and riding the bikes around as well (when they needed a break from the pool).
The property manager Yvette was also a big help. She met us our first day at the house to go over everything, and ended up being a great resource for us throughout the trip.
All in all it was a great stay…a true slice of paradise!
We had 2 families with kids (6-8 year olds) and grandparents. We all enjoyed the house, especially the pool and hot tub and all the pool toys! The adults enjoyed the lanai; and the BBQ grill was a plus. There were plenty of things to do on the island that we didn't have enough time to do everything the house has to offer. Next time, we need to stay longer, so that we can enjoy the billiard/room and the large flat screen TV with video games. The house was clean and updated; kitchen was large and spacious for multiple people to prep and cook; even grandpa who's a chef was impressed. Ice maker was a plus; and they had plastic ware for the kids and were placed in a low cabinet for the kids' reach. Both the owner and on-site manager were very responsive to all our questions and needs. We will definitely return! Mahalo, Juan and Yvette!
