SERENITY IN CDM: Private Cottage & Gardens on XL Lot
A "Unicorn" in Corona del Mar? YES!
This beautiful guest cottage sits toward the back of a RARE double-lot, which offers exceptional privacy in this otherwise densely populated beach community - Surrounded by tranquil gardens – Not the usual neighbors’ windows!
Centrally located in the heart of CDM village, within easy walking distance to prime restaurants, cafes, shops, beaches and everything else that makes Corona del Mar so desirable: 2.5 blocks to Coast Highway, 8 blocks to Big Corona State Beach. A tree-lined park is just up the block, leading to public tennis and basketball courts. If you enjoy trail-running or hiking, Buck Gully Nature Reserve is just a few blocks away. Sherman Gardens and Port Theater are also within easy walking distance. A mile or less to explore Fashion Island’s luxury shops, restaurants and movie theaters, and Pelican Hill's World-Class Golf Resort.
This original cottage was recently renovated and fully furnished with style and comfort in mind. Extensive attention to detail went into all elements of this redesign, preserving the original cottage charm while enhancing it with modern luxuries.
This is one of VERY FEW original beach cottages that remain in CDM Village! Spacious ground-level open floor-plan in living/dining/kitchen area, with bright natural light from tons of French windows, upper transoms and classic Dutch door. New kitchen cabinets with 'Galaxy' granite countertops. High beamed ceiling with classic transom windows provide even more light and the sea-breeze when desired. Private garden courtyard entrance facing the kitchen & dining area, and ANOTHER totally private garden patio (with outdoor seating) through the spacious bedroom’s French doors. The living room windows open up to a view of the exotic middle yard with 35 foot Koi pond + stream.
REGARDING COVID-19 SAFETY PRECAUTIONS: As any of our repeat guests will confirm, we have always taken cleaning of our cottages between guests to a rather "extreme" level! The three main cleaning agents that we use for hard surfaces are 70% Isopropyl alcohol, 8% Hydrogen Peroxide and chlorine bleach, and for soft surfaces, 90% Isopropyl alcohol and steam cleaning. All bedding, (not just sheets) including blankets and comforter covers, protective pillow case covers, are changed between guests. Pillows and comforters are tumbled in the dryer on high heat for a minimum of 15 minutes before changing pillow case covers and putting on clean pillow cases and sheets. All soft surfaces of headboard and bed frame are sprayed with alcohol and allowed to dry.
In addition, we have recently added an overnight UV / OZONE cycle as an "overkill" treatment, once everything else has been cleaned and disinfected. This system shuts itself off when completed, which allows the cottage to remain untouched until the guests check themselves in (if contact-free check-in is desired.).

Although we have created a sterile environment inside, there are many other factors to take into consideration when traveling during an outbreak. Your doctor is familiar with your specific risk factors and can guide you in making the best choices for your situation.

But I wasn't sure if I'd be able to adjust to the density, and especially, live without a "real" garden....Then I was fortunate enough to find this unique property - Three original CDM cottages on a Double-lot! It was a scary project that would require a TON of time and effort, but I could envision the end result.
After a lot of hard work and a huge learning curve, it somehow transformed into my original vision.
Looking back, I can't believe I actually pulled it off - ONLY because I was stubborn and inexperienced enough to ignore virtually EVERYONE'S advice. But, I am fairly confident that if you decide to stay here, you will be happy that I did!
