Very clean and cozy place. We enjoyed staying here so much. Emigrant is a close drive along with Gardiner when you are looking for food. Not far from the north entrance of Yellowstone. We took a day and walked around Gardiner and Emigrant as they are very cool towns. Great place!
My friends and I had a great stay! House was spacious, very private and close to Yellowstone National Park. Long trip up the mountain but we would stay again!
The property was stunning. The house was wonderful. The trip up the mountain was scary. Definitely have ton prepare yourself for the ride up.

This location is amazing but the road can be very rough at certain times of the year. We appreciate you sharing that with future guests. We think it's worth the drive!
Spacious and clean. I loved all the towels and basic amenities that you would need. The drive up to the house was a little too rough for me so I left my car at the bottom of the hill and we traveled up and down in one truck.
We loved this house! Very comfortable, cozy and fun for the whole family. We loved the remoteness of it. Beautiful views and close to Yellowstone. Quick access to fishing sites. This is really off the beaten path, took is about 20 minutes to get from the house to main road so prepare for that! But we saw wildlife all around us. We were sad to leave!
Such a wonderful place to stay. The views are beautiful and house is as well. The swing in the woods was a huge hit for the kids. We already booked next years stay.

The cabin was quaint, quiet, and private, which was the perfect setting for our Yellowstone getaway. We had no problems with the property during our stay. Everything was beautiful inside and out! We would definitely want to stay here again if we make another trip to the area.
Beautiful scenery. Well stocked. Takes about 20 minutes from the main paved road up a pretty rough road to the house. Our family really enjoyed our stay.
Enjoyed the home. Very secluded. Loved the views.
My only issue was I have some mobility issues and choose to use the downstairs bathroom to shower. Unfortunately I fell getting into the shower because there was not a grab bar. Just a suggestion to install a grab bar.

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Yellowstone Mountain Home. Thank you for letting us know about your fall in the shower. I will let the homeowner and handyman know right away so they can look for a solution. We hope you will stay with us again in the future.
Absolutely wonderful property. Just half an hour drive from Yellowstone but private and away from the crowds. The road up to the property is 2 miles long, unpaved, steep and a little scary. We did it in a minivan in summer. I wouldn’t attempt it in bad weather unless you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle. Once you reach the property it’s worth the drive. Make sure you explore the land around the property. There’s a great rope swing hanging in the forest next to the house, beautiful views and LOTS of wildlife. Would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I surprised his parents with a trip to Yellowstone along with our 7 year old daughter. This place was everything we could have hoped for! Extremely spacious, clean, plenty of extras for kids such as color pencils and toys, a cooler to use. There was absolutely no cell service for AT&T and we couldn’t get the internet to work at all but that wasn’t an issue for us. The drive to and from the cabin was rough to say the least, but that is in no way a fault of the renters. It did add about 25-30 minutes from the main road to the cabin. We woke up to elk right by the house, a mule deer visited by the dining window at dinner, and we sat outside and listened to the elk bugling in the evening. I honestly can’t say enough good things about this place!!
We loved that our cabin was up in the mountains North of Yellowstone!! There was plenty of room for our family. However there were only 2 problems,,,,,the first one was the mattress on the twin bed in the downstairs bedroom. There’s no way anyone could sleep on it without waking the whole house up. It truly was awful. The other thing was spiders! We killed 8 spiders the first night we were there, mainly in the downstairs bedroom and living room. It was awful. All it needed was spraying, so I did that. Very nice cabin though!!

We enjoyed staying in the cabin. It was quiet and peaceful. Pretty clean, which was nice. We loved the shower upstairs with all the jets. A little further away from Yellowstone than I expected, tho. The kids loved the rope swing and zip line. We did get to have a camp fire once and it was so enjoyable.
We started a fire in the wood stove each nite which made it very cozy.
The grill was in pretty bad shape so we were unable to cook up the steaks we wanted. It did cook the hotdogs and brats, tho.
We had hoped to see some wildlife, but did not. There were signs elk had been around but never saw them.
The mattress on the single bed down stairs did have blood stains or something when we took the sheets off when we were leaving. It was pretty gross. A mattress pad would have been nice so we didn’t have To see it.

Thank you, Connie, for staying with Mountain Home Vacation Rentals. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to have you stay with us again in the future. We appreciate you taking the time to leave us feedback.
Our stay in the mountain home was all that we hoped for. High in the landscape with beautiful views, secluded enough that the kids could be free to be kids without disturbing neighboring guests. The road up to the property from the highway is as rugged and winding as previous guests have stated, but well maintained. The house was cozy, clean, and well equipped with everything we needed to cook for and feed our family of 8. All appliances and entertainment features worked well, and there is a selection of movies and games for rainy days. Cell service was hit or miss (some of us could connect and some not) but this would not deter us from staying in the future. Wifi seemed reliable but we did not use it much. Bedrooms are well space for privacy, second floor features a futon and small reading nook. Public fishing access is available in several spots along the highway, and it is an easy drive to Gardiner or Emigrant for supplies, and to YNP. One note of caution: when hiking through the nearby woods, be sure to bring the bear spray that is provided by the host. We were told there is a small group that lives on this part of the mountain, although we had no encounters. This home was the perfect place for our family getaway!
We recently stayed at this rental house in the mountains of Montana. The location is absolutely stunning, with beautiful views and a serene atmosphere. However, our stay was marred by a few significant issues.
Firstly, despite paying $500 a night, there was no air conditioning, not even a window unit. In the dead of summer, this made for very uncomfortable nights. We tried opening the windows at night and closing them during the day to manage the heat, but it was still too hot to sleep well. For the price, installing at least a window unit in the bedroom seems like a basic necessity.
Additionally, the TV downstairs didn't work, which was a disappointment. While the natural beauty of the location is a major draw, having a functioning TV is a reasonable expectation for a rental at this price point.
There are also areas that need updating. The lamp in the master bedroom had duct tape on it, which was quite tacky and not what we expected from a high-priced rental.
We truly love the location and would love to stay here again, but these issues need to be addressed. Installing air conditioning, fixing the TV, and making some updates to the furnishings would make a world of difference. Otherwise, we will probably look for another place to stay next time.
Great location for anyone looking to explore Paradise Valley and Yellowstone NP. We were greeted by an elk herd upon arrival which set the tone for a great vacation stay.
Great place up the mountain to enjoy God's beautiful creation and the quiet. House was great but the last 2.1 miles to get to the road was a little sketchy. If you don't like windy, narrow roads, you won't like this. Highly reccommend.
We stayed here on a multigenerational family trip, and the house was wonderful in many ways. There was a great view and wildlife in the yard, and we appreciated the outdoor grill. The futon we needed had a broken frame that had been "fixed" with a piece of wood, but was not usable. The location is quite far up in the hills, and we may not have chosen this house if we'd known about the gnarly road to get there. We were disappointed that the internet listed was actually extremely limited and basically unusable - you definitely could not work remotely from this location. I don't mean to be super negative, because otherwise the home was cozy and a wonderful place to gather :)
