Second time staying with Jane- exceeded expectations and still the best stocked kitchen and towels in 30 plus years of VRBO. Highly recommended!

We love having you stay at The Black Bear Lodge. We like to up our game now and again with falling trees, loss of power, bear and moose visits!...... Hope to see you again soon! -Jane
Host is very responsive to communication. This house is by far the most well supplied I’ve ever rented. Plenty of TP, Kleenex, detergent, soap etc. Location is convenient to town. Cute mountain decor. Bathrooms are a bit tired, but it’s great that each bedroom has a bathroom
Everything was beautiful; the city, mountains, friendly town.
We like this property at the first moment we got there, enjoy each part of the town, easy check in, I think I will come back to Breckinridge next year.
Outstanding views. Shopping very close, including a grocery store. Accommodations were perfect. Plenty of supplies for cooking and sleeping needs. Jane, the host, couldn’t make you feel more welcome! She was available in the event you needed to contact her during your stay. Our family will
We have a very large family of grown children and grandchildren. We rented The Timbers Lodge for two weeks of family vacation and it was perfect. The lodge and property are amazing, with a view from the upstairs observatory/sitting room of the peaks that can’t be beat! Everything was amazingly clean with extraordinary supplies of basic toiletries, towels, and sheets. Jane was very responsive to any needs that came up and checkin was a breeze. Should the opportunity arise, we will definitely use this property again.

Right back at you! It was a treat to host your Family! I hope to see you in the future!! Welcome to our Preferred VIP Status!!!! :)
This place is great. Location is perfect - close to town and the setting was very good. The home was comfortable, cozy and yet spacious. The bedrooms were all very comfortable and roomy and each had a private bath. We had wonderful evenings cooking in the very well-appointed kitchen and large table for meals to accommodate my entire family. Jane was easy to communicate with although we did not need to once we checked in. My family thoroughly enjoyed it and would love to come back.
This home is such a great location for our family ski vacation. It was conveniently located near the ski slopes and downtown Breckenridge. The home is beautiful with plenty of room for everyone. It had all the amenities needed for a fun, relaxing time. We had two babies with us and Jane had two high chairs and pack n plays so we didn’t have to bring our own. The kitchen had all the pots/pans and utensils needed for a large group. Jane, the owner, came every day to clear the snow so we could get to the hot tub. I highly recommend this home for a large group.

So many great things to say about the Black Bear Lodge! Private location first and foremost, plus just a quick walk to Main St. Breck. Check in was a breeze and a pot of soup was waiting for us after a long day of driving. The lodge was very clean and well kept. Kitchen was stocked with cooking necessities and appliances. Our host was very responsive and always helpful. Absolutely will come back if we have the chance. Well done all the way around!

What a fantastic and beautiful property!!
From booking to the welcome kit to leaving everything went so smooth
The property was absolutely gorgeous. The view in the morning of all the mountains and the authentic beautiful furniture and furnishings were outstanding
We had a group of 14 adults and not once did we run out of dinner ware glasses or plates
All of us had our own bedrooms and bathrooms. The place honestly was perfect
Only 1 mile out of town made skiing and going out at night into so easy
Thank you again for making our Christmas and New Year absolutely outstanding!!

Jane and the JanesLodges Team
We had an amazing time hosting a family reunion at Jane's Black Bear lodge in the beginning of August. We had 5 couples and one dog. This house was the perfect space for our gathering - large kitchen and dinning table, big open living room, and everyone had their own en suite. The house was surprisingly quiet - we could sleep-in without being woken up by others milling about in the kitchen. And the location was great - secluded from neighbors with a lot of space for the dog to run around. Also, just about a 15-20 minute walk to Main St...we walked into town every day. Jane was easy to communicate with and very responsive. I highly recommend this rental for large group vacations.

What an absolutely perfect house for our family, and then later our friends. Every bedroom had an en-suite bath and comfortable beds. The home was decorated very nicely and made one feel right at home. The most outstanding thing besides the multiple spaces was how every possible necessity had been provided with enough for the one month length of our stay. From towels for the hot tub, to humidifiers and fans, to plenty of TP and Kleenex by every bed! We only had to buy one roll of paper towel besides our food. Jane had a crock pot with soup ready upon our arrival, which was so appreciated after our long drive. Jane always responded promptly to any of our questions and did everything to help us in our stay. She even left the discount grocery card on the key ring which saved us at least $10/ store visit. I just can’t say enough nice things about the Black Bear Lodge and our hosts!
We had a wonderful stay. The home exceeded our expectations. The layout was great for a large family, extremely clean and situated on a wonderful private wooded lot that was close to town. Jane, our host was welcoming and very hospitable.
Had four families at Black Bear for a week and it could not have been better. Tons of space, great kitchen for cooking, back porch and hot tub were great at night. Will be back.
Beautiful home for a large party and very close to town! :)

Comfortable home for a large family gathering!
We really enjoyed our stay at Black Bear Lodge. The bedroom set up was perfect for our mixed group of couples, singles and families. There was delicious soup and bread waiting for us, which was a nice treat! The home was well stocked with lots of towels, blankets, pillows, 2, possibly 3 pack n plays, several high chairs, space heaters, legos and games. While it is about a mile south of Breckenridge, we were able to get Ubers and food delivery quickly. Overall the lodge was just what we needed for our long weekend stay.

Black Bear: huge, comfortable, luxurious, convenient
We thoroughly enjoyed out stay at Black Bear Lodge, a spacious, conveniently-located and beautifully-appointed house.
It was made even better by catering from Kelly at Ridge Street Kitchen, who cooked for us on two nights. Kelly's food was as perfect and fantastic as the accommodation.
Support from Jane was terrific, too: we had a problem with the heating and she had it fixed within half an hour of contacting her.
I would recommend this place without hesitation!

About the host
Hosted by Jane Hamilton
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; I moved to Breckenridge in 1990 to start 'Jane's Lodges' with my Dad Started annual Family Ski Trips over 35 years ago!. We still do at least one in Breckenridge every year!
Why they chose this property
I used to ride my bike out to this property..... I was always intrigued with this home; A large structure nestled in the pines at the end of a sweeping driveway. If you listen close, you will hear the rush or the gurgle of the Blue River which runs just below the home. The privacy of this location is very attractive. Once inside; I was charmed by the decor, layout and design. My Dad always wondered why I just didn't live here.... Pretty awesome. Bike and Walking Trail to connect directly to downtown Breckenridge! Our location just keeps getting better!
What makes this property unique
Living in Breckenridge is magical.... if you can spend just a week here; you will definitely experience a little piece of paradise in the Rocky Mountains! We try to create each lodge to exude all of the mountain comforts you would look for while vacationing in our town!
The Black Bear Lodge was added to the JanesLodges Portfolio of Homes in 1998. This Property exudes all of the quiet charm you would expect when taking in a Mountain Vacation. Finding nearly 3 private acres of your own so close to the downtown core of Breckenridge is hard to do..... AND walk down to the Blue River from the house???? What more could you ask for? A hidden gem neighborhood.... This is where you will find The Black Bear Lodge. This is our 32nd Year operating JanesLodges; and The Black Bear Lodge still takes my breath away. A new Mountain Bike and Summer Trail runs through the Black Bear Lodge property to connect to A River's Edge Neighborhood and in to Breckenridge!!!
