About this property
Historic 1br downtown cabin with hot tub and views
Soothe your soul in a hot tub(seats 2 adults comfortably) above downtown while staring into Rocky Mountain National Park after a long day of hiking (STR#3126)! You`ll love my historic cabin, built in the late 1800s but modernized for your comfort. Cozy 540 square feet provide great views, a full kitchen & bathroom, electric fireplace, inviting warm bedroom, and a deck overlooking Lumpy Ridge.
+ Walk to downtown and the Stanley Hotel + 8 minute drive to the park
A perfect base for up to 4 people for a mountain getaway! (MAX 4 guests including infants and children)
Real quick -- some house rules:
No early check in or late checkouts. Check in is 4pm or later; check out is 10am or earlier. No smoking inside or out; no fire pits; no parties; no pets.
1 car & 4 guests MAX-INCLUDING INFANTS AND CHILDREN- as per town rental permit legal limit.
I ask guests to start the dishwasher with dirty dishes and a laundry load of used towels/hand towels/washcloths at checkout (we have negotiated a lower cleaning fee based on this). Accurate guest count is mandatory and the platform will not otherwise generate a correct price for your date. AWD, snow tires or 4WD recommended from October to May. Hot tub open year round. Also no cable -- bring your own streaming accounts for the smart TV.
Onward!
My cabin rests on a hillside above downtown in a small neighborhood of other historic cabins. This was one of the original neighborhoods when people first settled in the Estes Valley. The place predates most other buildings in the area, but it`s been lovingly cared for and is in great shape. The bathroom ceiling is slanted and the shower head may be low for some taller folks.
I love being able to walk to town from here, but still come home afterward and sit in the hot tub. Afterwards, I enjoy lounging on the sofa and just relaxing in front of the fireplace.
There are other cabins close by, so if you are looking for total seclusion this isn`t your best bet -- but there aren`t many vacation rentals out there offering the great combination of views, a hot tub, fireplace, deck, full kitchen, and the ability to walk to town.
BEDROOMS
My home offers 1 bedroom, plus sleeping for two more on a new pull out queen sofa bed. I also have a convertible ottoman if 2 of the extra people need separate beds.
Bedroom 1 - A comfortable queen mattress will ensure a good night sleep after a long day of hiking. It`s a cozy space with wood paneled walls throughout, and north facing windows so you can watch the sun light up Lumpy Ridge as you wake up.
LIVING & ENTERTAINMENT
Living Room - There`s a spacious dining room table and a comfy couch to lounge in while you stream your favorite Netflix series on the speedy WiFi. Feel free to fire up the fireplace -- it`s electric but offers a great ambiance as the flames flicker on the cozy wood walls.
Deck & Hot Tub - We have a small deck with a grill off the front door overlooking Lumpy Ridge, a perfect spot for BBQ.. Our hot tub fits two comfortably but you could squeeze more in if necessary. It has a small fence around it for privacy from our neighors` cabins, but the northern side is open so you can watch the mountains.
LAUNDRY & COOKING
Kitchen - The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils, small appliances, fridge, freezer, full size oven and stove, microwave, drop coffee maker, toaster, and more. You may not actually use it that much because you can walk to all the great restaurants in downtown!
Laundry - We do offer a full size washer and dryer for you to use!
Guests have complete access to my property, including the yard, deck, hot tub, kitchen, bathroom, living room, bedroom and laundry room. We have parking for 1 car.
I live a few miles away and am a long time Estes Park local. My husband is a great realtor (let me know if you`re interested in moving here!) and I also teach yoga and am involved in a number of community projects. I am happy to answer any questions you have -- I`m just a quick text away!
My cabin is located in a neighborhood of other historic cabins on a hillside just above downtown Estes Park. You can literally walk everywhere in town -- to the Stanley Hotel, Ed`s Cantina, local coffee shops and restaurants, etc. Because it`s on a hill, you have a great view of Lumpy Ridge to the north from the deck and hot tub.
We have parking for two cars at our cabin, and it`s a short walk to the seasonal free bus system that goes around Estes Park and into the National Park.
NOISE
This unit is in a quiet little neighborhood with other rentals nearby, so events, loud music and noises, and parties are strictly prohibited. Please be respectful of your noise level. I really want to maintain good relationships with my wonderful neighbors.
UNREGISTERED GUESTS
Insurance forbids unregistered guests on property. There are motion sensitive security cameras on the outside of the building which will pick up unregistered guests.
AIR CONDITIONER
Estes has a mild mountain climate in the summers but from time to time it can get hot. Like nearly every other home in town, there’s no A/C, but 2 ceiling fans and 1 box fan.
CHECK IN/OUT TIMES
Check in is 4PM and check out is 10AM. I cannot accommodate early check ins and late check outs due to my cleaners` schedule. It`s a super tiny mountain town and the cleaners are slammed and there just aren`t other people to clean. I`m sorry about that!
BEARS
Do NOT leave food in your car! Bears frequent this area and can break in!

This was a great stay. Great views at the cabin, great communication with the host, conveniently located to downtown, Stanley hotel, and also RMNP. We didn’t brave the hot tub as the wind chill was never warmer than 9degrees F, but I’m sure it would have been great too.
My husband and I recently stayed at this very quaint cottage in Estes Park. It was very comfortable and decorated in keeping with a cabin feel. The floors were a bit creaky, but considering the age of the cabin...not unexpected and we acclimated quickly. The cabin has been updated and has all the amenities that you could want including a lovely hot tub on the deck. We were very comfortable. The walk to town is less than 10 minutes, so it is perfectly located and has a great view of the mountains and The Stanley. Highly recommend!!
The cabin itself is PERFECT, loved the location, feel and comfort of the place.
Also the owner was super super helpful and nice the whole time we were there.
