Charming house 4★ near Sarlat (Vitrac) - Quiet & nature (8-9 pers)

La Ferme du Four has been in our family for over five generations. It has just been completely renovated and you will find all modern comfort in an old house whose Périgourdin character has been scrupulously preserved.

The property is quietly located in a small village dating from the 12th century (5km south of its medieval center Sarlat), near the banks of the Dordogne (1km as the crow flies). The house can comfortably accommodate up to 9 people. It is ideal for a family with children. There is enough space to play and frolic safely!

The farm consists of a beautiful set of stone buildings from the region including the house and old stables (uninhabited!), all surrounded by about 5 hectares of fields and forest. This exceptional environment guarantees you peace and rest: the place is away from the main tourist highways and perched on a hillside overlooking the neighboring dwellings.

The nearest shops are in Sarlat and Cénac (7km). The tourist attractions of our beautiful region are close at hand: the village of Montfort and its castle (2km), the bastide of Domme (5km), the valley of the three castles (Beynac - Castelnaud - les Milandes) and the picturesque village of La Roque Gageac (10km), the prehistoric museum of Eyzies (20km) or the Lascaux cave (30km).

A wonderful property

We have just had a wonderful two week stay in this beautiful house. It is in a fabulous location, so many beautiful places within easy driving distance. The property is extremely comfortable and well equipped and is in a stunning location within the village. It was beautifully cared for and we had a lovely reception from Véro who looks after the property. I can’t recommend it highly enough. The views from the terrace, Witt the birds and wildlife, are fabulous.

A wonderful stay

We rented a house for two weeks from Florence anticipating that we could work from there easily. We both work remotely and rely 100% on great internet, especially for Zoom. We soon realized that not only was the internet slow, but it was barely functioning. From the moment we told Francoise, she got on it and never stopped. She was determined to help us in whatever way she could. She called the cable company many times, picked up new modems, arranged for us to work out of a hotel, and essentially took this on as her problem. The house is lovely, really well situated, has a ton of charm and because Francoise takes such incredible care of the house, it's a little paradise in the Dordogne.

It was unfortunate that both the residential and additionally acquired mobile connections were equally below standard, and that even local hotel establishments could not provide faster speeds. As the optics cables are now being installed in Vitrac, I trust the visitors will soon have a better experience.

Excellent gîte à tout point de vue: accueil attentionné et amical; tout est prévu dans les moindres détails pour le confort et l'agrément des vacanciers (logement spacieux bien agencé et rénové avec goût, matériel disponible, informations touristiques, et même des herbes aromatiques au jardin!). Séjour Dordogne

Nous avons passé un super séjour dans cette belle région. La location correspond à la description. Maison située en dehors des grands axes sans être isolée, proche des différents sites à visiter. Très agréable

Très agréable séjour dans une maison pleine de charme, au calme, bénéficiant de tout le confort d'une remise en état récente. La région est magnifique et propose de nombreuses activités. Superb renovated farmhouse at the Dordogne

We stayed for one week in this marvelous farmhouse at the Dordogne. It is a very authentic and beautiful restaurated farm, with a lot of space, a great kitchen and very good bedrooms. But most of the time we spend on the big terrace, with nice shade and a great view on the valley. Although it is very close to Sarlat and the Dordogne, it is a very quiet valley. Anaïs gave us a very nice welkom in a very clean house. If we needed anything we could reach Francoise or Aniäs directly. When we will comeback to the Dordogne we surely will try to stay here again.
