You are invited to experience this little paradise in the Queen Charlotte Sounds, only 15 minutes drive from Picton. Quiet, yet not too remote with cafes, shops, restaurants and wineries easily accessible.

The house has all day sun with sweeping views from the deck. Great for winding down, relaxing, or reading a book.

Walk or cycle along the recently opened Link pathway, which passes in front of the house, to enjoy the sweeping views of the bay and coastline. Two Kayaks are available and are a great way to relax and enjoy the bay,

The house is a much loved kiwi bach, fully renovated with the comforts of modern day living. It has 3 bedrooms. It is private, surrounded by trees, and has beautiful views from the deck, living area and main bedroom,

The property is fully fenced, safe for children and only steps away from the water. There is a great undercover outdoor entertaining area with a BBQ
.
There is a mooring for a 6m boat, and 2 single kayaks with lifejackets available on request.
There is very good mobile phone reception.

Full linen is provided. Please bring your own beach towels and bottled water for drinking,

It is a lovely, well cared for home. Please respect it and leave it tidy.
Special conditions:
Please take all rubbish with you.
Please only use the firewood provided for the log burner.
No tents or campervans allowed on the property.
No cleaning of cars/boats on property.
Please take shoes off when inside.

Our family of 5 (kids 4, 5 and 8) had the most special time in Ngakuta Bay. The house is set up so you can really make it feel like home away from home. The location of the Bach is fantastic - our kids could just hop over to the beach safely and enjoy some independence. Great, clear communication from the host Ben. Would love to come back again!

Perfect Location

Charming kiwi bach right on the waters edge in the beautiful Ngākuta Bay just a 20 minute drive from Picton. Has all the mod cons you need. We had a lovely stay.

A lovely stay in the sounds

It couldn't be closer to the water. Lovely to be able to swim and kayak so easily. It was also easy to get to Picton and all the tours that leave from there and Queen Charlotte track.

A lovely spot on a beautiful bay. A very well equipped kitchen and good cell phone reception. Renters should take note that there is no WiFi or TV and you need to bring your own drinking water.

A lovely stay.

This is a lovely holiday house in a great location. It was more private than we expected as is nestled in trees but with a great view of beautiful Ngākuta Bay. All amenities are thoughtfully provided. And sparkling clean. I suspect some of the reviews describing a classic kiwi bach pre date the improved bathroom and kitchen, which are good. It’s original construction is brick, so although a small footprint, there is very little noise between rooms. There is a lovely old bench seat and table on the verandah to while away many hours when not out in the water. Phone reception is excellent.

Beautiful little bay with lovely locals. Property was a true kiwi bach with a fresh feel. Loved taking the kajaks out too! Definitely recommended :)

Great bach

Lovely location, well equipped kitchen, kids loved exploring in the kayaks, thank you. A little more storage space would be great but otherwise this is a perfect holiday spot to get away from it all.

Perfect location

Gorgeous views and amazing location. Quaint property with really good facilities, plenty of discs. Two pieces of feedback would be the cleanliness of the shower and bathroom was not ideal and the water pressure not great. Log fire was absolutely fantastic however would be really good to have another form of heating, maybe a little fan heater just for the morning. Other than we absolutely loved it. Communication with owner was fantastic. Thank you

Beautiful spot!

We had such a lovely time in Ngakuta Bay. Ben kindly organised two portacots for us. The house can get cold but the wood fire heats the place up so quickly! Beautiful location, easy drive to Picton and havelock but also the full Sounds experience. Have recommended this place to all my friends!

Ben's place in Ngakuta Bay

Lovely relaxing friendly place to be and being able to take our small dog was good. Easy drive to shops in Picton for anything you may forget or in the other directions Mussels to be eaten in Havelock or Makana chocolate in Blenheim. A TV for the one rain day we had would have been good and surprised there was no WIFI. We would love to stay again sometime.

We all (five adults, a 2 year old and puppy) had a wonderful holiday kayaking, swimming and walking.

The property exceeded our expectations for a Bach holiday and Ben was great to deal with. He responded to queries immediately and there were little touches at the Bach which we appreciated e.g a toy for the 2 year old, a dog toy placed near the water bowl.

Had a fantastic stay in the property. I would recommend this house on the waterfront. The Ngakuta Bay community were so friendly and cared for their beautiful bay. Great communication from Ben prior and during our holiday. Will definitely return back to Ngakuta.

Wonderful Location and Stay

We loved our time spent at Ngakuta Bay- what a beautiful spot. The house was so well set up with clean and comfortable rooms. The location right by the beach was a highlight and a well fenced section meant we could bring our dog. We highly recommend this bach.

Fabulous spot

This place is perfect. Great location, clean and tidy, very quiet - although I imagine there are a lot more people around over summer. If you’re looking for a quiet place to get away from it all, with supermarkets etc only a short drive away, this is the place for you. I will definately be back!
