A nice property. Clean. Good beds. Nice kitchen. Nice roomy master bath. Good TV. Great location in North Central Michigan. 30 minutes to Mackinac Bridge/Island. Easy drive to Petoski. Located near main highway with easy access to I-75.
There was a lot of squeaky floorboards, and a lot of basic noise in the house. Needs to be insulated so the noises aren’t so loud. It was a very quaint and comfortable house though except for the noise.
We stayed here for a ski weekend in Feb 2021 and it was great. Large house that was perfect for our group. It was charming and clean. Owners were very accommodating.

Mary and her group are welcome back anytime. They were very respectful of the property.
The house fit our needs and had a great location. It’s a perfect house for fisherman and family’s who like to be close to town and the lakes. The host was responsive and very accommodating.
Charming older home just steps from town and the river. We had everything we needed for family fun and room to spare. Our host was available for questions and immediately responsive to questions that came up. We would stay here again for sure!
Large home with great accommodations. If you love antique homes this one is it. Lots of rooms, great mattresses. The floors are creaky but you get use to them.
Easy walking distance to town and bike ride to beach.
The house was lovely! The only thing I wish I had known is that the house has a funeral parlor very close behind and there were services so we couldn't use the firepit or back yard.
Loved the location - able to walk to shops, ice cream parlor, restaurants! Historic house with interesting charm and simplicity. We had one issue with blowing a fuse, but owner guided us through over the phone and we regained power very soon!
Beautiful public beach a mile away! Plenty of parking for our four cars. Enjoyed sitting on the big porch watching our family have a corn-hole contest! Great place to gather for a large group - there were 11 in our group.
We stayed here for 2 days and 2 nights. It was clean and beds seemed comfortable. Don’t plan on sneaking around the house because the floors are creaky😊. The house seemed cold and we couldn’t seem to get it to warm up. If you go in the winter take slippers and extra blankets! It was a great rental over all and I recommend it to anyone.
We really enjoyed our stay at Kelly & Adam’s place. We dealt mostly with Adam while on our trip and he was great to deal with. We were a bit let down that we weren’t able to get in at the scheduled time as the cleaners were running behind (1 hour past check in), but once we got in the house was impeccably clean (worth the wait)! Beds were comfortable, showers/tubs clean and had plenty of hot water, and overall space was exactly what our large party needed. The kids enjoyed the fire pit and backyard space to play. There were also several board games and a smart tv to keep the kids busy. The full kitchen was a god send as we brought food to cook while on our stay. We did reach out to Adam once in regards to a broken step, and he was quick to get a handyman out to look at it. Speed of service and response was awesome. We would definitely stay again!

Stay
The best word that I can stay for this is that it was adequate. There were very limited if any Wi-Fi connections, no garbage disposal, no dishwasher were very difficult for a large group. The saying there was a fire pit was a joke since it was no more than on a hill that we would have had to use the plastic chairs off of the front porch to sit around. The usually when I rent a place from someone that is near water there are water toys water boards water kayaks I know this isn't the ocean but the river close by was very adequate for floating down and there was nothing of that sort at all. It just wasn't worth $800 a night there was no excellence in any way shape or form to this place
Nine adults and 5 children ages 9 and under stayed at this home. The layout was good for our needs, with one of the 2-bed rooms having enough space to add a pack n' play and a child's cot at the foot of the beds. There was sufficient room on the main floor to "hang out" without being too crowded, and the large living room was wonderful, with lots of floor space and comfy couches. Though there's not much yard space, the adjacent (unused at the time) parking lot was perfect for playing ball, jumprope, riding a balance bike for the very young ones, etc. The large wrap-around porch got lots of use, daytime and evening, with our group.
The location was perfect for what we wanted, as the beach at Burt Lake was so close, and the Mackinac Bridge and Petoskey weren't very far away. The just-down-the-street playground was so nice and got lots of use, as well as the large, grassy area beside it for playing frisbee, etc.. The nearby river was available for fishing too.
As another review stated, it's an old, creaky house, and you hear pretty much every footstep, running water, and flushes. But I don't think any of us minded that too much.
No dishwasher.
There were, however, two items that were unpleasant--the laundry area is in a (dirty) Michigan Basement, (but washer and drier are nice.) Also, the main floor's bathroom has a tub and shower that's not nearly as nice as the upstairs bathroom.
All in all, we had a wonderful experience!
PS We loved Wilson's Restaurant.
The place was charming, just as advertised. Beds were comfortable, sheets too! Which means a lot to me! It is an older place so it is noisy- creaky doors, thin walls, and the traffic outside can be heard. This probably only matters if you have a baby or young children. Cute downtown!
We had a great stay in Indian River thanks to Kelly and her lovely home. It was clean, comfortable, and well decorated and stocked - great for a large group. The river access location and proximity to Indian River was perfect!

2 Bathrooms not sufficient for such large house
With 14 people occupancy only 2 bathrooms are not at all sufficient. That to one can not be used for taking bath. Need to have provisions at least for half bath so that folks can get ready while others are taking shower.
This property fit the needs of our ski trip! It had the right amount of bedrooms for our group and was in a great location close to some amazing restaurants for such a small town!
