About the host

Host profile image
Your hosts, Mike and Carole Wolfe. The renovations on the Farmhouse was completed in 2020 and opened January 2021. Working on a house that was a century old was a very challenging undertaking, but it’s been a labor of love. Refinishing the original oak floors (we kept the ember marks left by the old wood stoves in the sitting room and kitchen), completely gutting a kitchen that had undergone several haphazard renovations, rescuing the dining room original French doors from the basement, and removing a sagging back porch and replacing it with a deck big enough for a grill and dining area. Adding a fire pit to the backyard. It’s all been so satisfying to see the old place come back to life.

We live in the home next door. We also know that you didn't come to visit with us. We are very respectful of your privacy. However, we are available for any help you may need with suggestions or directions.

Why they chose this property

Mike grew up here in this county, Carole grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. The Farmhouse makes a perfect base for exploring everything western North Carolina has to offer. We are 5 minutes from I-26 and I-40 interchange. 5 minutes from the Arboretum, the entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Outlets Mall, grocery stores, restaurants and the Farmers’ Market. 15 minutes from downtown, the Biltmore Estate, the Asheville Airport and 30 to 45 minutes from Black Mountain, Waynesville and Maggie Valley. Only a little over an hour to some of the areas best ski resorts.
