Great covered deck off of the kitchen, perfect place to relax for hours and enjoy meals. Great view down to the lake.Communication with hosts was easy and timely.

The house is a little outdated, but very cozy. The dock is lovely, though the top deck feels a little unstable. The water is very low right now and so the dock was dry. We had a great time kayaking around and hanging out by the water.

The property was wonderful for a long weekend at the lake with friends and family. We had everything we needed and were very comfortable. Plenty of parking and nice yard. The water was pretty low but we still had fun swimming and hanging out by the lake. Would book this again!

Short SML vacation

When our children were young we vacationed at SML every summer so it was special to spend a couple of days at the lake with one of our sons and his family.

Wonderful Time

Last minute plan to visit beautiful Smith Mountain Lake for Spring Break & Easter. Wonderful location, lake house and view. We look forward to returning soon and enjoying warmer weather but enjoyed every minute! Thank you!

Fantastic home for family vacation

Great, quiet location. Lakeside Dream is a spacious and clean home with lots to do inside. Sandy beach for my kids to have fun. Party deck for sunny reading space. Our dog loved jumping off the dock into the lake! Thanks for the opportunity to stay in your home!

Family Vacation

We had a wonderful family vacation at this home and will return next year. This is a great location on the lake and the sandy beach area where you can walk into the lake puts this property over the top. It’s perfect for little ones (and old ones lol) to safely play in the beautiful clear water. The house is comfortable with plenty of space and the screened in porch is fabulous. The owner is so nice and very responsive. We loved our vacation!

Three sisters from 3 states came for a celebration and were very satisfied. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, pots, pans, baking sheets, skillets, spices, coffee pot and k cup coffee maker. There are many areas inside and out for relaxing and dining. We loved having our own beach and dock since the dog with us does dock diving. Food lion is close by with a good selection of fresh produce and meats. The Mexican restaurant had delicious food. This was a very relaxing, safe, quiet neighborhood.

What a beautiful home! My husband and I spent our New Years Eve 9th Anniversary (12-31-04) here and had a wonderful time. We live in the big city and it was great to enjoy a week of quiet with such beautiful views. The fully equipped kitchen made it so easy to plan that quiet anniversary dinner. And my husband loved the lake! Thank you so much for allowing us to spend our special time in your home. We look forward to visiting again real soon.

Just Okay

We've stayed at several houses in SML. We wouldn't stay in this one again. It wasn't very clean. Also, not great for swimming off the dock as it is very shallow. Because of it being shallow, it is hard to dock a boat.

Cute, beautiful location but could use some TLC

We enjoyed our short stay at this SML home. Loved the kayaks, paddle board, screened porch and gaming amenities. Rented a boat and effectively used the dock. The neighborhood is very nice and the driveway provided adequate parking. Only downside is the house could use some TLC. Fresh paint, deep cleaning, Things that can be overlooked, but add to the overall atmosphere. One major concern is the boat house has no cross-bracing, and shakes/sways when all of us were on it.

Great Property

We had a great time at this property. The house is spotless, beach is wonderful. There is additional benefit for hot days: shaded area in the water under the high deck. We had a toddler with us, she loved the playground at the beach. Our dogs had a blast. Neighbors are very friendly. My husband was getting ready for a triathlon and we did long distance swimming along the shore every day. Boat traffic was not as high as in some other areas at the lake. Owners are very nice, they got back to us right away a couple of times when we had a question.

Perfect Family Retreat

We had a FABULOUS time at this home! It was perfect size for our family of five plus our dogs. We didn’t even really use the basement so more could have fit comfortably. The screen room was amazing to over look the water and you can’t beat the nice size yard with the privacy of the trees. Our daughters loved the beach area, and we all spent most of our time out in the water. We were sad our vacation had to end, and we hope to be able to make it back to this home again in the future. Denise, the owner was very responsive and great to work with too which is a huge plus. Thank you for opening your home to rent!

Nice Place But…

Whoever cleans/checks the house after a visit did not do a good job. The fire pit was not cleaned out as required nor was the grill. It had to be cleaned before we could use it. Also, you are required to take the trash to the dump but no outside garbage can is provided so we had to go to the dump every other day. Not really something you want to have to take time to do when you are on vacation. And the neighbor next door does not pick up after his dog so be careful when walking yours.

Nice stay

Only issues were long hair (looked to be women's) stuck to the sides of the upstairs bathtub...some of the silverware was dirty and would have been nice to have the grass mowed before we came...the docks are really close together but wasn't really an issue...met our needs and we had a great time
