This property was SO perfect!! My family and I stayed here to celebrate my graduation from my MBA program, and there was more than enough space for everyone to stay comfortably! We would definitely stay here again!
Our stay was for our 4-h State Marksman competition and it worked out great for the 4 families that stayed there. Clean, comfy and plenty of entertainment
Great place to spend the holidays with a large family!
The house was nicely decorated for Christmas including a Christmas tree. I had a large family arriving at different days during the week. The only thing that would have made it better would have been a bathroom in the downstairs area. I would definitely stay there again!
We arrived late and the host was accommodating. The house was clean and cozy. It was a great layout for our kids to play and have fun. We are definitely planning on staying again in the future!

Karlee and her group were great guests that took good care of our home. Would recommend them to any host
Great stay with extended family for Thanksgiving Holiday!
We hosted 10 family members for Thanksgiving dinner, turkey and all! This house was perfect for cooking the dinner and had all the cooking utensils we needed! Three generations were able to spread out and were very comfortable.
Location central to Shaker Village, Danville and Lexington - we spent a day in each, along with several tours on the Bourbon Trail. The house provided a wonderful gathering place, with kitchen/living room, front porch and firepit. Enjoyed the rural location, with lots of walks in the neighborhood. The house has been nicely updated and has lots of nice decorating touches. Very comfortable for our group of 6 senior (or almost senior) women.
Came for a Family Wedding. Stayed from a Friday to Sunday.
Danville KY was about 30 Minutes away. It's the closest city, enjoyed the shopping area. Had a Bk, McDonald's, Cracker Barrel and a Pizza/Italian Buffet called Giovanni's very good. Has a Walmart and Ollie's. Good location to check out for shopping.
House was Beautiful inside, nice setup upstairs and downstairs.
Hopefully Host got toilet downstairs in full working condition so you can have full use of toilet & tub.
All in all we had a nice Visit.

Guests clogged the downstairs toilet after being asked when checking in to be mindful about what they flushed down it. The property is on a septic tank and there are signs above the toilets reminding them to use caution. To avoid the warnings and then to indicate we should fix it is unreasonable.
The house was nice and kept up. Built on the side of a hill so the road was almost above the house roof. Needed to use the 4x4 a couple of times to get on the road. Not much of a drive way but again not a major deal. Was informed the first day of our booking that the pool pressure gauge was broken the day before, the owner had ordered the part, but didn’t know if it would be fixed during our stay. The owner said that the pool was clear and ph level and chlorine were good. I have included a picture of the pool to let you be the judge. This fix should not have taken over 5 days had someone actually tried. I’m sure this part could have been found somewhere in the surrounding area had someone actually tried. The landscaping of the house looked like it hadn’t been touch since spring. Being on the side of a hill, didn’t leave much desire to have little ones playing outside.

The guest wants to tell part of the story. Yes a previous guest that checked out the day before broke the pressure gauge and we had secured it tight enough to run the pump as long as water levels were maintained. On the day of check in a message was left asking the guest to call so the pool could be explained. He called upset and would not listen to what happened. He had already tried to remove the gauge which caused our plan on how to run the pool to no longer work. In other words he broke it all the way off. He called a 2nd time telling me how to fix it. The next morning he sent a message through VRBO asking for a refund. I indicated he could find another place and I would refund for all but one night…no response from him. We too have a picture of the pool he checked it and records of the PH and Chlorine level. On the issue of the landscaping, the yard is on a hill and the yard/grass area is maintained. The woods that surrounded the house are not maintained. The guest indicated that he would have 10 people staying in the house. We have record via out door cameras of 14 people who stayed at the house. Avoid this guest if you are a VRBO host!
The property was amazing. Had a few issues when we were there. The pump on the pool never turned on that we know of. The down stairs bathroom would not drain properly and we could not use the toilet.

The house is very nice and Mark was very helpful in answering my questions before we arrived. However, it was unclear in the description and comments as to where the bathrooms are located. They are both upstairs. The "kitchenette" in the basement does not have any running water or dishes, so it would be difficult to use. There was also only seating for seven so I am glad we brought a card table to set up so we could sit together for meals or to play games. It would be nice to have a table in the basement as well. The fire pit was great and we did enjoy the pool. And the location was very peaceful. However, there was an odor of the septic system and we did not find access to even view the lake from the property. This was the first property that I rented where the owner required that either insurance be taken out or a 3000 deposit be made. That was annoying as Vrbo advertised the price as the total, but when we went to pay it was almost 200 more for the insurance and taxes. I would expect that most people would be careful and would pay if there were any damages so is insurance or a ridiculously large deposit necessary? The family time was great and overall it was a really good experience!

We are glad that this guest and their co-guests enjoyed the pool and peaceful area. It is a summer highlight for us, too. We wish we could do something about liability possibilities when inviting guests to use our property with a pool. But as it is a huge liability risk, I’m sure these guest can wrap their heads around our financial protection needs and support that for others in the future as well.
We wish that this set of visitors had been forthcoming that they would try to squeeze 12 people into our home, not the 9 that were registered. There are requirements in our area that we strive to adhere to. With it being a 5 bedroom 2 full bath, 3000 squ ft, 1 acre property with a pool, the cost of under $300 a night for up to 10 guests can’t be matched with the same number of people trying to get the same amenities ( including laundry room, a full, stocked kitchen and a bonus snack kitchen). These guests got that all for 12 guests and want to complain? It might be a good exercise for guests like this to run the numbers and come to understand the value they get with a short term rental option.
One toilet didn’t work, no railing at entrance, ceiling fan in kitchen was filthy, several chairs in the kitchen were broken. Our car drug when we pulled out of gravel parking area. We had 2 on canes and with no railing it was very hard entering and leaving.

Jean complained about the costs from the time they made the reservation wanting more of a discount. There are no chairs broken in the kitchen. There is one step to the porch and one step from the porch to the house so there is no rail. However there is a side entrance with a rail to hold onto but more steps. Yes the driveway is on a hill but nothing which isn’t uncommon in KY. KY is not flat terrain. Yes one toilet was not made available with 3 toilets in the home bc a previous guest that checked out the day before clogged it with baby wipes. An unfortunate temporary problem.
We enjoyed our stay and were pleased with the house overall. It was very clean and communication was top notch and timely. Our only issue was the cleanliness of the pool. The pool required us to thoroughly skim it (well over an hour) and we were unable to completely remove the large amount of decayed and decaying leaves. When questioning whether the pump was operational we were told that it was on a timer to run over night. While we believe that this was the case the cycle may need to run for a much longer time due to its location under a walnut tree. Overall we had a great stay.

The property is located in a wooded area surrounded by trees. It is not possible to keep debris from falling into the pool. Not possible to keep it looking like a “commercial hotel” pool. Would consider having it cleaned daily for a fee. If Tony would have requested this we would have provided but didn’t communicate this until they checked out.
After months of staying home we needed a change of scenery without breaking the bank or a long drive. This home was the perfect oasis for our family to celebrate a birthday weekend with close friends. The house was very clean and had plenty of space for the kids and adults to spread out and enjoy. All of the beds and bedding was comfortable and felt very clean. The dads and the kids ventured out one morning down the creek bed all the way down to Lake Harrington and came back with drenched shoes and huge smiles! The property owners were extremely hospitible and we felt like we were staying at a friend's home rather than a rental.
We would love to come back sometime, and hear there may be a swimming pool coming next year!! Our only suggestion would be to increase comfortable seating both inside (Dining area and basement) as well as outside around the fire pit, so bring your own chairs for your outdoor relaxing.
Thank you for a memorable weekend!
