Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful review! We’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed the cleanliness, the coffee bar, fire pit area, and the deck. It sounds like you made the most of the beautiful home and surroundings, which we love to hear!
I am sorry to hear about the issues you encounter and wish we would have know about this during your stay so we could have tried to address it at that time. We will look into these issues to fix for future renters, thank you.
The house and scenery were beautiful. We had a wonderful time fishing the local Lake, rivers, and creeks. Chippewa Falls is a short drive to find restaurants, ice cream, movie theater, and tackle shops.

So glad to hear how much you enjoyed your stay at our vacation rental. Thank you for taking wonderful care of our property. We would be honored to host your stay again if you visit our area in the future.
The property was spacious & clean. Had all the kitchen supplies needed to cook our meals. Able to enjoy a bonfire while grandchildren tried catching fish on the river off the dock.
Relaxed & enjoyed the time with family.

So glad to hear you enjoyed your time at Lake Wissota Trail Lodge. Time with family is priceless. Thank you for taking such great care of our home, hope you consider staying again.
Nice place; loved the view of the river. Kitchen was perfect for our group of six adults. Nice and plentiful towels. Two very small things that would really be nice: 1. a deck of cards and some board games (if there were any, we couldn't find them) and 2. newer brochures from the area. The brochures were from 2020!

Thank you for staying at our vacation rental and the kind words, we are so glad you enjoyed our place! We value and appreciate your feedback and we couldn’t agree more. We will look into getting those two things added and updated soon!
The property was nicely updated and stocked with necessities. Really enjoyed the quiet mornings by the river in the swing. The doc was not conducive to boarding and off boarding a kayak without getting in the water. Very close and convenient to a beautiful bike riding trail.
Sprinkler came on too often and got the outside patio wet, chairs, wood and other things left out
The property was nice. The door between the small rental and ours was not locked. Fortunately no one stayed for the weekend

Thanks for taking great care of our property. We have had a dry July and upped the watering of the lawn to keep it healthy. Sorry about the extra watering. Thanks for letting us know about the lockout. Hope you decide to stay again.
Our family really enjoyed our extended weekend. The brick paved firepit area was a big hit for us as was the short stairs down to the dock making getting in the boats super easy. The home is very well equipped with towels, bedding, cookware and service ware. The appliances were all beautiful. The only cons I would have to mention are the bedrooms are all downstairs on basement level and the homes' location is pretty much as far upriver as you can go by boat so the ride down to the actual lake takes some time, but the scenery makes the trip well worth it!
This house was in a perfect location. Close enough to the Festival grounds in Cadott, but far enough away to be out of any commotion. Jim falls is a nice town to stay in. They have a couple restaurants and a nice gas station just down the road from the property.
The house being right on the water was nice for fishing or drinking coffee from the coffee bar on the deck in the morning. The yard is well kept and has a nice fire pit for use.
Inside the house, all the bedrooms (beside the attached studio) are in the basement which was nice because it was cooler. The kitchen is larger enough for many people to hang out, and the living room had plenty of seating even with the pull out bed pulled out.
The communication with the host was amazing! Their response rate was quick and the messaging was informative.
Our group would 100% stay there again.

The home offers nice spaces for families to gather, both inside and out. The main level is great. There are a few things though, that guests should know:The bedrooms are on the lower level, which is mostly underground and had a strong musty smell typical of damp basements. Opening windows helped but a king room lacks a window screen, letting in bugs when any lights were on, had a very large 3ft spiderweb over the bed and a decent level of dust on the blinds. All lower-level bedrooms and pull-out couch room share one bathroom (for 8 ppl). Pull-out couches have thin mattresses; top bunk isn't flush to the wall and doesn't have a rail there. The lower studio apartment garage space is nice, and did not have the mildew smell. All bathrooms lacked shampoo, conditioner, and soap despite the listing offering amenities. All bath soap dispensers were 90% diluted, and thereby ineffective.Outdoors was nice but needs a bit more detailed upkeep— vegetation covered half the pier, gutters were full of plants. If you plan to swim, know that the river water is brown.Despite these notes, we did have a nice stay. Closer attention to detail with cleanliness, amenities and upkeep would have earned it a better rating. Note: There were unfounded allegations from the cleaning service which we disputed. We had done multiple thorough walk-thrus before we left, and left the home in perfect condition. Guests should be aware and consider taking a detailed video or pics before you leave.

We have addressed many of these issues since your stay. We are happy you brought some of these issues to our attention like the bunk bed and over grown vegetation, which have been taken care of. We were not aware of these issues and sometimes don’t know there’s a problem until guests bring it to our attention. All soaps have been replaced as well.
As for the musty smell, we have been to the property a number of times and the only time it smelled musty was after the guests left which we believe was caused by the guests not following specific rules we have. Nevertheless we believe the issue is taken care of and we always appreciate feedback, so we can make sure we offer the best stay possible for all guests.
We had 8 women at the property and ran out of water every day by noon and people couldn’t shower, wash hands or do dishes. We had to get water from the lake to force flushing of toilets.

Sorry that you incurred this inconvenience. The well has been fixed.
A perfect setting for our (adult) family's week of downtime. Clean home with plenty of gathering spaces for reading and game playing. We all enjoyed relaxing right on the river. We prepared almost all of our meals, and the kitchen was great! The owner and property manager were extremely responsive to a minor issue we experienced.

Great home and location
We had a group of 10 and the home fit well for all. We had 6 teenagers and four adults. The two king rooms worked well for the adults. The kids loved the dock to fish from and the fire pit to sit around. We loved the extra beverage fridge which was very helpful. Home had all conveniences including extra paper towel, garbage bags, tp and laundry detergent. This was awesome and we wish we had known as we wouldn’t have hauled everything with or bought at store on our way in. We had two issues with our stay one was check in. When we arrived at the property the code for the box was not accurate. We immediately emailed the contact and tried the phone number for contact. The phone number was also wrong and went to a telemarketing firm (which has resulted in numerous scam calls since). We were able to track down the owner through an internet search and he called back. One other issue was the phone service was not good, we were however able to get connected to the wifi when standing by the front door so that we could make a call. The other item not mentioned in the description is that the garage os converted into another unit that was rented out to another couple. We were aware there was another unit but we didn’t know how that set up was as pictures were not included. We sort of assumed it might have been a detached unit. It was a bit awkward hearing conversations and TV from our bedrooms when it was not from our group. Overall it was not a huge issue and we really enjoyed the stay and would recommend it.
3 hideaways are exactly that. Sleep is okay for small children. Bunk bed and 2 kings. Would have preferred more beds.

About the host
Hosted by Julie and Wayne
Hello, we are Julie and Wayne and have lived in this area our whole lives. We also live on Lake Wissota and believe this to be the BEST area to live and play. There is so much recreation right out our back door. We love the Chippewa Valley. We are excited to share this beautiful area with our guests.
Why they chose this property
We just love the solitude of this property. The quiet neighbors are super nice. This place has it all. Keep your boat at the dock and ready for when the fish are biting, and/or bring your bikes to explore the miles and miles of trails dedicated to your hiking/biking/snowmobiling fun through Chippewa Falls and Eau Claire. Located in the quaint town of Jim Falls, WI only 18 minutes from Leinies Lodge in Chippewa Falls.
