Welcome! We hope that you have a wonderful stay at our home on the scenic western mountains of Maine. Relax and enjoy the natural surroundings and serenity of this special place. Please remember that this is our home; treat it and our belongings with the same respect that you would expect if someone were visiting your home. We found this property in 2018 and decided it was the perfect place to enjoy year-round with its beautiful lake and proximity to Sugarloaf for skiing and the hiking of the Bigelow Mountains. We enjoy spending time here with our family and friends along with our son.

Jeff owns and runs an international travel company, ActivSport Travel and Jess is a high school Math teacher in South Portland. Our passions lay in soccer, skiing, traveling the world, and being outdoors.

We know you will love your time at Porter Lake and feel free to say hi to the friendly neighbors, there are very nice people that live here. The setting is so relaxing you will be tempted not to leave but be sure to take advantage of the many hikes and trails in the area both during the winter and the summer!

Enjoy our home and have a wonderful stay!

Why they chose this property

We chose this property because we immediately fell in love with the peaceful lakefront setting, the incredible views, and the natural beauty of Porter Lake. Its clean, clear water, abundant wildlife, and quiet atmosphere make it one of western Maine’s true hidden gems and a place that feels far removed from the crowds and stress of everyday life.

We were specifically looking for a property that could offer something special during every season. In the winter, we wanted to be close enough to Sugarloaf and Saddleback for skiing and snowmobiling while still enjoying the privacy and relaxation of a true lakefront retreat away from the busy ski condo scene. During the warmer months, the lake becomes the centerpiece for swimming, boating, fishing, kayaking, and simply enjoying long peaceful days surrounded by nature.

Another reason we love this location is the easy access to so many of Maine’s best outdoor activities including hiking in the Bigelow Mountains, the Appalachian Trail, Maine Huts & Trails, ATV riding, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and fall foliage drives throughout western Maine.

This property has become a place where we enjoy gathering with family and friends year-round, and we hope you and your loved ones will create lasting memories here as well.

Enjoy your stay!

Jess + Jeff
