About this property
Beautiful & Secluded 3BR, 1 bath with full kitchen serving Ann Arbor & Ypsilanti
Unwind at this newly renovated mid-century home. It is surrounded by woods and bamboo, so it feels very private. You can eat in the cathedral dining area, or on the back patio in the warmer seasons. The mattresses and pillows are memory foam, each room has ample charging stations, the Amazon Smart TV is connected to Wi-Fi, and the large kitchen offers anything you’ll need. Perfect for families, friend groups, or teams, the three bedrooms can hold up to 6 guests comfortably. *Host occupies first floor apartment, which is totally separate. No parties of more than 10!
A door with a deadbolt divides the two spaces. We each have separate entrances. I'm available to help you with laundry (which is in my space), or with the fire pit or grill, or if you have any other questions. Otherwise, I'll be out of your way. However, if you prefer to meet and receive a welcome and tour, I'm always happy to do so.

About the host
Hosted by Natalie M Bruno

I don't know which I love more - traveling and staying in VRBOs or hosting guests in my own VRBO at Hillside Manor. I love the sharing economy and participate in any way I can. I also love meeting people, hearing their stories, hosting, serving, exploring, and going on adventures.
On the home front, I enjoy every aspect of hosting - communicating with guests, helping to plan outings in the area, recommending restaurants and hikes, preparing the rooms (even the cleaning!), renovating the house, tending the garden, and listening to feedback to make this a most enjoyable stay.
Since the pandemic's start, I've worked from home. I'm the first employee at a tech start-up called Jottful in Ann Arbor. We make and maintain professional websites for VERY small businesses affordably. What I love is serving our customers, helping small businesses compete in a competitive world, and managing our team members.
My travels have brought me mostly to National Parks in 2020 and 2021 - the Rocky Mountains in CO, Pictured Rocks in MI's UP, and Acadia National Park in Maine. However, as the world opens up again, I'm planning a trip to Italy in May of 2022, and to Greece in 2023.
I'm a total foodie, a yogi, a reader, writer, and photographer, a gardener, a cook, a musician, and real estate investor. Can't wait to meet you and talk about life, food and travels. Namaste.

Why they chose this property
I bought this property in August of 2021 specifically to turn it into a vacation rental property. It is a tri-level with a first floor that is perfect for me, so I'm on premise, and enjoy the upstairs kitchen when I don't have guests.
The entryway is grand. It's hard not to love all wood floors and tall, cathedral ceilings. The dining area just off the kitchen overlooks the cathedral living space. While there is seating for six, two bar stools expand that for guests or visitors.
So far, every guest has enjoyed the kitchen, either baking, cooking, or drinking wine (and sometimes all three!). It is a focal point of this property. Large and open, it is completely stocked with anything a cook may need.
The bedroom furniture is specifically purchased for comfort and ease for most guests. There are memory foam mattresses and pillows, hotel-quality linens, a variety of blankets, and charging stations in each room. Large closet organizers are in two rooms, perfect for longer stays, and third bedroom has a dresser.
Guests will enjoy a Amazon Smart TV with wi-fi to access any streaming service, or login access to my Sling account (prioritizing live TV, news, and sports).
I like to greet all guests. That said, if for privacy or safety reasons, you'd rather enter on your own, I have a smart lock set up.
Hillside Manor is 15 minutes from Michigan Stadium, so a nice getaway from the craziness of downtown Ann Arbor on game days. It's also minutes from Washtenaw Golf Course, which is beautiful. Eastern Michigan University and Ypsi's Depot town are under 10 minutes away. There is a fresh grocer, Fresh Thyme Market, down the street, and ample hiking opportunities in Ypsil, Ann Arbor, and Pittsfield Township, mostly 10-15 minutes away.
It's a lovely stay for larger groups who want to feel at home away from home.

What makes this property unique
In the warmer months, there is a hammock and eating area out front. There is also a brick fire pit and charcoal Weber Grill in the back with seating for 6.
The fire-pit comes with hot dog / marshmallow skewers and fire starter material. You can bring your own wood, or buy a bundle from me for $10 and save the hassle.
In the winter snow season, the front yard is on a hill and great for sledding for younger kids. There is a thick row of trees before the street.
I love to promote the area, so I offer suggestions for hikes, local kayaking, great restaurants, and unique local experiences.
