We had a great stay here! Its an incredibly convenient location, walkable to restaurants and shops as well as the light rail into downtown! The host was incredibly fast to respond to any questions we had and was super friendly!
was a great place to stay. host was very pleasant and helpful only issue was hot water was noy very hot
i would stay again anytime we all had a great time
Great location for quick walk to restaurants and to light rail. Location was great for a weekend with friends to be able to use light rail for concert at T-Mobile.
This place was perfect for our stay. It’s an old house, but in good shape, and had everything we needed. Loved that there was a dining table with six chairs, a well stocked kitchen with nice pots and pans, and that it was within a five minute walk of the light rail. Would definitely come stay here again!
Good location for public transport. Clean but does need some maintenance. Overall we had a good stay.

The overall cleanliness of the place was not great. We especially did not enjoy the neighborhood, while it was close to transportation, the area was not great. We were woken up every night with people yelling on the streets or loud noises. Overall I do not believe the description of the unit met the expectation.

Hi Rosalva,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. I’m truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We do our best to maintain a clean and comfortable space, and I’ll review this with our cleaning team to make sure improvements are made.
Regarding the neighborhood, while it is close to public transportation and city amenities, I understand that the street noise can be disruptive at times. I’m sorry this affected your stay.
I appreciate your comments as they help us improve for future guests, and I wish you safe and pleasant travels ahead.
Very clean, close to train. Great neighborhood with a lot of variety for restaurants. Lots of Parks and trails to venture out on. Lake Washington was also within walking distance. Everyone had a wonderful trip.
We enjoyed our stay very much. Location was excellent for transportation by light rail. 4 stops to the Stadium and 4 stops to the airport. Very handy. Lack of restaurants around. Just one coffee shop around the corner. But very happy with our choice.
This two-bedroom, two full bath home was less than 5 minutes to the light rail which made it super convenient to get to the airport, the baseball stadium, the ferry and downtown attractions. The owner was very responsive and allowed us to store our luggage in the house before check-in while the cleaners finished up. The home was very comfortable for my husband and me and our son and daughter-in-law.

The lower tenants woke us up fighting and screaming every night we were there. So much so we had to call the police because there was clear physical abuse happening. The fighting went from 12:00 am-3:00 both nights. I recorded the audio. Contacts the police and contacted the property owner. The property owner told me it would be taken care of and promised he would call to discuss the situation. I sent the audio to the owner. Never heard from the owner or the police. Not a safe place to rent.

Hi Stacy,
I’m very sorry to hear about the disturbance you experienced during your stay. Safety and comfort are extremely important to us, and I regret that this situation disrupted your visit. While the issue stemmed from other tenants in the building and was outside of our direct control, I completely understand how upsetting and unacceptable that must have been.
We did reach out to the property owner regarding your report and provided the details you shared. I apologize if there was any breakdown in communication afterward. Your feedback will be used to continue pressing for stronger action so this does not happen again.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and again, I’m truly sorry your stay was impacted in this way.
This property is in a quaint neighborhood and yet very convenient to the train, just a short walk. The short walk to my daughters house just a block away was pleasant. We admired the spring flowers and flowering trees along the way. The host greeting book was very welcoming and the many travel books were very helpful. So happy to have found this place to stay so close to ,my daughter and eateries.

Thank you so much for your review. You are always welcome back.
Easy to find, simple to check-in, and fast communication from the host. Charming old house. Our bunch starting referring to it as “home” when we’d head back from our daily ventures. Great access point to the Light Rail! We were able to check out a Saturday evening farmer’s market in the neighborhood, complete with a band and dancing, and found Columbia City to be a perfect choice for our stay.
Clean. Nothing fancy, but met our needs really well for a work training. Walkable to 2 full service groceries, a handful of bars, probably 10 restaurants, 1-2 music venues and 2 movie theaters. Coworker raved about the Vietnamese food and I saw 3 Ethiopian restaurants. Soul food and Geraldines are great. The upstairs shower & bathroom is small but the first floor bathroom is roomy.

Ease of location is great
Although it turned out to be fine, we had a bit of a rocky start as the property was not guest ready. To his credit, the owner immediately reacted and provided us with clean linens for us to use the first night (we arrived in the evening). The best part about this unit is the proximity to the light rail; it was perfect for airport and sightseeing! Probably the most negative point is that the unit sits between two abandoned/condemned houses. It’s not a very reassuring and welcoming sight.
House was as described, except that central air was installed while we were there! Enjoyed staying in Columbia City. The house is very close to light rail, which is convenient to getting to most Seattle attractions, as well as only a few blocks to a grocery store and restaurants. As another guest noted, there isn't sheets for the pull out couch, which would be nice, but we were visiting family so we borrowed some from them. House does have a coffee maker, but no coffee, so we again borrowed some from family. If you don't want to brew your own, Olympia Coffee is about a 4 block walk, so there are options!
Another thing to note is that there is construction in the neighborhood. Didn't bother me any, but they did start working pretty early in the morning.
Thanks for a great stay!
Overall, the house worked well for us. Would stay there again.

Positives: Inside the house is cute and the light rail was just a few blocks away, as advertised. Negatives: we learned that the air conditioner is controlled by the basement tenant & when we arrived the first night, the house was quite hot inside because the weather had been hot for a few days. We had to contact the owner who then had to contact the tenant to turn on the a/c unit. It was fine at first but then the tenant turned it off during the night & everyone in our party was too warm to sleep. The same thing happened the next day. We had to ask the owner to contact the tenant again to turn the a/c back on. It was a hassle & shouldn't have happened. The upstairs unit should have its own system, independent of the downstairs unit. Especially when customers are renting a space that advertises having "air conditioning". Otherwise, there should be a disclosure that the thermostat can be controlled by someone not even living in the space you've rented. The owner should be more upfront about how that system works. Also to note, the house next door is abandoned and boarded up and the yard is completely overrun with 4' high weeds. While I understand one cannot control one's neighbors, it just makes the area look really rundown & feel a bit unsafe. Also, the basement tenant smokes and the smoke was coming into the upstairs unit through the vents so we had to deal with cigarette smoke on top of it all. I would not rent this property again.

Hi Carin,
Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the inside of the house and its convenient location near the light rail.
I’m very sorry for the challenges you experienced with the air conditioning and the smoke from the downstairs unit. I understand how frustrating it must have been to rely on another tenant for temperature control, and I recognize that this was not the experience you expected. Your comments are valid, and I will make sure future guests have clear information about how the system operates, as well as work toward finding a more independent solution for the upstairs unit.
As for the neighboring property, you are correct that it’s not something within our control, but I do understand how it can affect the overall impression of the area. I’ll continue to communicate with the property owner about possible remedies and ensure guests are aware.
I truly value your feedback as it highlights areas where we can improve, and I’m sorry this stay did not meet your expectations.
Wishing you all the best in your future travels.

Quick weekend in Seattle
When we arrived, the door code wouldn’t work but we had fast communication with the host and were able to get in quickly. Our family (4 adults) stayed in this rental which was in excellent proximity to the light rail (5 min walk). If you have mobility issues, this wouldn’t be the house for you as there are steps leading up to the main door and then many up to the second floor. When we arrived, the house was extremely warm but once we opened up the windows it cooled off nicely. There was no air conditioning. We had someone sleep on the couch so felt safe enough to leave all main windows open at night. The traffic noise is quite loud but again, it out ways the location of the house to the train station. The house is located between two vacant run down homes so at first impression, we were unsure of the safety of the place but after the first night, became more comfortable with it.
Our one mistake was leaving some boxed muffins on the kitchen counter overnight so we encountered many little ants all over in the morning - just be sure to put all food into the fridge once done eating. Bedding and towels were clean and the house gave us more room than a hotel to spread out and visit.
