Daily Bread Cottage is an inviting coastal cottage on picturesque Bay Point, ideal for a family or couple (Maximum 8 Guests). The cottage, built in 2015 on the site of one of the original Bay Pt. cottages, is modern with vintage charm. It boasts a stunning master bedroom with a unique cupola and balcony waterview. The cottage's setting provides scenic views of historic Fort Popham, Popham Beach, and the unfolding of the Kennebec River into the Atlantic Ocean. Cottage features:

• Four bedrooms (sleeps maximum 8), 3 full baths
• First floor has bedroom with two twin beds, and full bath
with tub/shower across the hall
• Second floor master bedroom with king size bed, unique cupola,
and balcony overlooking the water
• Second floor also boasts two additional bedrooms (one with 1 full,
and other with 2 twin roll-aways) as well as 2 full family bathrooms
• Back porch with view of Fort Popham and nearby island with sand
bar
• Patio with a gas grill and outdoor eating area in front of the cottage
• Cast iron Jotul stove with fireplace view of gas logs
• Electric baseboard heat throughout

We had THE BEST time!

Daily Bread was a wonderful place to stay! Incredibly beautiful, had everything we needed - we only wish we could have stayed longer. Loved our visits to Reid State Park and the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens. And we also loved just playing games and being with our family. Thank you Bob & Barbara for being such wonderful hosts! We would 100% stay here again.

Amazing views, gracious hosts, wonderful stay!

Barbara and Robert's property is amazing. We had a wonderful stay here. They have truly thought of everything. The home is clean, comfortable and well-equipped. The views from both porches are stunning, and the location is quiet, convenient and beautiful. The hosts are lovely - attentive and helpful and clearly have put so much time, energy and love into this space. The neighborhood and home were perfect for our group that included small children. The only problem was we didn't want to leave!

Amazing Views and Great Attention to Detail

We loved our stay at this amazing property. The house was torn down and totally rebuilt. Everything is brand new. It’s the largest and best equipped kitchen of any vacation rental we’ve ever stayed in. They had a full on coffee station with everything you could imagine. Plenty of parking for up to 4 cars. The master bedroom room was huge and amazing with its vaulted cathedral ceilings and beautiful wood paneled ceiling. The mattresses in the master and second bed room were very comfortable. The fourth bedroom had to extra thin beds. They were narrower than a typical twin, but it was necessary to accommodate two non bunk beds. It was a small room, but they made it work with the creative setup. The Millers were gracious and accommodating host. We are planning to go back next year. You will love this place!

Bob and Barbara are your hosts. They are retired public school educators who love spending summers vacationing at Bay Point. Bob is a third generation member of a family that has owned a cottage and vacationed on Bay Point in Georgetown, Maine since the mid 1940s. Bob has been coming to Bay Point during summers for over six decades, joined by Barbara and their two daughters in more recent years. The whole family enjoys the peaceful, beautiful seacoast with all of its varied leisure activities such as boating, swimming at the beach, and of course eating lobster and ice cream!

Why they chose this property

This gem of a cottage sits on a ledge at the mouth of the Kennebec River. Daily Bread Cottage is one of the original summer colony cottages at Bay Point, located on the western shore of Georgetown Island, in mid-coast Maine between Portland and Boothbay. Georgetown Island lies on the Atlantic Ocean where the Kennebec and Sheepscot Rivers meet the sea. Daily Bread was first built in the 1890"s and in 2010 was torn completely down and rebuilt on the original cottage footprint for modern comfort, yet keeping the character of the original cottage intact. The cottage joins other Bay Point cottages owned by the same family since 1945 for their summer vacation retreats.

Making Daily Bread your vacation home will bring you and your family right to the water's edge, viewing sunsets over Fort Popham, listening to the fog horn at Sequin Island Lighthouse and the crashing surf at Popham beach.

Bob and Barbara are helping out in the family vacation rental business this summer. Bob and Barbara are very approachable and love to talk about Bay Point and its surroundings. As your hosts, Bob and Barbara will also be vacationing in Bay Point this summer and will be easily accessible to you as they will be residing at a cottage just two cottages down.
