Hello and thank you for checking out our property here in Traphill, NC! We are pleased to welcome you to our home and share what we have discovered here with you. We purchased this property in December 2021 after tiring of city life in Charlotte. We have always loved the Appalachian Mountains and we truly believe that we have settled down in a genuine slice of heaven. We look forward to hosting you and we encourage you to reach out to us with any questions or feedback you may have.

Why they chose this property

Having frequently traveled throughout the North Carolina mountains growing up, I developed a love for these hills and always dreamed that I would retire amongst them. My wife grew up on a mountain farm in the elevated regions of Ecuador - a farm that later became a beautiful resort that continues to offer a rustic and intimate experience for travelers. Her dream became to own and operate a similarly styled mountain-based accommodation. When we stumbled across the "for sale" listing for what is now Freedom Grove Lodging - so named after our deep love for this country -, we immediately recognized that our dreams did not need to wait until retirement. Now, we are working diligently to upgrade, update, and add anew to the experiences our guests have here!

What makes this property unique

This property was, at once, captivating to us as we watched deer walk through the woods from the covered back porches. There continues to be nothing more relaxing or calming than to sit quietly in the early morning hours, sipping from a hot mug of fresh coffee, and watch as the sun peeks through the trees. We hope you choose to visit us, follow our journey, and enjoy what we have to offer you. See you soon!
