The interior of this cozy 900 square foot cottage has been fully renovated and updated. Two bedrooms feature plush bedding on a king size and queen size bed, and an air mattress is available upon request if separate sleeping arrangements are needed. The kitchen is well equipped with all the necessities, along with staple items such as freshly ground coffee, a variety of tea, and spices for your culinary creations. A rustic wooden bar height dining table allows stunning sunset views from indoors, and an additional table is available for use on the 500 square foot deck for outdoor dining.
The deck is also a fantastic space to relax: enjoy a nap in the cotton hammock, or kick back with a glass of wine in one of the rocking chairs while you take in the views of gorgeous mountain ridges as the sun sets over the horizon.
If you prefer the indoors, a 55” smart TV is set up with streaming services including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Disney+. In case you are bringing work with you, an office space and reading area is set up in its own room to allow a quiet space to read, work, or relax. The cozy wicker egg chair with its mountain backdrop is the best spot to take those important zoom calls! Fast and consistent Wi-Fi is available throughout the home.
***Driving and weather – IMPORTANT***: The road and driveway are fairly steep, which is not at all unusual for homes in this area. The road is paved, and is not challenging under normal conditions, but it is not state maintained and may become impassable in severe winter weather such as ice or snow. Local residents often choose to park near the state maintained road and walk to their homes if winter weather is expected. The home is approximately a (steep) quarter mile from the state maintained road. The private road to the home may take a long time to be cleared, if it is cleared at all, following winter storms. A four wheel drive vehicle with traction aides (snow tires or chains), along with a driver who has significant experience driving on snow and ice, would be the absolute minimum recommended to navigate to and from the home in winter weather. Rock salt is available at the home for the parking area and steps if needed.
Parking: The driveway to the home provides access to a small parking area (which currently accommodates 1 vehicle, lower flat driveway area can be utilized for additional parking). Steps lead from the parking area to the entrance and deck. The door and parking area are lit by flood lights, and a Ring doorbell will allow you to reach your host if you have any access challenges. Please exercise caution when turning around or reversing out. Trailers or large vehicles may be too large to turn around in the upper parking area, and should be parked at the base of the hill just below the upper parking area.

We had a wonderful stay! It was perfect for myself, my husband, and our 4 year old daughter. They had everything we needed and I liked that we were close to town and lots to do around!
This is a modest house with great mountain views, a very workable kitchen, comfy beds, and clean clean clean. Quiet neighborhood without road noise. A half hour to several wonderful hikes; 10 minutes to Boone which is a funky mountain college town with good grocery stores and a couple of nice restaurants.
The house interior has been recently updated in modest but perfectly fine ways; the deck and furniture needs some work, but nothing you can't work around. Comfortable and cozy for our family of three - just what the doctor ordered after a hard-working spring. We'll be back.

Why they chose this property
While only short distance from downtown Boone and all major attractions, the neighborhood is extremely serene and peaceful. You may see deer or turkeys passing by on the mountain, you can watch a sky full of stars and, of course, the unforgettable sunset.
What makes this property unique
You will never have to worry about bringing your own shampoo, coffee, salt or essentials of that nature. My cottage is fully equipped for a relaxing stay, because that's what vacations are for!
