Welcome to the Vermont country home of your dreams! Enjoy breathtaking mountain views from this renovated custom farmhouse. The home sits on a peaceful 17 acres featuring a large private pond. Fenced area in yard for dogs. 4 season activities! Near multiple ski resorts, snowmobile (VAST trail direct access across the street), snowshoe, X-country ski, sledding, hiking & biking, walking trails adjacent to property, orchard for apple and pumpkin picking right down the street. Huge outdoor entertaining deck w/180 degree mountain views, screened porch, steam shower, 2 laundry areas, gourmet kitchen, expansive family room, garage, 2 gas fireplaces, cell service, fast Wifi, office, 5 full baths.

This spacious home has 4,650 square feet of living area. The huge great room is fabulous for family and friends to enjoy time together and contains an open family room, kitchen, and dining area. There is plenty of seating available (10 at the dining table, 4 at the counter, a large sectional sofa and 2 wing chairs). The appliances are stainless steel with a new 36" commercial range, two dishwashers, 2 sinks, and a fridge with filtered water and ice. The kitchen has everything you would need for your stay including both drip and Keurig style coffee machines. The great room has a new large stone gas fireplace and a Smart television with streaming service and live YouTube TV. There is an office on the first floor with a desk space, fast WIFI, and new Vermont Castings gas fireplace. There is a booster in the home for cell service (there is no home phone). There is a Queen bedroom on the first floor with an adjacent full bath with walk-in shower. The remaining three bedrooms (king, queen, 2 twins) are on the second floor, all with en-suite baths. The primary bedroom features a walk-in steam shower. There is a finished basement with another full bath with shower and a fun electronic arcade basketball game and board games. An attached garage with parking for two standard cars is available for use. If you need parking for snowmobiles etc., we can arrange use of an outbuilding as well. *Please note, there are several stairs on each floor of the home.

Perfect place for a trip that was 15 years in the making

What a lovely home. You can feel the warmth and hospitality as soon as you enter. Large family room and beautiful views of the on property pond and the mountains in the distance. Extremely easy to contact the Property Manager and easy "in and out" procedures. This home is not located in a heavy tourist district. You will need to enjoy your own company and drive to interesting and picturesque towns. Peaceful and perfect.

The host communicated promptly and with understanding. The house was immaculate. We didn't bring pets, but the property was definitely pet friendly, including large dog crates and water bowls. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies, and the house was spacious. But my favorite part was the property, there is nothing like waking up and watching the sun brighten the mountains while still lying in bed. Then at sunset, you can watch the sky over the mountains change into a rainbow of colors.

Short weekend with dogs.

The booking process was very easy. I had a question prior to book and Shelia was quick to respond. The home is perfect for families. It is spacious, but has such a cozy feel. We brought our dogs and the fenced in area is very large and easy to access. The area is quiet and beautiful! We would definitely return for another stay.

For the second year in a row, we enjoyed our stay at this lovely, spacious house in Cabot, VT. We especially appreciated the great view of the mountains and the fabulous sunsets from the large deck. And our Australian labradoodle also very much liked her lookout post on the deck, as well as the large fenced-in area where she could run. The kitchen is especially well-appointed, with a large stove and two dishwashers. There is a second sink as well, though this year it seemed not to work.

Winter Wonderland!

Our party of 6 (3 couples) had a wonderful cozy stay and were lucky enough to get lots of snow during our visit. The radiant heat throughout the house was amazing. The open floor plan in the kitchen/dining room/living room was perfect for our needs. We hope to return soon!

Winter Getaway

We had a wonderful time exploring nearby towns and sledding down the best backyard hill for sledding our son has ever had the pleasure of sledding. Perfect place for a little winter getaway. And I’d bet it’s even more gorgeous in summer.

Amazing home, beautiful location

We rented the house for a weekend while visiting friends in Cabot. Pictures don’t do it justice - the home is enormous and incredibly well-appointed. Everything is high-end, sparkling clean and lovely. Communication was excellent and the host even provided a welcome snack and bottle of local maple syrup. We’d love to visit again.

We stayed here over the Christmas holiday and had a wonderful time. The house was very comfortable and there's plenty of room for everyone. The holiday decorations were such a nice touch! The house has everything you need for a great vacation - lots of space, a bathroom for each bedroom, fireplace, radiant heat and gorgeous views.Even though we visited during a cold snap with awesome snow, we still had a blast playing outside with our dog and just enjoying the quiet.Excellent communication, great stay, love the location and we're planning to return!

Great week in Cabot Vermont

My family had a fabulous week at the beautiful farm in Cabot. The house is very spacious and well supplied. We appreciated the en-suite bathrooms, the two dishwashers, and the large stove and refrigerator. Plenty of dishware and cooking utensils. Having the large fenced-in area for our dogs was also great. We hope to come back next year.

I'll stay for Labor Day weekend 2025 was fantastic! The views are just absolutely gorgeous! There was enough space for my 9-year old, My tweenager, and a full-blown teenager from my friend's family to both interact and to find their own quiet spaces when they needed to. The house is never cold even though the overnights drop down to 48. The house is dog friendly, though we did not bring ours this trip. They have a cell phone signal booster, so you get reliable service in the house, no matter what is your mobile service provider. But for Cabot Village, just down the road, if you don't have AT&T, you are going to be sore out of luck in actual town. So watch out for that.My family enjoyed it. My friends enjoyed it immensely. Whenever we venture back into Vermont, we'll be staying here again!

Thanksgiving gathering

We needed a big house near Danville for our family/friends Thanksgiving gathering. This place worked perfectly! Great kitchen for meal prep, wonderful open plan layout for hanging out. The hosts were so helpful and gracious, putting up the Christmas tree and leaving gifts for the kids. The kids loved all the games too! Nice walks around the pond and to the covered bridge. Very comfortable beds. Highly recommended!

It doesn't get any better

We rented this property from July 1, 2023 to September 15, 2023. Coming from Florida, one can imagine how refreshing the cool mornings and pleasant daytime temperatures were. The home itself is large and well appointed. Just prior to our arrival, our Host installed a new professional gas oven. It was a pleasure to use. Actually, most of the furniture appears to be relatively new, and very comfortable. We cannot speak highly enough of our Host. She responded to every little issue we had. It's rare to meet someone as attentive and so genuinely nice. Our only regret is we didn't stay longer. The leaves are just beginning to turn and the foliage season in Vermont is truly spectacular! Sleepy Hollow Farmhouse is truly a magical place. The property is beautiful- a large deck with a beautiful view for watching the sunsets and admiring the stars in the night sky, beautiful flowers and apple trees along with rolling hills and a fenced in yard where our doodle loved to run and play fetch. There is a pond down below, which we would walk down and sit by in the evening. The open floor plan of the house lended itself to an area where we as a family gathered, watched movies on a rainy day, snuggled by the fireplace. We baked cookies (that oven is fantastic for baking), cooked dinners, toasted smores, made crafts, and that doesn’t even include the fun we had when we left the house for day trips. Sheila was very responsive and was available if we had any concerns. Fortunately, we had a seamless stay and did not have any issues at the house. She even left us some Vermont goodies like syrup, pancake mix, Cabot cheese and crackers, and even a Lambie toy for our Goldendoodle, which she loved! It is very quiet at night, so you will certainly get a peaceful sleep! Each room has a fan or a portable ac unit, but we only needed that one night, as the nights are cool and comfortable. I honestly could live at this property. That’s how peaceful it is. This is our first morning back home, and we are already missing Vermont, especially Sleepy Hollow Farmhouse. I’m sure it looks beautiful during the holiday season. We hope to return one day soon.

Why they chose this property

This location has one of the most acclaimed mountain and sunset views in Vermont. People come from the surrounding area to watch the sunset from the top of the hill at the covered bridge. However, you can enjoy this same view right from our expansive deck, with rolling meadows and our private swimming pond in the forefront. The home has been lovingly decorated to create a gracious, but comfortable experience. For history buffs, the home is adjacent to Bailey Hazen Road, which was commissioned as a military road by George Washington in 1776 and has quite a history. This section of the road is one of the last original portions remaining and is used as part of the VAST snowmobile network.

What makes this property unique

When we told a resident of Cabot that we lived in Cabot Plains, he remarked that "we live in heaven." That is truly what it feels like here. We welcome you to experience our version of Vermont heaven!
