Our cabin is a quiet, low-key space to enjoy a quintessential Maine vacation. Enjoy the private waterfront with large dock for swimming, sunbathing or fishing. Relax on the large shady deck with grill and views of beautiful Minnehonk Lake. Walk to visit lakeside Scapes Cafe or take the twenty-minute car ride into Farmington or Hallowell. When you get back, light a fire in the fire pit and make some smores before falling asleep to the sounds of the pair of lake Loons.
The cabin is a three-season, lake front cabin on a dead-end street in the village of Mount Vernon, Maine. A morning walk is certain to cross your path with some of the friendly seasonal and full-time residents. 20 minutes to Farmington, 20 minutes to Hallowell, charming Maine towns in every direction.
The cabin has one enclosed upstairs bedroom with two twin beds and a sleeping space on the main floor with a queen bed. There is a loft with a double bed, which has ladder to access. The kitchen is stocked with all the necessary items; cookware, plates, silverware, spices, toaster, blender and coffee maker.
Tap water is lake drawn, so a drinking/cooking water dispenser is installed at the kitchen sink.
This is a low-key, RUSTIC camp and we are looking to share it with laid-back, easy-going guests.

If you are looking for the Maine cabin lakeside experience this is a great choice. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The weather was a bit wet, hot and humid during our stay. The cabin is not air conditioned but the large ceiling fan in the living area cooled it down. Annie has provided several fans for the other areas of the the cabin. The kitchen is well equipped. There are plenty of towels for both showering and swimming. If you use a hair dryer you will need to bring one with you. The lake itself is clean and clear. There is a lovely dock to sit on and watch the Loons. We used the kayak that was available and enjoyed paddling around the lake and swimming in the lake. Overall we enjoyed our time at the cabin.
We had a wonderful time in this chalet! Excellent communication with the owner who patiently answered all my questions. I was looking for a quiet place, in the forest, with a view and a very quick access to a small lake, and this is exactly what we got. The lake water was perfect for swimming, and we really enjoyed the 2 boards and kayak. The cottage is very cute, comfortable and well equipped. From the moment we arrived we felt like we were on vacation. There is also a very nice firepit to get together in the evening and eat marshmallows. It is a very beautiful place where time stands still. Note that a road passes on the other side of the lake, and we hear the cars passing by, but frankly it didn't harm our peace of mind at all. I recommend this place for all those who wish to unplug and recharge their batteries.
This is a lovely camp -- very open with vaulted ceiling and loft spaces. Everything was very clean and and comfortable. Annie had so many thoughtful touches in place -- motion sensor stair lights, chilled glasses, outdoor lights by the campfire area, etc. The beds are comfortable with beautiful afghans and quality pillows. Plenty of towels. Even a set of spices. Outdoor, there were 2 paddle boards, a kayak and a floating pad tethered to the dock to make the most of the lake setting. A family of owls visited the back yard as a well as a hummingbird and a few other birds. Chipmunks and red squirrels were frequent visitors. The dock area has lake views towards the town and picturesque church steeple. Very pretty!
