Cala Millor in February

Whilst the town itself is hibernating in February, I enjoyed the lack of masses of people. The apartment was perfekt for my stay. Kitchen had everything I needed, heating and shower worked nicely and grocery shopping is around the corner. Apartment was nicely decorated and the lights provided a cozy feeling. The view is spectacular!! Even from the bed. And it was very quiet as well. Me happy 😀!

Having stayed in many holiday apartments over the years, we've tried to make this review as balanced and factual as possible. The apartment is in a good location at the quieter end of Cala Millor, with lovely sea views from the balcony. It was clean and the air con worked well. There are several nearby restaurants, most catering for tourists. We particularly enjoyed Bonanza for a more local feel and Es Mollet in Cala Bona for excellent food and service. It would have been helpful if the apartment info and instruction manual had been available in English, as opposed to German only. The bed was extremely firm and uncomfortable for us. We also asked for extra pillows but didn't receive a helpful response. On our first day there was no hot water. We reported it but were initially told to run the tap longer. After reporting it again, it was only acknowledged once other guests confirmed they had the same problem. Our disappointment wasn't the lack of hot water itself, but the way our concerns were handled.Guests with reduced mobility should note that the nearest beach is rocky; the nearest sandy beach is about a 10-minute walk away. During late June, sunbeds were scarce and public toilets were limited. It is a beautiful beach though.Overall, the apartment has many positives, but we found communication difficult at times. We felt that whenever we raised a genuine concern, it was met defensively rather than constructively, which affected our overall experience.

Great Apartment. Poor Communication by Host

Positives; Nice Apartment, quiet location, near the beach, nice resort, clean, good internet. We had to ring Thomas on arrival, messaging would have been easier and cheaper. It was late when we arrived and there were no provisions in the apartment, water would have been nice as we were tired and dehydrated. The next morning he arrived to take the fee due on arrival. We didn’t get a receipt for this which I find odd. I reported the air-con failed on Saturday and the shower was leaking. They were repaired Monday but communication was poor with Thomas not responding to messages. I rang him. He was in Germany but promised to come to see us 9:30am Monday. He did not arrive so we left at 10am. He never explained why he didn’t keep his appointment. I was annoyed he hadn’t contacted us and I decided to ask for €120 compensation for the 3 days the air con was broken. I did this to see if communication would improve. It did but Thomas became argumentative. He accused me of lying! Thomas informed us that the air-con is the responsibility of the apartment block and not in his control. I understand this and if he had visited us as promised I would have been ok. Thomas is not professional in the way he deals with complaints. When you press him he gets belligerent. He completely refused any compensation. I think Thomas should put some instructions in English in the apartment to make his U.K. guests feel more welcome.

Wahnsinns Ausblick
