Come relax and unwind in a tranquil cabin in the trees. Located just a mile from downtown Guerneville near the idyllic Russian River, this charming hillside cottage is perfect for a romantic retreat, an outdoor adventure, or working on that novel you've been meaning to write. You truly feel away from it all in this peaceful setting with stunning forest views. Simple vintage furnishings and a lack of distracting technological amenities allow you to enjoy the quiet curled up on the couch in front of a fire or lounging on the spacious, private deck with outdoor shower. Take a short stroll to the neighborhood river access beach, or explore the many wineries, restaurants, hiking trails and antique shops in the surrounding area.
Built in the 1930s as a summer getaway, the cabin was beautifully crafted from local redwood trees with a number of delightful details that make it unique. The lower level has a cozy bedroom with a built-in full size bed. The bathroom has a tiled floor and a redwood shower. Exit the lower level to go up the stairs to the upper level, which has a spacious open living, dining and kitchen area. The living area has a convertible sofa bed in front of a wood stove. Sit on the stool at the bar while your loved one prepares a meal in the kitchen equipped with refrigerator, stove, oven, utensils, and essential condiments. Enjoy your meal at the dining room table while looking out over the trees from the giant picture windows.
****PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING**** Please read this description thoroughly, as well as traveler reviews, to ensure our cabin is the right fit for your traveling style and expectations. This is a homey, unpolished cabin in the woods. Those who love peace and quiet and rustic getaways from modernity LOVE our place, don't mind the stair workout to get there, and keep coming back. Please read on for important things of note:
Kids and pets are welcome at your own risk as there are no child safe railings along the stairs on the path and no completely fenced-in area for dogs. The cabin is on a quarter-acre of wooded land on a hill. There are about 85 steps from the parking area to the cabin, so it is definitely not wheelchair accessible and may be difficult for the elderly or those with knee problems. The privacy on the hill is worth the trek!
Due to its lack of central heating and insulation, the Treehouse will not be available for rent in December, January, or February.

Why they chose this property
We fell in love with this cabin the moment we saw it. It is absolutely charming and we feel removed from the stresses of the world while we are there, yet we can head out and be at any number of amazing restaurants in minutes. With the Russian River just a short walk away, the beautiful coast a mere 15 minute drive, and the amazing unpretentious plethora of wineries nearby, this location has all the best Sonoma County has to offer. We have traveled extensively, and we feel it is truly one of the best locations in the world.
What makes this property unique
We have intentionally kept our cabin as simple as possible. While we are there, we don't want the distractions of television or the internet. Other places may offer more amenities, but our peaceful place is perfect for reconnecting with nature and one another or just enjoying a good book in silence. Plus, there aren't too many places private enough that you can enjoy a shower in the outdoors under the redwoods.
