Our family was so lucky to call this beautiful place home for the week! This home is very quiet and peaceful. There is room for the whole family to relax and enjoy themselves. The beds were extremely comfortable. We all slept so well!
The breathtaking views and hiking trails close by were wonderful. The house is close enough to enjoy local activities such as the Ben and Jerry’s factory and the Vermont State capital. Our family truly enjoyed our time here. Thank you for sharing this space with us! We hope to come back again soon.
I'll try not to be too wordy...
I lost my big brother two months ago after he was ill for a long time. I love Vermont and getting away there is my escape. I also love to ski. This place is just a phenomenal spot to heal and recharge. The house feels brand new, modern, and extremely comfortable. Calm, muted colors and beautiful art and photos are all around. Just lovely. I woke early every day because the sunrise over the mountains was just incredible. This house feels like it's in the clouds.
I skied at Sugarbush a bit, and it's just a 40 minute drive over the Roxbury Gap. I would advise anyone coming in winter to pay attention to the fact that mountain dirt road make for some really challenging driving. Don't even think of coming in the winter and early spring without good snow tires, and 4wd. Definitely the Vermont country experience.
I would also add that if you do come, make sure to bring everything you need to cook your meals. There isn't a close (10 minutes) store nearby to "grab and run" so just prepare in advance. Also, if you come in winter...be prepared for being snowed in. This place gets dumped on!
Thanks Crystal (the manager), and to the owner for such a magnificent place to enjoy.
It was truly an honor to be one of the first guests to rent this home. When I first discovered it on VRBO & saw no reviews, I thought, "This must be too good to be true..." But it looked so amazing, I took a shot and it was well worth it!
Our group consisted of 3 couples (a 4th couple got sick & unfortunately had to miss out). Every couple got a beautiful bedroom with en suite bathroom.
Speaking of bathrooms... HOLY! Every single person took at least one shower or bath because the set-ups were unbelievably luxurious. And they were all outfitted with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, which was a plus!
As a group, we decided we would stay in as much as possible & brought enough food to cook over our stay. If you love to cook, this is the kitchen for you! Beautiful, high-end gas-top stove, TWO dishwashers & TWO sinks, tons of auxiliary appliances like a blender, k-cup brewer, & traditional drip brewer stored away in the cabinets. We were pleasantly surprised how many pots/pans they had! We brought some of our own, but didn't need anything that wasn't already stocked. Though we were very happy that we brought our own seasonings/cooking oils, as that is not provided. However, the owner left us a lovely gift & note in the fridge, which was a lovely touch! All the decor throughout the home seemed thoughtfully curated, as well.
There is a built-in sound system on the main floor that you could hear very well on the lower level, too. It took a little finessing to get it on, but once it was going, it added a wonderful ambiance to the space. We didn't really use the tvs, as listening to music was better suited for our group. Both the main & lower level had fantastic couch set-ups, great for group conversations. The pool & poker tables downstairs were definitely utilized!
The location is unreal, the pics are very accurate! It was unseasonably warm during our stay, so the roads leading to the home were muddy & a bit treacherous. Locals seemed to have no issue, but even in our AWD SUV, we were sliding a bit. Because it was so nice out, we got to spend some time outdoors on the property, but refrained from exploring the state park.
A note about that: while we had no immediate neighbors, there were definitely people hiking throughout the area, so at times you'd be surprised to hear voices coming from the woods. But it was otherwise secluded!
Truly an amazing experience, the best place most of us had ever been! 10/10
