You are paying for the views which were fantastic! I wanted water/mountain views, it didn’t disappoint. The Adirondacks are absolutely spectacular! We hit at just about peak.
The property was absolutely beautiful. We had everything we wanted: a great place to stay, by a beautiful lake, with good hiking nearby. Very quiet, very clean, very nice.
Perfect place for few quiet days on lake with family
Great space for family. Lake is beautiful. Spent lots of time swimming, canoeing and sitting on the dock. Clean house, comfortable beds. Great communication with host.
We based our stay here. It was wonderful. We hiked, whitewater rafted, fly fished and even flew in a WWII B-17 bomber. This was our retreat to listen to the loons and the waves lapping on the shore.
We loved the location and the house . Best summer swimming . Neighbors gave us a fabulous fireworks show for the 4th of July . Nice distance to great hikes and Lake Placid .
We loved our time in this waterfront cabin. The family feel of the place is pretty special and we appreciated the quiet surroundings. The kitchen is ready for most anything, the beds are comfortable. Note that the bathroom is on the first floor, but navigating to it through the night wasn’t too hard. If you are wanting to explore the area, this cabin is in a great location - nearby to Whiteface, Lake Placid, and Ausable Chasm.
My husband and I had an amazing stay. The lake was great for swimming or canoeing. It was BEAUTIFUL! The host was amazing. It was clean and very peaceful next to the water. I would highly recommend this property. We would definitely stay again!

Shelena, we are so glad you and your husband enjoyed the cabin and the peacefulness of the lake and woods (hopefully you heard the loons). You were wonderful guests; thank you for treating our property with such care.

We were looking for someplace to relax and unwind. This place fit out needs perfectly. The lake was beautiful as was the scenery with clouds scuttling across the sky. The view of the stars at night went on forever.
We really enjoyed out stay in this special little cottage!
We had a great stay at this cute little A-frame cabin. It's rustic but clean and has everything you need. The kitchen appears to be recently updated and was easy to cook in. The owners are helpful and responsive if you need anything. The lake... what can we say about the lake? We LOVED the lake! Fern Lake is pristine - great for swimming and boating, or just sitting and listening to the loons. Sunsets are gorgeous. We brought our kayaks and were out on the lake every day during our stay. The location of the cabin is great - not far from nearby towns and hamlets if you need anything, and close enough to neighbors so you don't feel isolated, but it's very very quiet and relaxing.
Neighbors were very nice! Not too close. Everyone we came in contact with were very friendly. House was clean and was perfect for the long weekend. Would highly recommend!
My wife and I were looking for some time to just relax, and we found it! Read a book and swam in the lake! It was a beautiful spot! We did some sight seeing and visited local restaurants. It was a great cottage with everything we needed!
Thanks to Rachel and Chris! Nice spot!

My friends and I had a lovely time staying at the cabin on Fern Lake. We had a few cold, rainy days and had no trouble relaxing inside until the weather improved. When the sun was out we enjoyed the easy, private access to the lake and canoe. The house is not fancy, but had everything we needed.
The cabin was perfect for me, my husband and brother. The online pictures don’t do this cabin justice. We had a beautiful sunset every night that we watched from the dock. Sitting outside on the porch having our coffee in the morning and our wine at night was one of the highlights of the trip. It was so peaceful and the view of the lake was amazing. I’m looking forward to returning next year.
My wife & I visited the Adirondacks & loved our stay at this cabin. Great Location. Stocked well with what you need too. Bed in master was super comfortable. Whole place was nicely updated. Dining room table was situated to look out onto the lake. Very Nice. Wish we could have stayed longer and will definitely stay here again when we visit this area next.
Beautiful remote ADK cabin on Fern Lake. Check in process was very easy. Chris and Rachel were wonderful hosts, they ensured we had everything we needed and their prompt communication made our experience seamless. Cabin was as described. Extremely clean. Having access to filtered water was a bonus! Beautiful porch with lots of seating. Dock offered great views of the lake with sandy area to launch canoes. Location fantastic, offering easy access to the lake. Will definitely be back!
One of the nicest spots on the lake; it was shaded, the water was pristine, and sunset views were beautiful. Swimming was especially good on weekdays when we didn't have to contend with the motorboats and jet-skis. The house itself was lovely and clean. Chris was responsive to all email/text requests. Neighbors were hospitable and friendly. We biked around the lake, visited Ausable Chasm, Whiteface Mountain, and the nearby towns of Jay and Wilmington. Two recommendations: 1.the stairs were quite challenging in the middle of the night, so a stairwell nightlight would be helpful. 2. we arrived during an atypical heat wave and the three fans didn't quite do the job. Other than that, our stay was peaceful and relaxing.
It felt like we were part of the family. Very comfortable with all the amenities clean and in working order. Heard Loons calling both in the morning and evening. Easy lake access. Nice ventilation when screened doors were open. A welcome folder described everything that was needed to know with a handwritten addendum on particulars. BTW wonderful recommendation on the deli !!!
A place to escape the hustle of everyday life, this little gem offered everything we we're looking for during our vacation. Our family enjoyed stunning views of the Adirondack Mountain and gorgeous sunsets from the dock. Private lake access to beautiful Fern Lake where we fell asleep and woke to the call of the loons. Even on rainy days, this place was beautiful. The cabin was comfy with modern updates that made you feel at home. A huge thank you to our host Chris who was amazing. We hope to return next year.
We did enjoy our stay--loved the dock and watching the lake even tho the first few days were a little too cool and wet to be out much. The main floor is beautiful and the view is amazing. The only downside was the middle of the night bathroom trips which meant going downstairs but all in all it is a wonderful stay. Enjoyed all the photos and memorabilia. It might be nice to have a little history written up to explain the pictures and the background of the cabin. We assumed that it had been in the family for many years and was getting a makeover which made it even more special.
The moment you walk through the door, it just feels like home! Perfect size for a couple’s getaway or a small family! Great setting on the lake, with a small dock. I fished and even caught a small Bass, while my wife read. Enjoyed my morning coffee on the deck while watching some early morning lake activities ( water-skiers fisherman etc.) Grilled lunch/ dinner and enjoyed it with the lake in the background. Woke up in the morning to the lake from the upstairs deck outside my bedroom. Various lawn games are also provided as well as board games. Love to read but forgot your book, not to worry, many options are available. And of course, there’s WiFi, so you can stay connected if you need to. Lake Placid, Whiteface Mtn., the Ausable Brewery as well as other attractions are not to far away. Definitely will go back in the future!
Very quite lake with light boat traffic. We brought our 11 year old granddaughter and did all of the ADK attractions. We managed to dock our old 19 ft bowrider at the property dock with a little creativity. The house / lake combination was very nice. At 64 I get up twice a night to use the restroom, so it was a little inconvenient to walk down the stairs with my eyes half open to use the bathroom.
This was our first visit to the area, and we loved it.
