The positives: The house is located right outside Blackwater Falls State Park. It is withing walking distance to downtown Davis. The house was clean and had everything that we needed for our stay. I think it is well decorated and has some charm.
The negatives: The house needs a lot of work. I understand it is old, but it needs some updates to be rentable in my opinion. The stairs in particular do not appear safe. The hand rail moves and is missing a rail in one place. There is a crack on one of the stairs. The refrigerator door handle is broken off. The kitchen cabinet handles come off. There are missing floor boards that are covered with other pieces of wood and rugs placed over. The bath tub is corroded.
I think this can be a charming old house to stay in if it undergoes some TLC.
We had a great stay here. Kids loved the cute little loft, beds were comfy and the location was fabulous. Kitchen has everything you need. Easy communication with the host. Would highly recommend if you are staying in Davis!
We stayed at the house for my son’s wedding weekend at Balckwater Falls. The house has such wonderful character and is in a quiet and safe location. The house was clean and fully equipped. It was such a treat to be able to have my son’s dogs stay with us! My only suggestion for the listing would be to disclose that the house has only one shower and to disclose the 3rd bedroom configuration. Neither of these things were an issue for us, but I feel like it would be helpful to those reviewing the listing. Thanks for a great mountain visit.
The house was close to local restaurants and ski rental places, perfect for our trip to Timberline Mountain. It was comfortable, quaint, had everything we needed!
