Fabulous. Host was great, so helpful. Location was wonderful. Second time I stayed here. Loved seeing the deer in the yard. This cottage has everything you need for your stay.
It's a diamond in the rough. Wonderful environment. I loved the handicapped feature. The host responded timely with issues. The deer in the yard a bonus. Close to everything. Well equipped and had everything we needed. We felt very at home. A good value and I would come again.
This house surpassed my hopes and expectations. We shared a cozy, comfortable, lovely time as a family even in the midst of heavy storms and power outages. We were well taken care of while also having our privacy respected and the house had everything we needed. It was clean and well cared for, and the surrounding property is absolutely gorgeous and also well cared for. We would definitely stay here again.
We had a wonderful time in this lovely, comfortable cottage. The host was thoughtful and even provided a birthday cupcake upon arrival for one of our family members whose birthday occurred during our stay! The bed and futon were comfortable, the kitchen nicely equipped with everything we needed to make meals, and the location was secluded yet very close to Fort Bragg and the many beaches and parks in the area. Highly recommend!
The cottage is so very clean. Every room is comfortable and nicely decorated. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare a meal and all the dishes and utensils to serve on. The cottage is stocked with coffee, teas, and creamers. Christine is amazing, you need anything she is quick to respond. The cottage is located in the redwoods and the property is beautiful. My husband and I will always book our stay here.
Our stay was amazing, it was clean, so quiet and close to town! The host even made us cookies and left them on the doorstep on our 2nd night. Amazing!!!!
Wow! Clean cozy comfortable. This place was perfect. Close to town. Close to beach and forest. Host had everything just right in this place. Notes on everything you needed to know about. My wife, granddaughter, and i had a great stay. Deer in the back yard was exciting. Definitely coming back.
This cottage is so wonderful with lots of space, beautiful surrounding forest, everything in the kitchen you could possible want, very close to Fort Bragg, short distance to Mendocino, and I really liked the 3 deer that came to see me off when I was getting ready to leave. Christine, the host, was so great. This is the best VRBO I have stayed in.
The cottage is very pleasant, clean and well-organized. Christine has thought of everything including a binder to help you plan your stay. It is decorated very tastefully, not garage sale furniture. We will return to this cottage.
They were very accommodating and the little treats and stickers were really appreciated. Super nice little house on the main houses property to rent. Great for small family. Our son loved it
Highly recommend! (Just don't book this place when I want to go back. . .) This little cabin is perfect for 1- 3 people (best for 2); it's spacious and incredibly thoughtful -- virtually everything you might ever need is here, right down to the medicine cabinet and a desk with computer and printer. The layout is private and very comfortable. I actually chose this place specifically because it has two comfortable reclining reading chairs (a rarity in many rentals that only offer spongy couches and armchairs.) I didn't try the futon bed, so can't speak to that, but the bedroom mattress was lovely. The kitchen is well appointed. The other excellent aspect of this rental is the location -- I've stayed in this area for decades, and Fort Bragg is the best place for your base camp. The house is very easy to find, right off Hwy. 20 and only a mile from town. You can be in Mendocino in 15 minutes or on the Noyo Bluffs walking trail in less than 10. I spent 3 nights here and never had to travel more than 15 miles in either direction to be thoroughly entertained.
The place is well appointed with everything we needed. The host was super responsive and friendly.
Nice location tucked into the trees but a quick jaunt to Fort Bragg for anything you need.
Not sure if it was a common thing but a cute family of 5 deer hung out in the large yard for a few hours each day we were there.
We loved staying at the Cottage Hide-away and hope to return. Place was very comfortable, kitchen was well stocked (including spices, a few condiments, and some snacks and drinks), and the location was just minutes away from everything we wanted to do in Fort Bragg. Christine responded quickly when we had a question. Beautiful, peaceful setting in the Redwoods.
Christine and Cindi have thought of everything. The cottage is decorated very tastefully and they have notes posted giving you information for everything. They have created a binder with maps, menus and other information about the Fort Bragg, Mendocino area. It is the second time I have rented the cottage. It will not be the last.
Our family stayed at this well-stocked home while we explored Mendocino and Ft Bragg, specifically The Skunk Train. The host has thought of everything you could possibly need during a stay. It turned out the Queen bed was just too small for us (our fault) so sleep was rough, but my toddler loved sleeping on the futon!
Christine and Cindi are incredible hosts! My husband and I had a wonderful time celebrating our 10-year anniversary at their charming cottage. We were warmly welcomed with a delicious cupcake and a heartfelt, personalized card expressing their best wishes for our special day. The cottage was spacious and well-maintained, featuring a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, and laundry room with all the essentials. The property was beautifully landscaped, with a serene meadow and a canopy of trees providing a peaceful ambiance. A handy binder provided us with a list of local restaurants and activities, making our stay even more enjoyable. We highly recommend renting their cottage.
We had a wonderful time at this rental. Christine’s delightful touches were evident everywhere and the house met all our needs. My husband slept better here than he does at home; of course we were on vacation. The location was perfect, close to town but far enough away so that it was really quiet. This was my husband’s first experience with a rental home and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Hopefully we can do a return trip sometime.
Very private and quiet. Lots of natural light from skylights and big windows looking out at the surrounding meadow and redwood trees. Appliances, floors, windows, etc. were spotless. Great parking in front and easy access to town when needed. This is a well-maintained and run property that deserves 10 stars.
