The Space:

Morning light filters through the dome as mist drifts across the mountains, and the night sky unfurls a blanket of stars overhead. The quiet of the woods invites you to slow down, sink into warmth, and feel completely immersed in the landscape. Whether you’re soaking in the hot tub after a day of adventure or curled up indoors with the view beyond the windows, the rhythm here is unhurried and grounding.

Sleeping Arrangements

The dome offers a single king‑size bed with a heated mattress topper, ensuring restful nights even on cooler evenings. The open layout lets the sleeping area flow seamlessly into the living space, creating an intimate yet spacious feel.

Bathroom & Comfort

A full indoor bathroom with a shower provides a private place to freshen up, and bathroom essentials are supplied for convenience. Heating keeps the dome cozy through winter nights, while air conditioning is available for warmer days. Wi‑Fi supports streaming and video calls, and a TV offers a relaxed way to wind down after sunset.

Kitchen & Dining

A compact kitchen space lets you prepare simple meals and snacks. Brew coffee in the morning or cook an easy dinner after exploring the area, then enjoy your meal at the indoor table or on the deck while taking in the mountain views.

Outdoor Living

Step onto the private deck to soak in panoramic mountain vistas that shift with the light. The hot tub on the deck is a year‑round highlight—steam rises into the crisp air as you soak beneath the stars. A nearby fire pit creates a natural gathering spot for evenings, and the backyard blends seamlessly with the surrounding woods. Free parking and a private entrance make arrivals and departures effortless.

Setting & Surroundings

Serenity Base is nestled within a 37‑acre private nature preserve on Cooper Mountain. Two other domes sit nearby, offering occasional glimpses of fellow guests while your deck, hot tub, and fire pit remain dedicated to your stay. The natural setting means you may notice leaves, pollen, or small insects—especially during seasonal transitions—but regular cleaning keeps the space welcoming.

Exploring the Area

Within about 20 minutes you can reach hiking trails, fishing spots, hunting areas, lake swimming, and white‑water rafting. After a day in the elements, returning to the warmth of the dome feels especially rewarding.

Perfect For

Guests who cherish quiet surroundings, love the outdoors, and appreciate a glamping experience that balances comfort with nature will find Serenity Base an ideal retreat.

We loved staying here. We wanted to experience the luxe dome. It exceeded all our expectations. The bed was so comfortable and being able to look out at the night sky and the dawn while still laying there was so restful. The company was so helpful. We had an issue with the hot tub. They had a maintenance man there the next day. We received correspondence from them concerning our stay giving recommendations and asking if any problems. We were very impressed with their professionalism. We had picked this area because we wanted to do a little leaf peeping and to ride the Potomac Eagle. We plan to definitely come back. Only considerations just know there is only a small refrigerator so maybe have a cooler if have a lot of food that needs to be cold.

Dome paradise!

My husband and i shared our honeymoon here together. It was perfect! The owner was so wonderful and the place is super special. We were looking for a relaxing place to stay in the mountains and couldn't have asked for a better time.Being able to lay in bed and view the stars was so great. We were lucky enough to see the meteor shower from the hot tub. Normally when we stay at a place the grill is gross and not usable...but here it was not the case and we got to grill an amazing meal using local food. When i searched for places in the area to stay this was one of the first that popped up and it was so unique that we had to go. Thanks for an amazing stay! We will be back and many of our friends are excited to check it out, too!

I live in DC with my wife and three young kids. I love camping/hiking, drinking (and sometimes brewing) great beer and wine, exploring new restaurants and shops, and traveling all over.

Why they chose this property

We spent years searching for the perfect getaway, and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – Serenity Base in particular. We love how cute and cozy our cabin is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
