- Hot tub on deck – perfect for cool mountain evenings
- Fire pit & backyard space for starlit evenings
- Mountain views from dome and deck
- Kitchen & bathroom essentials, WiFi, TV, heating & AC

The Space:
Morning light filters through the dome as mist drifts across the mountains, and the night sky unfurls a blanket of stars above the quiet woods. The air carries a crisp, pine‑scented breeze that invites you to linger on the deck, soak in the hot tub, and let the world slow down around you. Inside, the heated mattress topper cradles you in warmth while the view of the peaks frames every moment.
Sleeping arrangements
The dome offers a single king bed, perfectly positioned for restful nights and a view of the surrounding forest. With a capacity for two guests, the space feels intimate yet spacious, and the heated mattress topper adds extra comfort during cooler evenings.
Bathroom & comfort
A full indoor bathroom includes a shower and bathroom essentials, allowing you to refresh without stepping into the cold. Heating keeps the dome cozy through winter nights, while air conditioning provides relief on warmer days. WiFi and a TV are available for streaming or video calls, and the dome’s design lets you hear the gentle rustle of the trees while staying connected.
Kitchen & dining
A compact kitchen area supplies kitchen essentials for simple meals and snacks. Brew coffee in the morning or prepare a light dinner after a day on the trails, then enjoy it on the private deck while the mountains shift with the light.
Outdoor living
Step onto the deck to take in ever‑changing mountain views. The private hot tub is a year‑round highlight—steam rises into the night air in winter, and the water feels soothing after a hike. A fire pit nearby creates a natural gathering spot for evenings under the stars, and the backyard blends seamlessly with the 37‑acre private nature preserve. Free parking and a private entrance make arrival effortless.
Setting & surroundings
Serenity Base sits within the Cooper Mountain retreat, a 37‑acre preserve with wooded trails and open spaces to explore. Two other domes are nearby—one about 60 feet away and another over 120 feet—so you may see other guests, but your deck, hot tub, and fire pit remain dedicated to your stay. Expect occasional leaves, pollen, or small insects, especially in early spring and summer, as the dome’s design welcomes the natural environment.
Perfect for…
Guests who cherish quiet, nature‑immersed getaways and appreciate a glamping experience that balances comfort with the outdoors. Whether you’re soaking in the hot tub after a day of hiking, watching the sunrise from the dome, or simply breathing in the mountain air, Serenity Base offers a grounding retreat where the rhythm of the woods sets the pace.

About the host
Hosted by Tony Cappaert
I live in DC with my wife and three young kids. I love camping/hiking, drinking (and sometimes brewing) great beer and wine, exploring new restaurants and shops, and traveling all over.
Why they chose this property
We spent years searching for the perfect getaway, and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – Serenity Base in particular. We love how cute and cozy our cabin is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
