We loved our stay at River Perch. It's recently remodeled, with plenty of space for an extended family. The kitchen is well-equipped and the setting is quiet. We really enjoyed the elevated porch, watching for wildlife and listening to the river. Check-in and check-out is very easy with keypad entry, and our host (lives nearby) was helpful and friendly.
Our German friends loved this house - the beautiful stretch of the Cacapon, the comfortable bedrooms and spacious living areas. The kitchen is well equipped and allowed them to prepare some Thanksgiving dishes as well as breakfast each day. Glenn was a terrific host and easy to communicate with throughout the stay. Thank you!
Lovely place. Kitchen was awesome, showers great, beds comfortable, location near hiking trails and on the river amazing. The front porch was an excellent place to relax. We loved it!
This property was the most wonderful “home-away-from-home.” The interior was flawlessly clean, welcoming, and had all the amenities and necessities a family (with two kids and two dogs) could need! The owners of the River Perch on the Cacapon were gracious hosts and went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. We truly felt comfortable and relaxed the whole time.
We had a wonderful 5-day getaway at the River Perch! The three kids spent hours on the river each day, we went tubing and kayaking, we got to see our dog enjoy her first real swims, and then we got to relax in the very cozy, very clean house with the beautiful front porch view of the Cacapon. Glenn made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay and was incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Highly recommend this spot for a trip away!
The visit was amazing! Although we had high expectations based on previous reviews, we were not disappointed. The house is very modern and spacious. The deck and the view of the river can't be beat and we wouldn't change a thing. We also got to meet Glenn who was incredibly responsive. We'll definitely be back with more family.
The only thing that would make this property better would be a hot tub. The property was clean and comfortable. Great place situated right on the river.
We loved the property. It was roomy and offered all we needed to enjoy our two nights there. The home was cute and clean. It was easy to find even in the dark. Gps was accurate. Host kept in touch with us.
Simply put, this property is amazing! The scenery and surroundings are so tranquil and beautiful. My family and I enjoyed making s'mores at the fire pit, while listening to the river. We also enjoyed tubing and fishing the river as well. The house itself is well equipped and has all the modern amenities you could want or need. The host is easily one of the best hosts I've had in all of my travels and vacations. He is extremely attentive and responsive and gives great advice and recommendations on what to do in the local surroundings. We loved every aspect of our vacation at this beautiful location and we plan on making it a yearly trip!
The best word to describe our experience would be perfection. Amazing location, beautifully renovated and clean home, very friendly and helpful host. We will definitely be back.
We had a wonderful time staying at River Perch. The hosts are generous and the property is beautiful, comfortable and well-stocked, inside and out. We kayaked and enjoyed the river, hiked a nearby trail and enjoyed live music in town one evening.
Amazing views, fell asleep to the sound of the river, beautiful home with all you need and more! Owner is amazing meeting your every need! We will be back...truly Almost Heaven.

Five stars all around!
You might have thought you stayed at a place where the owner put a lot of thought into taking care of you, but you’ve never stayed here, I travel for work I book through vrbo three out of the four weeks of a month by far the best treatment and presentation by a host I’ve ever had my hats off to this host for the tremendous thought and effort he has put into you!!! I’m a forever customer I will be back!!
Glenn, the host was truly the best. Accommodating in every way. The house was clean, spacious and located on a manicured lot. The view was awesome. Right on the river. We ate every meal on the outside covered deck. Every aspect of our stay was awesome. Our only regret was we had to leave. I can't say enough good things about this awesome property and host.
We absolutely loved the River Perch! The house was perfect and the location overlooking the river was amazing. Glenn was the best host. Our trip was short and sweet but he made sure we made the most of our time there. He recommended a wonderful hike, set us up for tubing, told us where to get the best burger (it was the best), and showed us a great spot for a sunset hike. It was an unforgettable trip. We loved it!
