This Lakefront Lodge sits on a Private Lake in an Exclusive, Private, Gated State and Federal Wildlife Preserve near Yosemite National Park and Hetch Hetchy Reservoir, and next to Stanislaus National Forest.
As a guest, you can go to one of 3 Beaches and the Marina, where you can play in the sand, swim, play volleyball, order ice cream and other goodies, and rent boats. Go to Fisherman's Cove and fish. Go to the Country Club and have dinner, Play Golf, practice swings at the Driving Range, or use the Pool. Visit the Equestrian Center for riding lessons, a horse ride, or just to look at the horses. Play a game on the Tennis and Pickleball courts or in the Horseshoe Pits. Go for a walk on the many trails, or "Do the Loop," as we call it (we are on a one-way road with very little traffic, so you can walk the lower road and then the upper road in a Loop).
Owners and guests have access to all the amenities; many are private to owners and guests only, including the Lake and the three Beaches. Here are additional details of just one, the Main Beach and Marina:
The marina is a great place to go, with the lake, the Marina Store, and the Lakeside Café. It also has a large grassy area with picnic tables and barbeques. A sandy beach area is perfect for building sandcastles or nestling your toes in the sand. A roped-off area is designed for swimming. If you’re looking for an activity, you can rent various boats, including pedal boats, family cruisers, fishing boats, stand-up paddleboards, and kayaks. There are also volleyball and bocce ball courts. Best of all, there is food. The Lakeside Café offers snacks, meals, soda, milkshakes, iced coffee, and soft-serve ice cream.
This is not a party house. If you are looking for a serene, quiet place to rest with family and friends, a retreat, or a business meeting, this is your house.

One unique aspect of our home is the many special places people can retreat to for privacy. Although your family or group may be large, one can get away to all the nooks of our home/property, from the two living rooms, family room, hall game area, the two small private decks on the third floor, as well as the large main deck, the patio area, and the dock deck, the loft, the window bench seat, and the dock itself.
We also live on a quiet one-way road off the main road, which makes a large circle perfect for a good, solid walk up some hills and back down, another way to find some quiet time. Being with family and friends is important and rewarding, but some separation can also create small, meaningful talks and moments of reflection while you're with the people you care about most.
For those with special needs: The Main Floor, featuring the Main Living Room, Kitchen/Dining Area, Bathroom, Two Bedrooms, and Main Deck, is just one step from the driveway for those with disabilities or special needs.

Hosts April and Bill are available by phone anytime and in person for emergencies. We have been in the community since 1980, so we have access to many friends, neighbors, and tradesmen in the area who can assist us with any issues or concerns. We live 3.5 hours away and come up frequently between reservations to clean and maintain our home. We are often available in the summer when guests check in or out, so we can help you with any questions. If you arrive when we can't be there, or if it's late in the evening, the front door has a combination lock that you can access once your reservation is confirmed.
Parking We have parking for 5 vehicles on the property, and additional parking is about 5 minutes away. We will call in the passes for 5 vehicles. The Homeowners Association collects a one-time per-vehicle fee at the main gate to offset expenses such as 24-hour security, a manned 24-hour gate, a private lake, and other amenities.
Beds/Cleaning: Our Signature Clean Bed Policy - Unlike many hotels and especially vacation home rentals, which don't wash the duvets/comforters and blankets very often, if at all (most don't even put blankets or top sheets on the bed), we wash ALL sheets, blankets, and duvets IN BETWEEN EACH AND EVERY GUEST STAY and all mattress toppers, comforters, and pillow protectors regularly. Yes, this creates a lot of laundry and time spent making beds, but we firmly believe clean, comfortable beds and quality linens are an absolute requirement. Our motto is: if we want that for our vacation, we provide it for your vacation.
Please ask about pets.
NO SMOKING, PLEASE - This is a smoke-free home. If you smoke, please do so outside and ensure that the smoke doesn't flow back into the house through open sliders.

Fantastic setting as shown on peaceful lake 80 minutes from Yosemite valley. Comfortable for large groups or families. Bedrooms very comfortably furnished. Well stocked kitchen with helpful 2nd fridge outside. Great deck space and firepit. Many different spots for hanging out inside and outside. Well stocked amenities for lake. Very responsive hosts. Great value. We would definitely return.

Liked: Cleanliness, location
This house accommodates many people. We had a few issues with check in and very disappointed with the gate fee for each car in our group. Added 250 more cost to an expensive stay.
This was a great house for a large group. The kids loved the lake and the toys to use. The ad said 8 minutes from Yosemite, but actually 45 mins. But the house provide everything you need for a lovely stay. Beware the address in the ad is not where the house is. You dont get all information up front. But owners do respond quickly. Its in a gated community so make sure each driver is listed on your reservation or you could have issues.
Be sure to go to Hetch Hetchy. It's a wonderful hike and much closer to the house and less crowded than the busier parts of the park. The lake is warmer than we expected and great to relax in after a day of hiking.

We followers of Christ, first and foremost, second...everything else--a Mom, teacher, wife, helper, worker, cleaner, gardener, and whatever else God wants me to do. Bill, my husband, is busy working on our farm day and night and keeping the home fires burning.
Why they chose this property
This property has been in our family since 1977 and was designed by my husband, Bill. He attended a small engineering school that also offered degrees in architecture. Bill bought the lot back in 1977 and built the house. He picked it because the property was on a private lake, was within a few hours' drive, and was just below the snowline, which meant that we could drive to it without having to put on chains or have snow tires.
We updated and added two stories over the garage with two bedrooms, an additional bathroom, and a loft. We have children, and when we come and they bring friends, we need some extra room and bedrooms to accommodate our family. It feels like a little-known treasure, as many people still don't know about Pine Mountain Lake. It is especially lovely in the fall, winter, and spring, as Yosemite Park is quiet, all the summer tourists are gone, and it feels like the park is in our pocket, in our backyard. It's the best time to go. Then, after a day at the park, we love to come up to PML, a tranquil place during the fall, winter, and spring. We feel like the only ones on the lake. Summer is fun too for family gatherings. The kids love all the action, the swimming, fishing, and deck barbecues.
What makes this property unique
One of my favorite things about this house is all the places I can go to for privacy, even though my family is large and we have such a full house. I also love sitting on the swing bench on the back deck and looking at the lake. Waking up in the Master Bedroom, listening to the geese, and seeing the sun peek through the pine trees, with the water twinkling in the sunrise, is so renewing for my spirit. Life slows down when we go to PML. We have great memories there with our children, and we look forward to creating more. We hope you can do the same.
