Our family enjoyed the beautiful home and gorgeous setting in Huntington Vermont. The house was well equipped and very comfortable! Our son was married on the property which was a very lovely occasion, right next to the pond with the changing leaves all around us.There were 9 of us, including 3 children under the age of 10 (who enjoyed sleeping in the loft). The home is somewhat isolated and private - but close enough to Burlington and several other smaller towns, so we had everything we needed fairly close by.
The house and property were absolutely beautiful. The only minor issues were that the microwave didn’t work and they were doing some construction on the barn next to the house.
This was our third year vacationing in Huntington. The farm is magnificent. Sarah and Bert do an exceptional job maintaining the property. Our granddaughter enjoyed swimming in the pond, collecting eggs in the chicken coop, catching tadpoles, frogs and salamanders, hiking up Little Baldie, and of course using the home made maple syrup. Sarah and Bert are so engaging and accommodating. We saw deer and an osprey fishing in the pond. The raptor had better luck than me! We are planning a return trip in the fall for foliage. Can’t wait! Cannot say enough about this very special place! Thank you Sarah and Bert! Always a pleasure.
This was our 3rd visit to Fielder Farm and it was wonderful as always. Although we had hoped for some snow, we had a great time hiking, relaxing by the wood stove and enjoying the hot tub. Our group included tweens through grandparents and everyone had a great time! We will definitely book again.
We had a fantastic stay at Fielder Farm! The property was covered in a beautiful blanket of snow, making it a true winter wonderland. The home is spacious, cozy, and well-equipped, especially the kitchen. After skiing and hiking the trails, soaking in the hot tub was the perfect way to unwind. The hosts were friendly and helpful, and their dog, Ahab, was a delightful bonus. Highly recommend this place for a peaceful Vermont retreat!
The property is beautiful! Perfect place for a retreat. The spring water pond and hot tub are so refreshing and we enjoyed our walks. Really appreciated the well-stocked kitchen and sufficient amount of towels and linens. Re: communication, we were grateful for how fast Sarah responded, but personally would have loved receiving a digital copy of the (very helpful) visitor guide before arrival rather than only once on-site so that we could prepare better :)
Our 3rd trip to Fielder Farm, this time with our entire family. Hiking, biking, swimming, fishing, frogging, and relaxing. So much to do in this idillic place and you don’t really need to leave. Our hosts, Sarah and Bert, informative and gracious as always. Our 4year old granddaughter loved fishing, catching tadpoles and frogs in the pond and hiking up Little Baldie for great views and picking wild blueberries and raspberries. Would definitely recommend the farm and the “barn” for your next get away!!
We had a great stay at the barn! Great sledding hill, trails for hiking, snowshoeing and skiing. If the pond was frozen we would have been out their skating too, next time! The hot tub was great after an afternoon of sledding but some stayed in for the toasty wood stove and hot chocolate! Lots of books and cozy places to curl up and read. Our hosts were very helpful when we had questions. Definitely a place I would return to. Thank you for having us!
We had an amazing stay at Sarah & Burt’s gorgeous barn. It is just as beautiful and tranquil as the photos show. Our kids loved catching frogs and polywogs in the pond. Easy access to nice hiking trails, and a lovely place to come back to and relax. Truly a great library inside, as well! That was the unexpected bonus. Communication with both hosts was easy and helpful. We would love to return!
First thing we did was jump into the pond, spectacular property and the scenery was lovely. Hosts were helpful, friendly and welcoming and we look forward to many more return mini-vacations at their property.
We will miss the swallows and bull frogs singing to us, and the cows joining us for coffee or cocktails.
And don’t forget to buy the homemade maple syrup by the 1/2 gallon, goes great on oatmeal and in your morning coffee.
Tranquil, beautifully manicured ,pastoral setting with a great wide open feel. Lovely pond and pasture. Really beautiful craftsmanship in house. Very clean and new . Very nice hosts and neighbors. Location was perfect for a relaxing getaway with many trails and rivers nearby. Just what the doctor ordered. Wouldn't quite call it a 4 bedroom as loft style upstairs beds a bit hard to access with downstairs bathroom.
I live in Vermont and gathered a bunch of friends from out of town in the Barn for a few days at Fielder Farm. We had an excellent time. The property has a great mix of mountain views, green pastures, trees, and water features. We loved hiking in nearby Camel’s Hump State Park. We loved hanging out in and around the pond for an entire day. We loved using the farm as a jumping off point to explore Waterbury/Stowe (30-45 min away) and the Northeast Kingdom (90-120 min away).
The hosts were very present and available, but also kept some distance and gave us privacy.
I hope to come back with my kids and other families we know!
Everything was perfect! Sarah and Bert are great hosts! We had everything we needed. Both check-in and check-out were simple. The house was spotless. The pond and the hot tub were big hits with the family. We loved sitting on the deck and by the pond, enjoying the view. We especially loved hearing the bullfrogs at night. Another big hit was buying maple syrup right at the cabin. We had an endless supply! Some of the nights were warm, compliments of a heat wave! Five-star review all the way! We would return in a heartbeat!
My extended family and I booked this beautiful property for the 2024 eclipse and we couldn't have been more pleased.
The barn is so bright and beautiful and well maintained and decorated. It easily fit our party of nine adults and teens.
It is a very open plan home with the coolest walkway for the upstairs bedrooms.
The property has a cute little pond for fishing and a gorgeous view. We were there in mud season, so we didn't walk much, but it looks like lots to explore.
The hosts are the warmest, friendliest people.
I would highly recommend this location and I hope to get back here myself.
We spent our August vacation week at this beautiful well appointed “barn” in Huntington. Don’t let the term barn fool you, this well appointed and cleverly designed barn is an architectural work art. The personal touches inside give a glimpse into family farm life and the library is wonderful.
The owners, Bert and Sarah, were gracious but not intrusive. They provided us with excellent information about the surrounding area and were quick to respond to any questions we had. Ahab, their Belgian Tervuren, was a wonderful companion for hikes up the mountain and for sitting by the pond watching the cows or reading, drinking in the natural beauty. So relaxing ,
Would highly recommend this property as a hub for exploring, hiking, fishing or just chilling. We hope to return soon for another visit! A big thank you to Bert and Sarah and of course Ahab

A fantastic house, in a beautiful location.
If you're looking for a quiet, beautiful place in which to have a relaxing holiday, look no further. The barn is fantastic - clearly a lot of love and effort went into its design. We are a family of five, and had more space than we knew what to do with. The barn was well stocked with everything you might need - Bert and Sarah even managed to find us a cool box for a picnic, and a ball for the boys to kick around.
We managed a trip to Burlington, which was lovely, but in the main were happy to relax at the Barn and soak up the fantastic view. Pride of place in this review must go to the pond, which we all swam in every day, and the hot tub. We toured New England for four weeks, and the pond was my 10 year old son's favourite part of the whole trip. We'll be back back as soon as we can! Andrew, Anita and family.
We had an amazing stay at Fielder's Farm. The setting is incredibly serene, tucked away on the hillside of the Green Mountains. The large barn accommodated the needs of my family; clean, spotless and a great kitchen. Ending the day in the hot tub with mountain views was perfect. Highly recommend if you want an authentic, relaxing "Vermont getaway."
I want to start off by saying how absolutely beautiful the house and property was. The kids had a blast fishing, running around in the yard and playing with the chickens. The house is not user friendly for really young kids but we made it work. Also, I think every ladybug in the state was at and in the house lol. I would definitely go back and stay there.
Sara and Bert's Fielder Farm is stunningly beautiful, spacious, comfortable and stocked with everything needed for a perfect stay. If you are looking for sweeping open space, a robust trail network, unobstructed star gazing all while a short drive from Burlington, Stowe, Montpelier and Middlebury this is the place for you!
We had a great stay. The barn is gorgeous, the pond is lovely for swimming and there are multiple hiking options right out the door. We didn’t use our car once after we arrived. Sarah and Bert were great hosts and their dog made sure we didn’t get lost when we were out hiking!
Immaculately kept, very fun property was just what we needed. The pond is a little too cool, but it is northern Vermont. Hot tub made it great. Fun place to cook and read a book. Not very close to Burlington but it's a very pleasant ride to town. Terrific place all around.
