About this space Prime downtown location. Only 7 blocks to CSU Chico. Located next to lower Bidwell Park, this home will be the perfect hub for your next getaway. Walk to local favorites like Stoble coffee and Hotel Diamond. Check out the shops, restaurants, Saturday morning farmers market and the 1 mile pool. The home still has all the charm it did in 1920 with a 2023 spin. Included are two beach cruisers so you can discover Chico like a local. PET FRIENDLY but please check house rules for our furry friends. The space Fox at Fourth is the perfect space for those wanting to be right in the mix of downtown Chico. The home was recently given a makeover for its 100th birthday! Brand new appliances, bath fixtures, fresh paint inside and out and high-speed Comcast internet. Don't worry, the home still has all the roaring 20's charm and still has a lot of original architectural elements (aka, not everything is brand spanking new and some things are “wonky”) All 3 bedrooms have doors that connect to each other. Keep open to have one eye on the kiddos or close off to have privacy. The washer and dryer are located outside in the laundry shed. Guests are welcome to use ;) There is also a back yard shed with bikes. The key is located in the kitchen. We are a pet friendly property with a limit of two dogs. Please tell us a little bit about your pet(s). We ask that your fur babies do not lay on the sofa or beds, please provide your own dog beds/bedding. Pets must be picked up after, and never left alone in the home unless crated. Please let me know if you have any questions about the space or location. I'm happy to assist! Nice outdoor spaces between the back and the front porch, walkable to everything! Open and light with space for the 5 of us to spread out. Would definitely stay again!
I wanted to visit my old college stomping grounds for the weekend and this place delivered. Less than 10 min walk to all the downtown spots and a block from the trail to one mile. It’s the side of downtown you want to be in when you’re over 30. The bikes came in so clutch too. Owner was really accommodating and kind. Would definitely book this place again.

Lack of communication while we were there, house lighting/layout was not intuitive. No dish towels provided which led to paper waste. I strongly encourage written out check in/ out instructions. Also, front door outside lighting was poor, making it difficult to navigate the stairs. I also recommend some kind of rug be laid on the door way between kitchen and dining area and living room to kitchen. Price was reasonable.

Proximity to downtown was nice, but the overall condition was not great. This is a very old house that hasn’t been kept up well. There were massive amounts of spider cobwebs and other bugs. The floor was dirty, we saw hairs on various things. I feel the photos made it look a lot nicer than it is and I would not stay here again.
What a gem! Such a cute, mid century vibe close to downtown and CSU Chico! We appreciated finding a dog friendly home to bring our pup along. Clean with attention to details (doggie bowls, AC on prior to arrival, ice ready in freezer and keurig machine for the morning were some of our favorite touches). We didn’t use the bikes but loved that they were available for use. It’s an older home but the furniture and style made it so cozy and welcoming! 3 bedrooms fit my husband and I plus our teen and younger kiddo perfect. Easy communication with the owner. We will be back!
We were in town to meet our newest member my grandson and visit with my son, daughter in law and 4 yr old granddaughter. Some of the best restaurants including Beatniks, Stoble's, Upper Crust, Moomas and TBar Infusion, all close byWalked the neighborhood to check out the "fairytale houses" that dot the neighborhood. CHECK OUT THE REDWOOD trees especially the one across the street. My daughters grabbed the bikes and rode in Bidwell Park with their brother. Great visit
We had a very lovely two-day stay at Ashley's little bungalow - we would stay there again! We loved the colorful and unique decor and the proximity to downtown. Ashley was very easy to deal with and quick to respond to the few questions we had leading up to and after arrival. We read one review that said that the house took a while to warm up, so we asked Ashley to turn the heather on before our arrival, and the house was nice and toasty when we got there. Loved the backyard and access to the two cruisers. :)

The booking, communication and host were all great, no issues there. The actual place is not really that great. I am paraphrasing another review here but this was our exact experience as well. The home didn’t match the listing. While I am all for staying in places that have "old world charm and character" the photos are outdated, and the place needs basic maintenance and care. The place feels dirty. Tons of cobwebs in all the windows and doorways. Windows simply do not work or open. Coffee maker does not work. Window air conditioners are hidden behind beds in old single pane wood windows that predate window air conditioning. The tub and shower are in poor condition, with mold growing on the caulk. Other reviewers have mentioned similar issues, and it’s clear these problems have been ongoing. This home has potential, but it’s not being maintained in a way that makes it guest-ready.
It’s definitely an old house as are most in Chico. The location was everything, only a 5 minute walk to the bars in downtown. Didn’t have to take a single uber which was nice. It had a big back yard with a nice set up. Beds weren’t super comfortable but weren’t bad either. It did say there was a washer and dryer when there wasn’t one but that’s okay. The WiFi password wasn’t posted anywhere and I couldn’t get ahold of the host for the password. Other than the communication, WiFi, and washer/dryer everything was as expected and nice. The fridge and freezer has lots of space and the ice cube tray was even filled for us. They had all the cooking supplies you could need and shower supplies as well. I would stay here again.
This property was double booked with another well known website (can’t be named for promotional reasons), so we were unable to stay. I contacted the host regarding check in instructions, when she realized it was double booked and blamed Vrbo for the mishap. This resulted in the host booking us with another one of her properties far from downtown, off 8th Ave.
Due to the mix up, our check in time was 3 hours later than anticipated. This was also a real bummer for our trip because we specifically chose a place within walking distance to downtown to avoid using our car & experience Chico.
The new property had some issues with heavily stained towels, bedding, and furniture. There were also only 3 towels for a 6 person place. We contacted the host with these concerns and she provided new towels for us.
The host never took responsibility for the double booking and blamed Vrbo for the lack of syncing her calendars. This has been a frustrating situation and will not be booking with Vrbo moving forward. We are still trying to get some sort of reimbursement/accommodation from Vrbo
