Green Gables Estate -Retreat & Events (sleeps 34)

Summary:

A stunning historic treasure, Green Gables is nestled atop 27 stunning acres, the Manor (12 br 5 1/2 ba) plus the Carriage House (3br 2 1/2 ba) combine to sleep 34 guests overnight (+ 17 day visitors). Two large kitchens plus a dining hall indoors and grand patio connect the homes & make for perfect dining, meeting & entertaining spaces. The Estate is your own private resort boasting a 50 ft pool, pond w/ waterfall, tennis, pickleball, putting green, hot tub, & much more!



The Space:

Completely enclosed by a stone wall around the entire 27 acres, guests have exclusive use of the Estate. The main house boasts extensive porches, patios and a sunroom with large hot tub on the patio. Inside, the main floor layout features a kitchen, great room, dining room, parlor and 1/2 bath. The second & third floor comprise of 12 stunning bedrooms, 5 bathrooms and a balcony overlooking the estate. Additionally, there is a guest laundry in the basement. The grand patio is perfect for large gatherings outside and connects the Main House to the Carriage house. The first floor of this cottage is home to a beautiful sunroom large entertaining kitchen, dining/conference space for 36, a half bath. and laundry facility. The second floor has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The property grounds make Green Gables truly special. Our spacious lawn with the grand swimming pool (open May-Sept), tennis / pickleball courts, golf tee boxes & putting green, firepit, disc golf, playground & playhouse and a host of other outdoor games and activities are only the beginning. Trails through the lovely woods brings you to our stream, pond and waterfall where arched bridges, a boathouse, and kayaks add to the fun. Back inside the Carriage Barn, a game room complete with billiards, ping pong, foosball, video games, basketball shoot and darts await! The barn also hosts our gym, theater, and yoga/multipurpose space.

Guests have exclusive and full access to the property and all the amenities except for the Owners area.



The Neighborhood:

Near Spectacular Buck Hill Falls, Skytop resort, Mt. Airy casino & golf resort, multiple ski resorts, Pocono Outlet shopping, and the lovely villages of Barrett township. The Estate sits central to the best of all that the Poconos entails.

Cars are recommended. Grocery, Pharmacy, restaurants, post office, gas and most services are all within 1 mile of the property.

Green Gables requires the booking guest to be at least 25 years old and be onsite and have at least one positive review. An additional booking agreement is required.

We had a wonderful time even though he weather was not cooperative. There was so much for the grandkids to do even with the rain. The house is incredible and Lindy, the host, was quick to answer any questions we had. A great time was had by all.

I don't know that you get a whole lot better than Green Gables, particularly for a larger group (we were 23). Great communication with Lindy and her team, a comfortable, clean place. A snowstorm came in, we got well over a foot, and they were all over it - a crew came with a plow, shovels, snowblowers. Absolutely terrific. It was a very cozy feel for such a large space. And though we had no children with us, you could tell they were 100% prepared for kids. Check out the laminated kid activity sheets! Everything was extremely well labelled and organized. From the moment we stepped in we could tell we were in good hands. Terrific place, Lindy et al. Thanks for hosting us!

We rented this house to spend New Year’s in the snow with our family. We were a group of 20 people and had an incredible time. The house is comfortable and spacious, making it perfect for large families.The kids were so happy with how much space the property had and all the activities they could enjoy. Their favorite part was definitely the game room.Honestly, I would love to come back. We spent quality time together as a family, and the house was absolutely spectacular.

The Green Gables is an incredible property, and we could not recommend it more highly. The managers are on-site to make sure everything goes smoothly, the property had more activities than we could even do in a three day visit, and everything is clean and well-maintained.

We had such a wonderful family staycation at Green Gables! The estate had something for everyone—swimming, games, trails, and plenty of space for both kids and adults to relax and enjoy. The homes were comfortable and well-equipped, making it easy to share meals and time together. Lindy was a pleasure to work with—kind, responsive, and helpful whenever we had a question. Family reunion

This was a lovely location for our family reunion that included 20 adults and 5 kids. Everyone enjoyed spending time in the pool. The kids had fun on the play equipment and the whole family spent time around the fire pit making s'mores. The house easily accommodated all of us and we utilized the kitchens in both the carriage house and the main house. This property offers so many things to do, everyone had a great time.

Beautiful property with so much to do!

The house and property are as beautiful as pictured. It is well taken care of and there is so much to do without leaving the property. We played pickle ball, went on hikes, golfed and played pool. The owners put a lot of time into making sure everything that you need is there! My group cant wait to go again next year!

Great hosts, great place

This was a really nice stay. The home and grounds are fantastic, but what really sets it apart is the hosts. Every little detail has been thought of, anything you might want has been provided for you. Every drawer and cabinet is clearly labeled so everything is easy to find. Numerous countertop kitchen appliances available: coffee pots, slow cookers, blenders, toasters, more. You will want for nothing at this place. Furniture matches home fantastically. The game room in particular was a great source of entertainment for our group. All of our 26-person party agreed this was a great experience.

Great Stay

We had the most amazing stay at Green Gables Estate while celebrating my moms 80th birthday with family! The home was not only clean and beautifully decorated but also spacious enough to accommodate our entire group comfortably. The thoughtful touches throughout the property made it feel like a home away from home.The kitchen was well-equipped, however on the small size for such a large home. The outdoor space was great unfortunately the weather was to cold to fully enjoy all the outdoor space had to offerEveryone, from the youngest to the oldest, had a wonderful time, and we truly couldn’t have asked for a better place to create such meaningful memories. Family Christmas

Our family has been traveling to the Poconos every December to cut down our Christmas trees for the past 45 years. As our family grew we began renting houses and hit the jackpot when we found Green Gables. The home and property is absolutely breathtaking. We felt like we stepped into a Hallmark movie. The owners couldn’t have been kinder and more accommodating. They had the entire property decorated for us and we had the best time discovering all the little details they added to the home. There is so much to do that you never have to leave the property. The kids loved the game room and all of the outdoor activities even though it was winter. The property is close to a variety of restaurants and stores. We already booked again for next year :)

Overall, a great property and fun place to stay with a large group. Pros: excellent communication with the property manager, they responded quickly to every issue we had and resolved them just as quickly, the grounds are beautiful and have so much to offer, large and beautiful pool, nice hot tub, great lawn games, great game room for the kids, so much to do on property that you don't need to leave if you don't want to! Cons: due to the age of the house, we lost power and had power issues multiple times in the 4 days we were there, the kitchen in the main house is quite small for a large group, the AC wasn't really powerful enough to keep the house cool to our comfort or preference, the bathrooms on the 3rd floor are very very small and an adult cannot stand in the tubs to take a shower - these 2 bathrooms are basically unusable for adults and very hard to figure out for kids baths as well due to the old style and no instructions for proper use, there are not enough bathrooms period for the number of guests/bedrooms in the house, only one very small bathroom on the first floor, the main living room is not large enough to fit a large group staying in the house together and neither is the dining table (we had to have a kids meal and then follow it up with an adult meal to all fit) and the door from the kitchen to the dining room is very frustrating with kids running around and slamming shut vs. staying open and being in the way of the dining chairs/benches, not baby friendly

Family Skication

Our large group had a great time at Green Gables. Communications with our hosts were prompt and efficient. The home is beautiful and was more than enough room for our 20 group. We were able to prepare meals everyday in the kitchen, there was more than enough room especially with 4 people cooking. The table was way bigger than the picture made it seem. We were able to fit a large amount of us during meals and playing games. Our group was skeptical about the bathroom situation, but the 5 bathrooms and half bath were more than enough for our group. So much so the en-suite bathroom stayed private for the couple staying in that room. The game room and theater room kept our kids entertained. Very large and warm space, pool, mini basketball hoop, foosball, darts, tv to hook up their video games and to sing karaoke! Soundproof movie theater, a yoga room for meditation, and a well equipped gym. I had a chance to walk the property and it is beautiful! The waterfall and pond were relaxing, even in the cold. The kids were even able to go sledding, which they enjoyed very much. The home is well taken care of, clean and attention was paid to every detail, from the signs blending into the decor, non obtrusive, but also letting us know how to work everything and where everything was located. Each room had different names and the decor match perfectly, from the blinds to the bedding, the art and vintage decor. We had a lovely time and cannot wait to go back!.

lovely stay at a gorgeous property

The place offers a variety of outdoor activities that truly set it apart. We had access to a heated pool, volleyball and tennis courts, pickleball, a small mini-golf course, and a jet hot tub. These amenities provided endless entertainment and fun for everyone in our group. *Pros:* *Outdoor Activities:* The highlight of our stay was definitely the outdoor amenities. The heated pool was perfect for both day and evening swims. The courts for volleyball, tennis, and pickleball were well-maintained and provided great opportunities for some friendly competition. The mini-golf course, though small, was a delightful addition. After a day of activities, relaxing in the jet hot tub was a treat. Cons: *Small Bedrooms:* The bedrooms were a bit on the smaller side. While they were comfortable, they didn't offer much space for luggage or moving around. *Bathroom Situation:* There were not enough bathrooms to accommodate our large group, and some of them did not have a standing shower, which was a bit inconvenient. *Living/Sitting Area:* The living area was not large enough to comfortably fit all 20+ guests at once. It would have been nice to have a bigger space for everyone to gather together. *Kitchen Size: The kitchen was small, which made it challenging to prepare meals for a large group. We managed, but it required some coordination and patience. *Lack
