This location has a significant plumbing issue. We arrived late in the evening and were thankfully only staying one night or we would have had to find another place. Anytime any water source was turned on there was an overwhelming sulfur smell that permeated the entire place. The water had a noticeable brown tinge to it. We could not drink the water, cook with the water, or bathe without smelling like rotten eggs. It was really unfortunate. This will typically only occur when there's a significant bacterial overgrowth in the water heater and subsequent plumbing. I would absolutely insure that this has been addressed prior to even considering staying here.Overall, this is a really lovely property that has been well maintained. The location is a little out of the way, but it was nice to be out of the hustle and bustle but still near enough to get to things quickly. The communication was definitely lacking. The host chalked it up to issues with the VRBO system and that may be the case. We did not receive the door code prior to arrival and waited outside for response via messenger, but thankfully it was fairly quick.

Thank you for your feedback. We will definitely address the sulfur smell in the water. This property is on a water well and I was informed by our techs that the hot water heater anode rod can react with the minerals in the water to produce this smell. We will be addressing this. He did assure me it's safe to use, especially with our whole house water filter system. But definitely not the feedback we're going for! Apologies that you experienced this during your stay. And we will look for more automation around the entry info to our guests. The information is on the listing itself but we would like to see more automated messages for this right before arrival for our guests.
